It's a very pretty colour but you do need to apply 3-4 layers to really make sure the nail is covered completely bot very long lasting need to re change colour after 2 days before colour started chipping.

Essie currently sits at the number one spot of my favourite nail polishes, as there's always such lovely colours to lust after and they are such great quality.
The packaging is stylish, super-sleek and well designed. A modern squarish shaped glass bottle, where you can see your chosen colour through it. The bottle is capped with a white lid and Essie embellished into the bottle. Just gorgeous.
I have a few Essie polishes in my collection, and always can't wait to get my hands on more. There's always a big wishlist with Essie colours.
The formula is great, and applies well with the brush. The formula is a good consistency and I find it easy to apply with the brush. I normally do three coats and the colour looks amazing.
I find that Essie nail polishes are superior to others, in that they last well on my nails and don't chip immediately like some other polishes can. If you haven't tried this brand yet, I totally recommend that you do!
I have lusted after Essie polishes for a while now, but the last time I looked they were out of my price range. Luckily for me, they seem to have come down in price a bit (and are quite often on special at Farmers, so yay!) So I have a gorgeous mid blue polish - must check the name of it - and I have to say, Essie is one of my favourite polishes to apply. The handle is super comfortable to wear, and the brush itself is a bit shorter than I'm used to, which makes for less streaking and more even coverage. The opaqueness is great, I can get away with 2 coats, but if I want a really deep colour then I use 3 coats. I am finding that it lasts a lot longer than some other polishes I have, and is a lot more chip-resistant. So I think that this is a fantastic polish for a really reasonable price and is well worth having in your collection.
I used to be a huge OPI fan, so wasn't super keen on trying out different polishes, but then I heard so many people rave on about Essie, so I decided to buy a couple of polishes to try it out.
Best choice I've made in a long time. I find that it lasts a lot longer than OPI, and the colours are more vibrant. It looks super smooth on the nail too, which I love.
They are well worth the price, and I love the look of the bottles too! Highly recommended!
I'm really not a big Essie fan. There's a couple of shades which work really well, but most of the ones in my collection are just meh. They aren't bad.. they're just not very good. They don't last well and chip easily and some of the shades are patchy. On the plus side, their colour range is great!
I'm a big nail polish fan and always have painted claws. I had heard so many wonderful things about Essie from the BR babes so on a recent shopping trip to the city I finally managed to get some i have the colours "go ginza" which is like a very light pastel purple and "romper room" which is a very light pink almost like a nude. It's a big favourite of mine.
The square glass bottle has the Essie logo stamped on the glass making it stand out. The brush is a lot like the Sally Hansen brushes where the corners are slightly rounded off making application even easier. It goes on smoothly and I have no streaky lines. I usually apply 3 coats of these to get a good depth of colour. Drying time between coats is pretty fast first coat about 2 minutes and 2 and 3 is about 10 minutes.
The longevity of these is amazingly good. When I had romper room on I decided it would be a great idea to clean the oven (what was I thinking!) and then clean the BBQ with steel wool, the nail polish was already 3 days old and I thought I would have been annihilated, only to realise when I had finished I only had a wee bit of chipping on a few nails so that right there makes me love this even more. And I didn't apply a top coat so it was just the nail polish on its own. When it came to removing it, a couple of swipes and it was off. Really loving the Essie polishes and want more.. If only it was stocked in our small town!!
Before Beauty review, I didn't really have much knowledge about beauty products at all. Since being on here, I've become more aware of nail polish lacquers and the difference in qualities between brands. I find that there is a difference in wear and vibrancy. So I had a good read many reviews of Essie and also following their social media accounts I could see that this company is very active with it's fans and general community.
Essie comes in this square shaped bottle. It has clean lines and a classic simple style. It's bottle has the Essie branding within this glass. I like this little touch. The colour I chose is Parka Perfect. It's a light shade of grey. It has flecks of silver shimmer within it. This brush is quite thin and it looks pretty standard. The texture of this liquid is quite thin.
On the first application its quite opaque. This nail polish needs a few layers of lacquer to build up a solid colour. I recommend ten intervals in between coats. Once dried the colour wasn't moving. Now for wear I managed to get three days wear. I did notice fading on my tips of finger but not directly on my fingers.
The quality of this polish is definitely there. I probably wouldn't pay $18 a bottle. I was really lucky to get a big bucket sale at $8 a bottle. I really enjoy pastel colours at the moment. They had a lot of bright colours but I think I'm going away from using those types of colours. I recommend at least getting one of these nail colours to add to your collection. It's worth of it.
I like nail polish in all colours. The Essie Ballet Slippers is a nail polish for days when you don't want to have nails that scream. It is a nice almost natural look perfectly suitable for work. It is very easy to apply because the nail polish is very fluid. Unfortunately the polish has to be applied 2 times to completely cover the nail.
I am a massive nail polish fan and love to collect different shades and collections. A couple of years ago I came across the brand Essie and have been loving it ever since.
Essie has an amazing range of beautiful colours - they tend to be predominately bright or pastel shades, I haven't seen many blood reds, or deep browns etc in the Essie range. I love the Essie collection of polishes because of the unique shades of polishes.
The nail polish brush seems to be smaller and a different shape to the OPI brushes and I find that it is easier to apply to fingernails than the OPI range of polishes. I am not sure the technical differences in the brushes, but I find Essie easier to use.
I own a lot of Essie polishes and always get compliments whenever I paint my nails. They are priced at a slightly higher price point than OPI, at about $23, but I think they are worth the $3-$4 difference.
Go and try Essie! It is not as well known in NZ as OPI and Revlon etc, but it is a quality brand and lasts on your nails as long as OPI, if not longer.
Tips: If you like colours in dark shades, then perhaps the Essie range of polishes is not the best fit for you. They do beautiful pastel and bright shades but I have not seen many Essie shades in darker colours.
Being a nail polish addict I'm not entirely sure why it look me so long to try an Essie polish but I'd lusted after the shade Mint Candy Apple for the longest time, so when I saw it for a half reasonable price whilst overseas I finally snapped it up! I was so excited to try it, plus the bottles are just so much cuter than OPI's.
When I first went to apply it the size of the brush shocked me, it's soo tiny! I'm used to OPI/Maybelline sized brushes which cover your nail in 2 swipes, so it was a bit of a learning curve having to quickly swipe multiple times to avoid drying and streaks, but I'm happy to work for it if the end result is fab!
The colour is amazing, it's the perfect pastel mint shade, I absolutely adore the colour! And if I enjoyed this polish I would be out there picking up the many more gorgeous shades that are calling my name! The formula is pretty standard where I have to apply 3 coats to achieve a nice opaque, streak free application.
For me, the most important thing when it comes to nail polish is the lasting power. I consistently use the same base and top coat that allows for a good 5-7 days wear with the majority of my polishes, but this one always, without fail, chips after 1 day. Always. I have to change my nail colour as soon as it starts chipping, so this really isn't feasible for me. I wondered if it may have just been this shade, but I seem to be seeing a lot of reviews all over the place with people having the same experience with an array of colours, so as much as it pains me to say, I will not be purchasing any more Essie polishes.
