Birthday Suit

I picked up this product up in the duo pack from Farmers for $20. I love that you can pick them up in the set and then buy individual colours as well. I picked up the colour Birthday Suit as it is a very neutral creamy nude which I love to wear for long wearing nail polish as it goes with any outfit I might wear for work during the week.

I love the brush that these have. It is a bit flatter and wider than the usual nail polish brushes that I am used to. But I found that it made it a lot quicker to apply due to the brush being able to get the colour across the nail quicker. I didn't have any problems with the drying time of this nail polish. I made sure to do nice thin coats. My main problem with this nail polish is that it is incredibly streaky. It takes a good 3 to 4 coats of this to get an even opaque application of colour. Then apply the top coat. I didn't notice anything special about the top coat.

The lasting power of this nail polish is great! BUT it isn't 2 weeks. I find that I can get to around 6-7 days with this before it starts chipping around the edges.

So overall I would still recommend this product as it has a much better lasting power than any I have tried before.

My All time FAV

I have so much fantastic things to say about this polish I don't know where to begin. Firstly It is affordable, expecially for the quality of the product. It comes in many beautiful shades AND no lamp is required to set it just the top coat and natural light voila...

So the drill with this is you apply two coats of colour and one of top coat.. (dry between layers) Don't be too concerned about lines in the colour because once you put the top coat on BOOM, it looks as smoooooth as a babys bottom. So flawless looking...

The bottles are of great size and as i have one particular favorite colour that my mother likes too, it's lasting well considering.

Also the brush inside is not like a normal polish brush the brush is wider and I find i can paint the whole nail in two strokes! One if i am super lucky and careful about it. I find this so easy to use and gives such wonderful results...

The polish lasts well also, apart from the usual wear and tear as expected from scrubbing dishes etc (housewife here) The colour lasts longer than that of a regular polish, expecially on toes.

Ultimately I am super super pleased with this product and I can't wait to buy more with a farmers voucher i am anticipating for christmas :P

Best Polish Ever!

After hearing a lot of the ladies on here talk about how amazing these are, I went to Farmers and purchased the shade Street Flair.

Nail polish is one of those things that never, ever lasts on me. I am super rough with my hands and I am usually lucky to get 2 days wear out of a polish before it starts to chip.

These come with two bottles; one with the colour and the other is the gel top coat. You apply the colour like a regular polish and then once that is dry, you apply the top coat on the colour.

With these, I get about 3-5 days wear before they start to chip at the edges of my nails. This may not sound like a lot, but for me that is amazing! If you aren't so rough with your hands then I would imagine that this would last longer. For me, however, this is unheard of and these are way less expensive than an OPI polish.

I was so impressed with this that I now own 4 shades:

Street Flair - a pale, muted pastel purple,

Blacky O - A deep black,

Redgy - A vibrant, bright red,

Birthday Suit - a pale nude.

The two deeper shades (Blacky O and Redgy), are super pigmented and need only one coat of colour. The lighter shades (Street Flair and Birthday Suit), aren't as pigmented and need two coats to get a decent amount of colour.

Overall, I will definitely be purchasing more of these 9particularly in dark shades), as they are the longest wearing polish I have used thus far. I recommend them!

Game of Chromes/Hunger Flames

I purchased these 2 colours as i already have all of the other shades from the original releases from last year. I will start with the different colours and application of each, then will get on to the polishes as a hole. "Game of Chromes" - one word LOVE! its the perfect glittery, without been glittery, sparkly gold. It applied like a dream, with only needing 1 coat instead of the 2-3 i would usually need with other colours. The glitter, which isnt a glitter, is more like sparkles, its so hard for me to find the words for what it looks like. This one is my FAVOURITE! "hunger Flames" - Purpley Pink and stunning! I had high hopes for this as i love Purple and it didnt disappoint. Application i used 2 coats to get that perfect base, it took about 15 minutes to dry, and the colour is nearly an exact match to what you see in the bottle. Now for the overall stuff. SH polishes have the best brushes, they are large enough that you really only need to swipe 3 times on each nail, for each coat, excluding pinky, which i used one swipe per coat. Drying time of both of these was 15 minutes max. Once the top coat is applied, my nails were shiny just like a decent Gel mani from a salon. The formula on these 2 in particular, are very different to the other ones i have. The polish itself is thin kind of like Orly and OPI, whereas the other more subtle shades (creme de la creme, Malibu peach etc) are in my opinion are more thick in texture. On my nails, these 2 colour lasted 9 days before fading at the tips, but please bear in mind that i use ISO and use my hands ALOT due to work. I think with all polishes, if you look after your hands and dont use ISO continuosly throughout the day, the colour would last MUCH longer. Removal, EASY! even GOC, its not chunky glitter, so is so simple to get off. do i reccommed? yes! I cant wait to get MORE of the new range, so these are a WIN!

