Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Eyeliner Review

I've got this in both Black & Brown and this is the only gel liner I use. I have to work quick, because it dries quick. I haven't mastered a flick, but this eyeliner stays put all day. The black is a real dark black and the brown is just a nice subtle chocolate on me.

With all things, practice makes perfect so don't be daunted by this product when you first get it :)

The colour i use is 'Blackest Black' This colour is very strong and bold! It is very easy to apply on but it comes off quite fast, on average on my eyes i would say its lasts me about 5hrs before it starts coming off. The brush and gel last a long time as I have had mine for about a year and still have over half of the eyeliner left! You don't need to use much when applying it. I do like the product but I wish it would stay a bit longer on my eyes.

I tired this in brown, the color is wonderful with green eyes for day or night, its much darker then in the jar, you can layer it a lighter touch leaved a nice brown, another layer will make dark black brown, this product will not budge until you take it off.

Really like how it looks on the eyes but the fact that the brush isn't on the lid really bothers me. I guess it is pretty hygienic though since you can clean the brush but it's also very hard for storage. This stuff is extremely hard to wash off and you have to use it with a light hand or it will create very fat lines!!

I have always struggled to apply eyeliner. Can't draw a straight line, flicks don't match, do one eye too thick so have to redo the other one, end up with panda eyes and wash it all off. Every. Time. I was on the hunt for something different, and had never tried a gel eyeliner before. While at Farmers I picked up and put down multiple eyeliners before settling on this Maybelline one. I liked that it comes with a brush - seemed like good value for money. Before applying the product I applied an eye primer and then a light eyeshadow. I dipped the brush into the product and wiped off some of the excess, and started doing short strokes on my eyelid close to my lash line, and then did a flick at the end. The product glided on smoothly, and the brush was easy to use. I managed to get a pretty decent flick too - usually mine are all wonky! I then did my other eye, and finished up by going over the lines in places to ensure the colour was even. I then went out for 4 hours and came home with no smudges, no fading, AND I was a lazy bum and didn't take my make up off before bed (I know, I know) and obviously it smudged in my sleep but it hasn't faded much at all! I can honestly say this is the best eyeliner I have ever used, so easy to apply, great value for money, much better than a liquid eyeliner!

I have this eyeliner in an aubergine or eggplant colour (purply) - the colour is fantastic and really suits me as I have green eyes :) It comes with a shaped brush which makes it really simple to put on. I really like the consistency of this liner, it's really thick and goes on easily so I just apply a little to the brush for daytime use and put on as a normal liner. At night you can apply more and vamp it up a little! The things I love the most about it is It lasts all day, doesn't smudge and doesn't annoy my eyes. The packaging I really like as it is glass for a start (not plastic), but it is small and easy to throw into your handbag and as the lid twists and clicks on, no chance of it coming off.

It is great value for money as it will last for ages, you don't need to use much. I would recommend this product to anyone for value for money, quality and ease of use, love it although probably not a product for everyone due to having to get the brush and pot out everytime. I would buy this again and would like to try a different colour

This eyeliner is amazing! I have Blackest black and let me just say... It's black. This stuff is the darkest eyeliner I've ever had and surprisingly it actually makes my eyes look much browner in contrast. The little pot it comes in is convenient and tidy to use. I don't actually like the brush because it's a bit too big for me. I prefer precision and like to gradually build the line. So I use a slanted eyeliner brush instead. The consistency is not too thin that it has a nice gel texture but not too thick that it clumps. It stays on great despite my horribly oily eyelids but is so easy to clean off with my makeup remover wipes. (I use almays oil free wipes). I've always preferred eyeliner pens but thought I'd give this a try and I'm liking it! Sure, if I wanted precision then I'd still go for my trusty eyeliner pen but this is better for a dramatic, winged look.

I cannot express how much I love this stuff. It is such a good quality product for such a good price. I use an eyebrow brush to apply it and it works perfectly because I really dont like the brush that it comes with. It is so easy to glide on the lid and it never smudges on me. I have it in Black and Charcoal. I never thought I would like Charcoal since its a dark grey but I actually wear it quite often because its so different. It is very comparable to Mac Blacktrack which I also have but its definitely more worth it to get the maybelline one because it works just as good if not better than the Mac one and its way cheaper.

I was actually reccomended this by a close friend, and I am so happy I was! It was very interesting and different so of course I had to give it a go! I picked it up a few weeks ago from my local pharmacy, and it was $25.

So the first time I used it, it took longer and more control than I had first expected, but it did give me the over all effect that I couldn't seem to get from any other liquid/gel eyeliner. And I had finally found the eyeliner that would give me the perfect,cat eye wing I was dying to have.

It is quite a thick, dark consistency, but super easy to apply with the brush. It takes a little patience but when its done, it definitely gives you the satisfaction you have been waiting for. It lasts for a reasonable amount of time, and though sometimes flakes is relativley long wear.

The packaging is great for throwing in your purse for quick makeup touch-ups on the go, and you don't need a lot each time you apply it so it does last a long time and is great value for money.

Overall the product is great quality, well made and very effective! I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for an eyeliner that they can create a great cat-eye wing look with!

This was a product that I had seen around for a while, but hadn’t had the funds to purchase it, even though the idea of a gel eyeliner intrigued me. Luckily when I was in Australia mid-last year, I brought this for about $10 for the discount chemist. I love a good bargain, and beauty products just seem to be more affordable in Australia.

When I first brought this, I have to admit, I didn’t like it. It took more time and effort to use than my regular liquid eyeliner so I actually put this in the back of my draw for a few months, and only began reusing it in November last year.

This product comes in a small glass container with a black twist lid. The glass container makes the eyeliner reasonably heavy so its sits easy and safely on any flat surface. It also comes with an eyeliner brush, and this was the brush I used for a bit before using my own eyeliner brush from my Napoleon peredis brush set.

I have this gel eyeliner in Charcoal, even though when I brought it I thought it was the black one so it pays to double check the colour on the bottom on the glass container. The formula looks reasonably dark, and is a dark dark grey, and is almost black. The product is creamy, and had small specks of glitter speckled throughout. These specks are so tiny that they don’t look like big chunks of glitter, but are really subtle and add another dimension to the product.

I find this product reasonably easy to apply, but I have to say it is a bit more time consuming than the regular eyeliner. In saying that, when I use the brush this gel eyeliner comes with, or my own brush, I find I can get this product really close to my lash line, and can achieve either a thin line or a thick line depending on the look I’m going for.

Additionally, a little product is all you need to create the look you want so I know this product will last a long time. Another positive is this eyeliner doesn’t flake off during the day like eyeliners I have used. However, it does wear off, and by the time I get home after a long day at work, the eye liner has moved, and I do have the beginnings of panda eyes. So that is one negative about it.

This product is reasonable. It is affordable, well designed and easy to control. I don’t find that it has long lasting hold and that a pain for me as I like knowing my makeup can last all day.

I will finish this off, and I do find it a reasonable back up when I’m low on my regular eyeliners, but I probably won’t be repurchasing this.
