Thanks for choosing me for the trial of Maybelline Superstay Vinyl Ink. The packaging looks superb and attractive. The color is nice however I did not like the sticky feel of this lipstick when applied. I applied gloss to overcome the sticky lips but still it did not help. The superstay is not as great as other Maybelline lipsticks I have. Therefore, I will probably not buy anymore from this range.

I did not love this product, it left my lips feeling sticky and tacky. It doesn't completely dry down on the lips so it feels like a tacky residue. Its also more of a matte finish than a shine finish. I was really excited to try this product as the fact it was a long wear shine finish lip product really interested me as I only have matte long wear products, but the shine doesn't last. The one good thing about this product though is that its highly pigmented and gives a great bright colour and it really does last all day. I just put my fave clear gloss over it throughout the day and it worked great!
Tips: Use a lip exfoliant before using this product, when it dried down it really showed off my dry lips and stuck to any dry skin I had
I am always on the hunt for a comfortable, long lasting lip product that will actually stay in during food and I think I may have found it!
I received the lip colour ‘peachy’ and through many online swatching, I settled on this colour that is a my lips but better colour. This colour was the perfect choice as it is indeed my lips but better and provided a little hint of colour , for those days where you want something just a little bit extra to feel nice! This is also a great choice for work or everyday wear for (stay at home) mums like me who don’t really have many places to go but would like to apply a little lip product to feel nice.
Upon first application, it does feel a *little* but sticky but it settles down after a while and is comfortable to wear and almost invisible and forgotten! There is also a *slight* taste after applying but again like the slight stickyness, it goes away.
I also did specifically apply just before eating something and have to say I think it did last and wasn’t patchy like other longwear lip products. Will have to try with a variety of foods but feel might live up to its name!
Tips: When applying around the cupids bow and curves of lips, apply gently with the tip of the applicator
I love a pretty lippy to give me a pop of colour and add a bit of brightness to my face so I was stoked to of been selected for the Maybelline Superstay Vinyl Ink in the shade Coy (#20) which is a gorgeous mauve/pink.My first impression of the product was how bulky but cute the box-style recycled plastic packaging was.I didn't see any instructions written on the casing however there was a small sticker with the ingredients labeled in very tiny writing that almost required a magnifying glass to read so I just jumped online to the Maybelline website and discovered you actually have to shake the box-like packaging to activate the formula in order for the product to work correctly. The packaging was easy to open and close with a simple twist and the consistency was thin but not watery as such more in between and it was non-drip.I noticed a sweet vanilla like scent on opening which was not too overpowering and the product itself felt very moist and hydrating to apply on my lips,The brush was easy to use and glided nicely and smoothly over my lips creating a very pigmented bold look after just one swipe.I loved the colour pay off which left me with glossy shiny lips but I didn't like how sticky they felt especially after taking my first drink.I also didn't like the weird taste left on my lips almost like a perfume definitely not like vanilla.I did love how my lips appeared more plumper and fuller though and that the lippy did not sink in to any fine lines around my lips accentuating them more as some lippies tend to do.The product really does have lasting power and I found even after eating my lips still had quite a lot of pigment showing through but the glossy and shiny effect didn't last long and the stickiness was bugging me at times.I love the fact that it contains vitamin E and Aloe Vera to help with hydrating the lips and it's great that it's smudge and transfer proof but it's quite pricey for a "drugstore" lippy at around $30 a pop so I'm not sure if I would purchase this in the future due to the stickiness left on my lips.
Tips: Don't forget to shake shake shake to activate the formula in order for it work effectively. To tone down the bold colour you can easily blot with tissue for a more subtle matte look.
I loved the applicator on this lipstick. It really gave me precision applying the product. Great shade range. Mine transferred onto my coffee mug but I think that may have been because I had lip balm on underneath. Did last all day but found my lips were quite dry by the end of the day. Still recommend as the colour pay off was great
Maybelline is a well trusted brand with a long-standing reputation. So having the opportunity to trial the Superstay Vinyl Ink lipstick, I knew I was in for a treat.
The colour I have is ‘35 - Cheeky’. It is a fantastic rosie nude. The package is a cute rectangle with embossed writing on the side. The lid easily screws off revealing an applicator for the liquid lipstick. The applicator brush is angled and a great size for coverage and control. The colour payoff is fantastic and is very long lasting. I have eaten with this on and it still stays. The formula isn’t too thick so isn’t reminiscent of the ultra drying liquid lipsticks of times gone by. The formula stays slightly sticky on your lips but doesn’t transfer. Definitely worth investing!
I was lucky enough to be part of a trial team for this product, in shade 35 Cheeky. The packaging is rather clever, with the word "Vinyl" embossed on the outer, and the container colour matches that of the contents. Its quite a chunky container (you couldn't lose it), but its easy to grab and go. The fragrance is light and kind of a sweet vanilla, but its not offensive or overwhelming. Application is easy, one swipe and you're done, although it is also buildable. This stayed on from 7am until after 5pm, when I added more. My lips felt moisturised all day which I was surprised at, as previous lippys with staying power have become dry and cracked during the day. Cheeky is a lovely shade, but possibly too brown for my complexion. I will certainly look to buy more of this product in different shades. My new go to!
Tips: Apply a light coat, less is more and it is buildable. Allow to dry completely and it stays put.
Wow didn't think I would like this as much as I do! Cool colour I recieved (witty) it was more brighter than the picture shows but that was perfect for me because I don't mind that shade at all. It even makes for a great blush. This applies so easily and does the job at lasting. The packaging is pretty snazzy too and the lippy has such a lovely smell. Can't wait to try the other shades now!
Wow this stays on just like it says it will! Super bright, long lasting but a bit sticky. Definitely would still use it again.
Tips: I did a coat, left it to dry out a bit then did anithdr coat. This made the look a lot fuller and brighter.
I really enjoyed this lip product. The container itself is quite a bit bigger than other lip glosses/sticks etc I’ve tried in the past and it’s in cute modern chunky shape with VINYL embossed in capitals down the side and can I just say as someone with a clutter filled handbag how great this is to quickly find it blindly amongst other stuff when I need to retouch…iykyk. The colour I got was 35 Cheeky and it’s quite a dark mauve. It looked like it was going to be quite bold but it was actually close to my natural lip colour. I’m not someone who wears a lot of colour or anything very dramatic, I’m fair neutral cool toned with a bit of pink and red and struggle to find something that doesn’t throw to orange/terracotta on me. This colour was beautiful for me. The formula is a bit sticky to begin with but it drys down without looking matte, something I’m not used to with a wet look product. The applicator applies product nicely and evenly. I had no issues with it feathering however I did notice it transferred onto my cups and I did need to reapply mainly in the centre of my lips a few times but I enjoyed wearing it. It gave me a wet vinyl finish which I loved and found it wore well considering it wasn’t matte finish even if I did need to reapply. Best part for me was how non-drying the formula was because my lips are prone to dryness so that was a huge bonus for me. Definitely keen to try some of their other shades in this line.
Tips: Keep it handy to re apply. I found it transferred quite easily so something to be weary of.
