I picked one of these lipsticks up in the Splashstore sale they had online. I saw these released last year and I was dying to give these a try. Matte lipsticks are very popular at the moment. I enjoy the matte lipstick formula.
I got two lipsticks Shocking pink and Disorderly. I like the design on the casing it's dark but bold packaging. It's sturdy haven't had any breakages yet. The consistency is creamy smooth and hydrating. I was expecting more of a matte finish but didn't get that with these.
I wore shocking pink out for the day and it's quite messy . It transfers into everything because it's incredibly creamy. I did need to reapply throughout the day which I don't mind doing. Without eating or drinking I could get a good five hours wear.
Overall I did like the variety of different colours they had. I think I was disappointed that they weren't matte. It is is priced fairly. I would still buy more because I do like the creamy formula.
Lets start with the good: 1. NYX is budget and animal friendly - it's cheap as chips and cruelty-free. 2. They weren't kidding about the colour pay-off. This stuff is bold and bright. 3. It is definitely matte.
The not so good: 1. It's drying. More so than a liquid lipstick. 2. The formula doesn't budge - great for on ya lips, but not if you get it on your face/teeth/clothes. It STAYS. 3. It tastes a bit funky.
All in all, it's definitely not a high quality product, but with the price, your expectations are met. I still wear this lippy, but only for short outings - not when I need all day wear.
Tips: Blot. A lot. Once you've applied, use a tissue to take off some of the excess colour. It won't make the colour fade, but it will stop it from spreading.
Exfoliate and moisturise before application and definitely have a lip balm handy.
