Maybelline Master Fix Setting Spray Review

I got this in a BBBE & it has become a welcome addition to my routine. I have oily/combination skin & after applying all my makeup, I spray and go! Makeup lasts all day. The spray itself is light, and feels refreshing. Little odour, and the bottle itself is a good size to fit in my cabinet, travel bag, but will also last well.

I think at $20 I may just be repurchasing this wee gem.

I received this in the The Ball Beauty Box, which has since sold out. I had never tried a make up spray before this one, so I was interested to see if it actually helped keep my makeup in place.

It actually works! Even though I use a primer everyday, I would still find that my foundation would move around during the day, as well as any concealer I had applied over the top. However, after using this spray my foundation and concealer stays in place. The only time it moves is if I rub my face, or apply makeup remover.

Since it is the only fixing spray I have used I cannot say if it works any better or worse than any other brands, but I am happy with this product. It comes in a simple black pump bottle and it is easier to spray on. The only drawback is the smell, which is a little on the chemical side, but the scent fades pretty quickly.

I wasn't too sure at first about picking this product up as I haven't used setting sprays before and $20 seemed a bit expensive for just a spray but I'm glad I did!

This product really did keep my make up in place all day. The mist is super light and doesn't feel tacky or sticky on the skin. I always use a primer but this defiantly helps. It also helps give your skin a more dewy look which is great. Previously I just used a powder to set my make up but will be using this from now on!

I haven't used a setting spray before but have heard a lot about them. Call me old fashion but I felt a bit weird going to all that effort of putting my make up on.

Then taking a bottle that looks to me like a bottle of hair spray and spraying it over my make up it felt a bit weird till I got use to the distance and how to spray it.

It did help my make up last longer and I kind of felt like it was the finish sprayed don't touch anything it's done nope don't try changing anything it's done.

I was sceptical as to wether this would work or not and was pleasantly surprised , I preform under lights in a band so having my mascara and eyeliner not running all over my face can be a challenge. It sets my brows nicely also . It's a little weird spraying it on your freshly made up face but does dry quickly .

To be honest I am not really sure how to rate this setting spray because of the mixed results I have had with it. This use to be my holy grail! It was affordable, it didn’t leave any milky residue and it worked, what more could you want? However, after using this nearly every day for at least six months I found that it started to become less and less effective. So much so that I did not finish the bottle. I am not sure if the product had gone bad or if my skin had just become so use to that the spray became ineffective? Either way, this is not something I would expect from any kind of makeup related beauty product, especially one that I really like and want to keep using! So, after many months of being very happy with it, I ended up being disappointed.

Absolutely love this! Great price especially compared to many others with much smaller bottles! The larger bottle does however mean it’s not as convenient to pop in your handbag. It disperses pretty well and evenly from it’s spray applicator and really helps set my makeup and my makeup last all day with it instead of fading or sliding off. It doesn’t leave a sticky feeling or shiny look as some do. Will definitely re purchase!

This is an average setting spray. I have been using it for over a year now (large 100ml bottle) but this is more to do with my waste-not-want-not frugality than any love for the spray. It claims to boost wear but, and this is the genius native to all claims on cosmetics, this claim is subjective. Who knows whether it is the spray or the actual makeup that is long-lasting. The matte black packaging is sleek and the pump disperses well. It has a lovely sweet smell.

I received one of these a couple of years ago in a BBBE. It was the first setting spray I'd tried and I remember really liking it (I think I gave it away though, because I never really used it). Now setting spray is apart of my everyday makeup routine and I picked one up on sale about six months ago. I've tried more setting sprays in the last couple of years and I don't like this one as much as I used to.

I think it's okay. It settles nicely on my skin and makes my makeup look more matte, but doesn't make it feel more matte, which I like (if that makes sense lol). I'm not sure if it improves the longevity of my makeup, but I've only found a few setting sprays that make a noticeable difference - and even then it's not much. I like sprays with a fine, lightweight mist and this one isn't as fine as I usually like, but not too bad. I've sprayed too much of it before and it's made my face just feel really wet. It doesn't make my skin feel sticky or leave any residue. I will still continue to use it, and don't regret buying it again, but won't do it again. It's not the main setting spray I use. I think the product would last ages, the bottle is quite big and you don't need a lot.

Very good setting spray, dries down quick and doesn't get sticky in your hair like some can, Not super heavy. Fine as a matte or dewy finish setting spray. Priced well as most maybelline products are and is a decent amount of product so goes a long way.
