Moroccanoil Moroccan Oil Review

I have bleached blonde hair so my ends are quite dry. Moroccan hair oil is a miracle product for my ends.

I got the 50ml bottle for about $30 off eBay as I couldn't bring myself to paying $45 for it in a normal retail store. The price is the only downfall of the product. I would like to use it everyday but since it is pricey I'm quite hesitant to do so.

It's not the best smell, but leaves my ends soft, manageable and looking healthier. A tiny bit does go a long way, I only use just under a 10cent coin size.

I apply it to my ends and work my way though my lengths but focus on the ends. I apply it to my hair after I've dried and straightened it.

Tips: Dupe: the dove miracle oil is just as good!

Magic for dry hair

I LOVE moroccan oil, it's by far the best of all the argan oils imo. OK, so it's pricey BUT it last forever - with my short hair I get almost a year out of a bottle as you only use a tiny bit. What I do is put my palm over the top of the bottle, tip the bottle up, then down, and what's left in my palm is more than enough to treat my hair.

I use it on my hair after washing and conditioning as a treatment and I also use if after straightening to catch any of those horrid flyaways and find it really does work.

I've used a couple of the other argan oils that are available and keep coming back to this one. It smells great, it's light and doesn't weigh your hair down (assuming you only use a small amount) and really helps the condition of your hair.

Tips: Only use a very small amount, even on longer hair as too much will leave it looking greasy

Made my hair soooo soft, great for hair repair

My hair dresser urged me to use this so I bought Moroccan oil after i had had my hair stripped from black to light brown/dark blonde, so my hair was really damaged, dry and brittle.

I have thick wavy, long hair, and was very skeptical as to weather this would help at all, but from the very first time of using it i was Pleasently surprised! Even though i have a lot of hair i only needed to use a tiny bit, Its really creamy and rich so you just rub it between your hands and stroke it through the ends of your hair = super soft silk hair, with out the yucky oily greasy look.

The bottle style isnt ideal, a bottle with a pump is much better, as it is easier to control how much you use, a pump bottle will last longer! (About 6months for me, using it every second day, in my huge hair haha)

I found that it defines my waves/curls and minimises frizz when i apply to newly washed, damp hair. Love that!

Smells so yummy, which lingers for a couple of days. I apply a smell amount on the ends of my hair after i straighten it, it makes its silky smooth.

After a couple months of using this oil it had transformed the condition of my hair from dry damaged and brittle, so soft and healthy.

Love love love it, highly recommend it to anyone who has bleach or colour damaged hair, or just dry hair

Tips: If you have bleached or light blonde hair, get the moroccan oil specifically for lighter hair, as this oil will make blondes and light highlights yellowy.

Best hair oil ever!

My hair is annoyingly oily at the roots and super dry at the ends which makes it really hard to find a good hair product for me. But I've noticed that the Moroccan oil moisturizes my ends and doesn't make my roots too oily. It doesn't weigh my hair down at all. The only downside for me is the price :/

Tips: You only need a tiny little bit

Great for dry curly hair

I have incredibly dry hair that gets frizzy with any small change in weather, so I decided to give this oil a try. Even though it is quite pricey, within a week I could feel the results in my hair. It is perfect for when I am in a rush in the morning, but need to give my hair some conditioning so it doesn't look like a fro all day. I would definitely recommend this because my hair has improved in health so much since I started using it. My hair is soft and shiny and I have had many compliments about what I use to keep it looking so healthy.

Tips: I find it easier to apply to wet hair so I don't use as much product and get it evenly throughout my hair

some advice I got from a hair stylist

I've been using Moroccan oil for 3-4 years. Along with Moreish Argan oil, this oil is my cant-live-without oil. Admittedly, I was very skeptical at first. My hair can become very oily after a day (especially during summer and hot, humid weather) so thinking of applying oil really startles me. But one of my friends who is a professional hair stylist convinced me about its effect and show me how to use it. He showed my some tips:

1. Using as a conditional product: either mix it with shampoo or applying in between the two wash. It helps maintaining the moisture balance for hair yet prevents exceeded oil .

