Good value palette

I have all the palettes in the urban decay naked range, and was keen to try this out to see how it compares to them as a cheaper alternative.

The packaging is nice and sturdy, doesn't feel too plasticky and cheap like some of the dupe palettes out there. The colours all go well together and there is a good explanation of the duos and trios and quads on the back of the packaging which is great for people who might be newer to shadow to make it easier for them to put colours together.

I found that the shadows are not as pigmented as the UD ones, and require a bit more layering and blending to get the colours payoff, but they have a nice texture.

I found that using an eyeshadow primer made a huge difference to the colour payoff I got, particularly with the lighter colours as they are a bit more chalky and don't apply as smoothly.

Overall it's a really nice little palette for a "drugstore" version of a higher end product, and good for those that want a nude palette without shelling out lots of $$. It's also a great pallette for those who want to practice and experiment with nudes before committing to a higher end product. I would still go for my urban decay naked range before I picked this up, but it's good for what it is!

Tips: Use a good eyeshadow primer to get the best colour payoff.

A classy number

I was fortunate to trial this product from BR. This is a stylish nude palette filled with colours to suit every skin tone. I liked the different eye look combinations illustrated on the back of the packaging; however I found I was selecting my own combinations that I thought worked with my eyes and skin tone. I always use a primer with any eye colour but I noticed you do need to build up the colour and blend. Some of the lighter shades didn’t really show up and some shades were a bit powdery. On the flip side some of the shades were beautifully pigmented and had a smooth blendable finish that lasted. I did use the sponge applicator that came with the palette which I think is a reasonable quality and I also used my own eye brushes when applying. Overall I like this palette, I am reaching for it daily and it’s been living in my makeup bag. It’s an all-round palette which has something to suit everyone and gives the opportunity to create some stunning eye looks.

Tips: If you can try and swatch this first to make sure you are happy with the colours and finishes.

Nice palette

This palette is really quite lovely, the colours in the range are gorgeous. Good mix of shimmery vs matte shades. I really liked how the palette is set up in a logical/complimentary way for you to use colours as duos, trios or quads. The packaging is nice and sturdy, but didn't like the brush (usually dont though). I recommend applyin with a proper eyeshadow bristly brush. In terms of staying power - I tried this on it's own with no base, and it creased within a couple of hours. (this my reason for a 4/5 rather tahn 5/5). I also tried it using the maybelline colour tattoo white shade as the base, and it really helped with the staying power. Using the right brush so you can pack it on will help as well. I am happy with this product and I am sure I will get awesome use out of it!

Tips: Use an eyeshadow base & proper brush to apply.

They never have a decent brush with any eyeshadow palettes. They always have the silly little sponge ends . I need a good brush or two :)

Maybelline The Nudes Palette

I was invited to review this palette but missed out, so had to buy it myself. It was a reasonable price compared to similar palettes on the market. The packaging is attractive and sturdy. Good selection of shades and the pigmentation is really good. This is my first eyeshadow palette, in the past I have used single, double or quad shadows. I prefer to use a brush rather than a sponge applicator, it blends more evenly. A mirror would have been handy as well. These colours are all I need to create a stunning eye.

Tips: Use as a contour as well.

The Nudes

Loce this pallete and i love how they're all nude colours my fave to play with. You can do alsorts of colour combos also got to add a bit of black to make it bolder and apply also primer and concealer first this is a must, i found this out when i forgot to apply those two first the colour was light pale sort of, i fixed the problem re applyed and perfect but all im going to say is love this worth every cent.

Tips: Perfect for crease cut looks, cat eyes, glam any look pretty much that's why i love this.

Birthday Gift

I recived this palette for my birthday a couple of weeks ago and i am in love.

I feel like this is the perfect palette to slip into a handbag for everyday use, It is sturdy so isnt going to bust open and make a mess in your bag, I also love the handy tips of colour choice/placement on the back (great for people starting out).

The colours are great and could be easily used for a natural look during the day or can be switched up for a dark smokey brown look for a night out so its perfect for any unexpected work drinks and just watch to freshen up your look.

My only compliant would be no mirror which is a bit of a pain but hey... its a small complaint to the scale of things.

Overall i love this palette and am so glad i received it for my birthday.

Tips: Using the four colours in squares next to each other are a great combo.

I'm on the fence..

Was stoked to get this from the warehouse on special for $22.. I love MOST of the colours in this, however, I found that the matte shades are not really pigmented which is a shame as the metallics and darker crease colours are Awesome! So not sure how to "score" it.. I still use it by far more than any of my other palettes as I love the gold and bronze look..

Tips: Still buy it as good all round nude palette..

Great for beginers

I picked this pallet up from my local countdown when it was on sale. There are seven shimmer shades and 5 matte shades. You also get a double ended sponge applicator. I like the variety of shades, from a shimmery white to a matte black with nice taupes, browns and bronzes. I feel like you can do a tonne of looks with this pallet alone. The shadows are nice, not overly pigmented but this makes it perfect for beginners such as myself. There is some fall out (which I guess is to be expected) and they blend quiet easily. I would defiantly recommend this product for newbies, and am considering getting the other nude pallets in this line.

Decent Palette for price.

This is a really good starter palette for people who are just getting into makeup and aren't ready to shell out big bucks. There is a great variety of nude shades, including shimmering tones and mattes, making it suitable for many different occasions and suits most skin tones. The colours aren't as finely milled or as highly pigmented as high end eyeshadows but that is to be expected for the price. The black in particular is quite sheer and takes a lot of product to build up to decent coverage. The eyeshadows blend relatively well. However there is also a lot of fall out when applying the product which is annoying. The sponge applicators are typical of cheaper eyeshadow palettes and aren't worth using.

Tips: Use brushes to apply instead of sponge.

A great palette!

For a drugstore product this palette is so pigmented! You can creat so many simple AND glam looks. This was one of my first palettes and I recommend it to anyone who is just starting too do makeup.

Tips: Use your finger too apply the shimmer shadows for more pigment.