Tips: dont forget to swipe the top coat across the tips of your nails to help prolong the tips from fading. xx

Yes Sally! We have a winner!!

There is very little I don't love about these polishes. They come in a large range of colors, which is ever expanding. I have Street Flair, Hunger Flames, Game of Chromes, Pink Tank, and Mad Women, plus two top coats. I am also looking to get a black and white, as they are the best lasting polishes I own.

The brush is my favorite thing, and it seems everyone is jumping on the same sort of brush as well. They are flat and wide, rather than thin and skinny like they used to be. They are AMAZING. I can cover a nail in two strokes if I wished, but I always do three, one down the middle and one on either side. I find it provides the best coverage with little to no stuff ups on my part.

The formula is a thick kind of runny. It doesn't dry out as you paint, like some formulas which is awesome. The next best thing about this polish? The staying power. I've managed to get 2 weeks wear out of one polish without topping up with a top coat. 2 WEEKS! For a polish that you can buy at Farmers or wherever, I'm blown away. I love this stuff. I also found that the drying time was cut in half - which is another bonus. A super quick drying polish that lasts for 2 weeks? You must be cray.

The only thing I don't like is the fact it makes my nails peel - I have weak nails anyway but this makes them go super peely. If they didn't peel, I'm almost positive I could get an extra 2 weeks wear out of it. I would definitely buy these again, and I am open for donations of them ;-)

No!!!

I've aquired a few of these and unlike others, I find them to be terrible. I've tried them many times and I just can't make them work for me, they're actually the worst nail polishes' in my collection. The colors that I have are all light, slightly pastel shades, and I wonder if it's just these shades, perhaps the darker and brighter colors are good? I don't know..

Maybe it's my nails, which are terrible. My nails flake and peel excessively at the tips, i'm sure it's due to not so great health and habit choices, but that's another story, back to why I really don't like these nail polishes..

The consistency is quite thin, the first layer always looks absolutely shocking, patchy as, terrible coverage. I find that I need 3 layers to achieve a decent coverage, and it takes so long to dry that I always end up with imprints, dints, smears, you know how it is when you knock your drying nails around. Even over an hour later, the dry is soft, so still prone to damage.

After a day or two of wear, this polish always does this hideous cracking thing beginning at the tips of my nails. It's like when there's a crack in the pavement, it's excessive, it progressively gets worse and it looks so ugly!

I'm quite confused by the contrast in my own experience with these nail polishes, and the positive experiences of others. Bloody mystery that one! I don't like these at all, would never recommend. Usually I love Sally Hansen, but not this time.

The same thing has happened to me with cracking. I agree worst formula in my collection. Might buy a darker colour to see if there's a difference.

Not In Love!

I received this in the shade Dig Fig before it was even on the market. I love entering comps and I was selected by Sally Hansen to trial this. I was stoked, because I love nail polish and art and this was supposed to be revolutionary! I have never used something like it before.

So, it arrived and I ripped into it immediately. The bottles were big, with the topcoat being in a black bottle so you couldn't see how much was in it. I'd change that!

So, Step One: Apply the colour. Dig Fig is a dark red, perfect for winter. I opened the bottle to reveal an overly large brush. I didn't like it! My nails are too small for it to work properly. The biggest brush I am comfortable with is OPI's.

It applied overly much on my nails, even with rubbing it off before and I wondered how long I'd sit and wait for it to dry, but alas! One good thing about this polish: The drying time IS SO QUICK! Wow! I couldn't believe it! On to the next hand, where I applied too little and it ended up being streaky and patchy and looking horrible, even with two coats.

