Dead sea mud pack

These masks are great (I have tried a few now), and they are so easy to apply and don't have a bad smell that you would expect of a 'mud mask'. I manage to get two masks out of one pack as the portion is quite generous, and after about 15 minutes, my skin really does feel fresher and smooth. I get a little bit of a tingly feeling wih the mask on, and it gets a little itchy as it dries, but once removed there was no irritation or redness and my skin can be a bit sensitive at times. I would definitely use these again: added bonus, they are really cheap. Getting two masks out of one pack makes it even cheaper! Why wouldn't you treat yourself when it's such a bargain??

Montagne Jeunesse Dead Sea Mud Pack Mask

I love how these dont smell chemically like alot of masks. Ive tried a few in this brand and they have all be great. My skin is always softer for a day or so, I havnt broken out at all and theyre just overall more relaxing then anything. I do find my pores are slightly smaller, and a little clearer but not much. Packs are easy to use, easy tear open, a little messy as you have to squeeze it out and some product remains in pack but theres plenty of product so go around so no biggy.

An old favourite!

This stuff has been around for ever, and was a staple of home spa nights growing up. The quantity provided is very generous and we would often get 2-3 peoples faces covered. The scent is nice and innocuous, and your skin is left feeling soo smooth afterwards, it is amazing!

Call me Smurfette

I've always been interested in these masks, as the women using them look so happy. Sure it could be 'shopped but it still looks awesome, and it makes me want to use them more.

The foil sachets are easy to open and inside is the awesomely bright blue gloop that smells delicious. It is super smooth and applies easily with fingers or even a brush.

It dries within the 10 minutes its on my face, delighting me with the bright blue color and the amazing smell. It washes off really easily, using either just water or water and a flannel. My skin is always left feeling soft and smooth. I'd repurchase these and others in this range, as they're affordable, last more than one use and they just work.

Tips: When it comes to rinsing off, wet the mask and rub slightly to reactivate the clay - it makes it easier to wash off!

Not as good as Freeman's

I bought this 20g sachet of Montagne Jeunesse 7th Heaven Dead Sea Mud Pac, as I wanted to compare this to the Freeman Beauty Dead Sea Minerals Anti-Stress mask.

I like to decant my sachets into a small pot with a screw top lid, as I find I usually get 3-4 masks out of a sachet when I apply them fairly thinly with a flat foundation brush. Using a brush also allows me to get a nice even layer that dries within 15 minutes and using the tub makes it easy to simply dip my brush in, use as much as I need and close the tub, ready for use next time.

The first thing that I noticed that was different between the two, was the colour. Freeman's Dead Sea Mask is a beautiful turquoise blue, while this Dead Sea Mud Pac is closer in colour to Freeman's Mint & Lemon Clay Mask; it's more of a pale green colour. They both smell very similar, as both contain Lavender and Bergamot.

Montagne Jeunesse 7th Heaven Dead Sea Mud Pac is suitable for use on Combination and Oily Skin, while the Freeman Dead Sea Minerals says it's suitable for all skin types. Both are paraben free and cruelty free.

The nutrient rich minerals in the kaolin clay based mask help to draw out impurities and open blocked pores, leaving skin feeling clean and soft. For best results, it's recommended that this mask be used weekly.

After leaving the 7th Heaven Dead Sea Mud Pac on my face for 15 minutes, I added a little warm water on my fingertips and massaged the mask off, slowly adding more water to loosen the mask. A mild cleanser is listed in the ingredients and this helps to cleanse skin and pores, leaving clean, fresh feeling after rinsing.

Once the mud pac was rinsed off completely, I applied a rich moisturiser and my skin looked and felt like it had been rid of all impurities and had been rehydrated. Hopefully, with weekly use, the rest of this mask will help clear up the breakout that has popped up on one side of my face over the last few weeks!

Overall, to compare the two masks, I found the Freeman mask to be a bit more drying; I left it on for half an hour and it felt like it was sucking all the moisture out my skin! To compare them properly, I left this Montagne Jeunesse one on for half an hour as well, and it didn't feel like this one was squeezing and contorting my face.

The Freeman one seems to work a little better on my very oily skin (it seems to absorb more oil) but the Montagne mask is also good and works well. If I had to choose between the two, I'd definitely buy the Freeman Beauty Dead Sea Minerals Anti-Stress mask again.

Tips: Decant the sachet into a screw top tub and apply weekly. I got 3 masks out of this one sachet.

Fun, clears out some gunk

I got this in a set of six Montagne Jeunesse masks to try. Like the reviewer below me, I noticed this is very similar to the Freeman Dead Sea Minerals mask except I actually prefer this one.

The mask is a bright blue liquid with quite a fresh relaxing scent. It thankfully doesn't smell like seaweed! It dries down easily into a fun blue colour in 15 minutes. I found there was a generous enough amount of product in the packet to get three uses, so I wish the packaging was resealable so I wouldn't have mask leaking everywhere in between uses. The mask didn't itch or tingle and dried nicely. It was also quite fun to have a bright blue Smurf face. It was easy enough to wipe off with no residue or red face afterwards. I have quite clogged pores with a lot of blackheads and congestion. This definitely made my skin feel a lot smoother and less congested and even cleared away some of my blackheads. I would have liked this to have removed as many impurities as it promised but it did an okay job and my skin did look cleaner and less clogged. I wouldn't mind using it again but I have tried stronger mud masks that had more an effect on my skin.

test before use

If you are planning on using this product, I would recommend doing a patch test before applying it to the face, because the mask left me red and itchy!! Other than that my face did have a surprisingly nice smell after the mask!

Great Mask!

I like the big range of masks that Montagne Jeunesse has. I am slowly working my way through so I can pick my favourites. This was my latest purchase. This was only $3 which is a  great price. Sometimes I can get a couple of masks from a sachet. There was tonnes of product in this one and I managed to get 3 masks this time.

I decanted the mask into a small pot so I got no wastage. It is a beautiful blue colour and smells so refreshing. I like to apply masks using an old foundation brush. Far less mess and you use the right amount of product.

My skin is dry and sensitive and I got not stinging or irritation at all. I let this sit for 15 mins. It starts to dry quite quickly. For me it is easier to jump in the shower and wash it off however a hot flannel works too.

Afterwards my skin is left feeling super clean and soft. It looks soothed and has a healthy glow. This does not give me breakouts at all. I love this mask and would definitely repurchase it again.