2. For styling, after dye or straightening, this oil can be used in the first 5 days or first week after treatment.

3. After blow dry, he advised me to put some in the palm and "heat" it up before applying to the hair. Imagine your hands are like big combs.

I never use hair conditioner as I stick with moroccan oil and argan oil. This product has an amazing effect to me, especially with the parts of hair that "suffers" because of chemical treatment. As I mixed oil with shampoo, I realise my hair is stronger and much less hair loss.

I agree this product is a little expensive, but the bottle is huge and it can last you for ages. The amazing scent is also a plus for me, always think of an expensive spa every time using this.

Fantastic review - that's amazing to me that you don't need to use conditioner. I love that you included the tips that your hair stylist friend shared, thanks! I definitely want to take the plunge and get this now.

Oh yes

I recently got given Moroccan oil for my birthday. As I have bleached blonde hair, I had been looking for a good product as my hair is very dry and damaged so when my mum gave me this I thought great lets give it ago. At first I thought it would just be another oil for my hair. However after reading the back of the bottle I couldn't wait to use it. I loved the fact it said it can help speed up the drying process and it also can be used as a conditioner. I loved the smell it was not over powering like most oils I have tried. When I applied it to my hair, straight away I noticed it sunk in and my hair felt so soft. As my hair dried it looked so shiny and was extremely soft to touch, it looked so healthy. Was really pleased. Will be buying some more have to save up as it is a little expensive, but it works so it's worth it.

Tips: A little goes a long way!

I stocked up

I love this stuff so much that I bought 3 bottles & stocked up before I went back to Uni because I knew I wouldn't be able to afford it on the student allowance & assistance I get.

Until a couple of years ago I had always had long bum length hair which my hairdressers always said was in such good condition they were always wanting to play with it. I have been using Moroccan oil since it came out here about 7 years ago & I will never stop using it as long as it is made.

I have fine hair & it can be weighed down very easily, but Moroccan Oil has never had that effect on my hair. Because my hair was so long I used to separate it into 4 sections & use 1 pump per section from about 2/3 of the way down to the ends-not to the scalp & it worked so well. My hair was always smooth & silky and I never had fly-aways or frizziness at all.

It also smells amazing, lasts for ages & hydrates hair like you wouldn't believe. I love it.

And even when I got cancer & had to go though radiation I used the tiniest amount on my hair once it grew back to about 2 inches long and I have not had any problems with breakage or anything like that-also my hair has grown really fast and is now almost shoulder length in just over 18 months. I recommend it to everyone I know

Tips: Use every day & don't wash your hair more than twice a week if you can avoid it

Soft and shiny!

Moroccanoil Moroccan Oil was the first ever hair oil I tried. I purchased it after being recommended it for my hair, which at the time had many highlights through it so the lengths were very dry and damaged. I have naturally quite normal hair in thickness (not thick or fine) but tend to get an oilier scalp with dry lengths and ends, and have always had trouble with split ends.

I applied this to the lengths and ends of my wet hair after washing. You really only need a small amount of this, and I found my bottle lasted me almost a year.

It left my hair sooo soft and shiny and converted me to being a hair oil fan. At the time I was straightening my hair most days as well, so would also use this on dry hair to add a little moisture back in, rubbing a small amount between my palms and smoothing it over my hair. This also helped heaps with taming pesky flyaways.

I also LOVE the smell of this which is quite incensey and lingered on the hair, it helps make it feel like your hair is getting a really luxurious treatment when you use it.

I'm not that big a fan on the packaging of the Moroccan Oil. I've since used hair oil in both spray and pump forms as well as the screw cap bottle, and I much prefer them as I find it's too easy for the oil to come pouring out of the bottle so you can end up using more product than you needed.

I probably wouldn't purchase this again purely due to the price factor, I found for my needs that other oils such as L'Oreal Mythic Oil worked just as well on my hair. I would still recommend it to others based on the quality of the product, it really is fantastic.

Tips: Pour slowly as you only need a small amount to do the job!

Hmm as I suspected, I think it just didn't suit my hair type. Judging by your profile pic you have quite different (better!) hair to me.