The top coat went better, but it takes off some of the colour and the places where you tried to even the colour out, the top coat ruins it again. Okay, so not much love. Sorry! All I could think of was thank God I didn't buy it!

Three days into my manicure it peeled off of my nails. I know what to do when prepping to ensure there are no oils or dirt on my nails, but it still peeled off. I wasn't happy at all.

So, I did it again. And again, a couple of days later it peeled off, or it chipped within two days. That's not what it promised, SH!

Without being overly negative though, here are some good aspects:

1. The finish is shiny and it feels like gel. I love touching it!

2. The drying time is almost instant!

3. You can use the top coat over a normal polish to achieve the same effect.

Unfortunately though, this didn't work for me and when I use the top coat over a normal polish it still peels off.

I have bought two more for a friend, but that's as far as I go with buying more. I won't recommend it based on my experience, and I definitely won't repurchase.

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Polish

I first picked this up in the Beauty Vault in the shade Pretty Piggy after hearing great things about the polish. I always find I get a maximum 2 days chip-free of polish, which suits me fine in the weekends but since I was going away on holiday I wanted something a little longer-wearing.

I like the brush of the polish, which is a bit wider than the usual polish brush. I found it applied polish well and pretty evenly. The formula itself is a lot thinner than I expected, so with one application of polish it looked quite streaky, two worked a charm to get a nice coverage.

I left it a while to dry however even when I felt like it was dry and applied the top coat it still picked up a little colour. I've put this on a few times and it happened each time so maybe I just need to wait THAT much longer before popping on a top coat.

I love the colour of 'Pretty Piggy', however it's lastability really didn't live up to it's claims. After 3 days I noticed it had begun receding from the tips of my nails, after 5 I gave up completely as it had continued to chip in places. It did last longer than my usual polish but unfortunately no where near as long as I expected.

I did repurchase this again in the shade 'Red Eye' which is a vibrant, true red, my favourite colour. The polish does give me good-looking colour for the couple of days I normally wear polish which for the time I need it is suitable for me.

Tips: Before applying the top coat make sure the colour is completely dry so you don't pick up the colour on the brush.

Finally a nail polish that sticks to my nails

I have a few of these sets now and love them!

The bottles are cute. I like the shape. They are easy to hold. The lid has a kind of rubber texture which is fantastic. Means you can easily hold and twist the lids. The brushes are amazing! I love the flat shape of them! Makes it so much faster to apply the colour. The texture of the polish is smooth. It's not thick and gluggy. I really love the texture. Easy to apply. To drys really really quick as well.

I always apply two coats of the colour. Waiting until each layer is dry and finish with the top coat. I absolutely love how shiny my nails look at the end. Now the colour sticks to my nails and doesn't chip. Normal polish will come off the same day or definitely the next for me. It annoys the heck out of me seeing beautiful polishes and going to the effort of buying, and applying them for them to come right off! Not any more though. Thanks Sally Hanson!!

I was even given these wee shapes that are a thin card. I stick them onto the nail when the polish is still wet, then apply the top coat. These things won't come off!!! Now that's definitely a first for me.

Miracle Gel Polish

The original claim was that the polish would last 2 weeks, so I was dying to try it. Having 3 boys to chase after my polish is lucky if it lasts a day!

The double pack is good value as you get the top coat and the colour for $19.99, whereas one polish is $16.99. It's a little bit annoying that some colours only come in the pack though.

The packaging is good, the bottle shape is a little different to normal and I like how the lid is easier to grip as it is sort of rubbery.

The brush is great, it makes the application easy as it is wider and flatter than a lot of other polish brushes that I have. One of the colours I have requires one coat and then the top coat, the other needs two before the top coat.

It definitely didn't last as long as the claims, but I was still impressed with the wear. After 4 days the very tips started to chip a little, but I was able to fill it in a little bit and it lasted a couple more days.

All up - I really like it and I'm impressed enough to still be looking at getting more colours.

Tips: When the tips chip fill it in - or turn it into a french manicure design.
