Maybelline Superstay Matte Lip Ink Review

I LOVED the colour and look of this lipstick. I got the 'Lover' shade which worked we with my pale complexion. It was so easy to apply and I felt like I didn't have to go out to purchase a lip liner to wear it. It's only downfall was it's texture. Two hours into my initial application it was still sticky! That definitely would not stop me from wearing this product again. The positives well out weighed the negatives. I can't wait to purchase more shades of the Maybelline Superstay Lip Ink.

Confession time! I love matte lipsticks mainly because... i’m lazy! I can’t be bothered doing the top up every 5 minutes so me and gloss just don’t talk at all.

Trouble is with many liquid lip paints/sticks you get that ‘bah bah bah’ feeling when you rub your lips together, you know when they’re super dry (a bit like the roof of your mouth the next morning after too much wine!), so I set out to give this baby the ‘bah bah’ test.

I chose the colour “dreamer” which is a lovely nude pinky shade. The product has a sponge applicator which I liked (rather than a brush) and one dip gave good coverage and it went on really easily.

It dries in about 60 seconds and, here’s the crunch... (wait for it), it literally didn’t come off for 8 hours! I am NOT kidding you! No fade from the edge of your lips leaving you with a bath like ring around your mouth. I gymed, it lunched it, and drank coke’d it and it didn’t budge much from the initial application!!

What is this witchery?

And did it pass the ‘bah bah bah’ test? (Actually i’ve got it on as i’m reviewing it). You betcha it did! So it’s a big fat 5 from me!

I love a good matte lip colour, and am always on the search for a good one that will last, and most importantly not dry out my lips. This Maybelline Superstay Matte ink is pretty great!

The colour is incredibly easy to apply with the wand head, just be extra careful not to get it anywhere you don't want as unlike regular lipstick, it isn't as easy to just clean up with a tissue.

The lip ink stays true to its name as it really does stay on forever! In fact, it stays on so well that it makes it hard to clean up any messy spots you might have left over from colouring your lips, I couldn't even easily get it off with micellar water! Although this is definitely a bit annoying when it comes to removal, it's worth it as the colour won't budge when eating and drinking.

I have experienced that lots of matte lip colours leave your lips feeling dry and slightly chalky after use. I was so happy to find that this is not the case with this product. However, although it isn't massively drying, I definitely wouldn't say my lips felt hydrated after use and would definitely follow it with a good lip balm once you take it off, especially if you're using it frequently.

I must say that as someone who loves matte shades, I really enjoyed this product and will definitely consider getting it in more colours as it is such an exciting range!

Ok so I hav to say the maybelline lip ink is absolutely gorgeous, however this took a few tries to get applied so it looked right. The 1st time i applied this i wasn't quite fast enough and it dried unevenly, so I thought I'd dip the applicator again to finish an this was absolutely the wrong wrong wrong thing to do people. It all went so wrong and felt gluggy, an just looked so patchy so I thought I'd remove it to try it again. This was a huge mission as it states it's a 24 hour long lasting lip ink, ink does NOT remove very easily at all. By the time I had scrubbed my poor lips, they were still partly purple with the ink. So out came the face scrub an make up remover, after a good clean off an a few more tries BAM these lips be Looking hot hot hot. I would absolutely recommend this to my friends that like myself are lippy mad, an would give them the advice of applying fast so they get a good even coverage. This product smelt very good as I applied it, I said it smelt yum an my son told me he needed to smell my lips when he did he said mmm that's delicious mummy. I love the long lasting wear, and the colour.

I love this lipstick. I trialed the colour Escapist. It is a deep, dark, rich purple. I love that the bottle is similar in colour to the lipstick. It was a little darker than I thought it would be but I love it.It smells kind of like caramel. You do need to be a little careful when taking the applicator out, as the lip colour sort of dangles off the end if you don't wipe it on the bottle. The applicator tip is almost almond shape. This makes for easier application. It is quite sticky,but goes on smoothly. This is a super stay lip colour. It lasted through coffees, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and general day activity. I was surprised that it lasted like it did. I had very minimal transfer onto coffee cups, glasses. It looked almost as good when I took it off as it did when I first put it on. I would absolutely pay full price for this lipstick. It does what it says it will and looks gorgeous on too.

I love this product. It stayed on all day even with all the coffee. I often give up on wearing lipsticks as I have to reapply so often but I didn't have to with this. The shade I tried was "Lover" which is a beautiful pink that wasn't too bright for me. It has a lovely fragrance to it also. Easy to apply and comes in a large 5ml. Amazing for the price too. I will be buying more of these.

I am loving the look of the entire Maybelline Superstay range. The packaging is all sleek and minimalistic, but still managing to be pretty and feminine at the sametime. My shade of choice was "Lover", it is a very pretty "blue based" natural pink. It is quite neutral, but doesn't look washed out. Just the right amount of colour pop. The formula is creamy, with intense pigmentation. It has a real yummy vanilla fragrance. The smooth, creamy formulation gives you a beautiful rich colour. The applicator is an almond shaped, so you can sweep over for alot of coverage or you can just use the pointy tip for a more precise accurate application. I tend to stay away from matte lip colours because I have found them chalky and aging. But recently I have begun to admire and lust over the nude matte lip look that Kylie Jenner has made popular. I am excited to say that this product has converted me. It is so comfortable to wear, no dry crusty wrinkly lips! The colour stays put through numerous cups of coffee and glasses of wine. The applicator makes it so easy to apply without a lip brush. I LOVE LOVE LOVE how this product looks and feels! It is now becoming my signature lippy!

This is a big call but this really is the best liquid lipstick! I've got the shade "Lover" it's a nice mauve-nude colour. I put this on at 7.30am and it was still on that night -without topping up! This is a big deal as I work in a call centre so usually talk my lipstick off before morning tea. I also ate meals that I thought would make it come off and it was still staying. I've been raving about these to any of my friends that love lipstick as much as I do. I will definitely be buying more of these in the shade range- they are that awesome.

I was fortunate enough to receive this as a part of the beauty review trial team and chose the colour "Lover" a rosy, dusky pink.

I really like the packaging of this product. It comes in a large tube (5mls!!) that is quiet solid and heavy. It comes with a doe foot applicator which is quiet round but goes to a fine point which is great at precisely applying the product.

The product itself is quiet runny and very pigmented. One dip into the tube is enough to cover both lips. And although the product is thin, it isn't streaky at all. This product really does last all day. I applied it at 6:30 am and it last me through a whole work day, right up until I take my make up off at night. It isn't completely transfer proof, it will fade throughout the day but it does fade quiet naturally.

Sounds like the perfect lip product product? well not quiet. This product has a really strong fake vanilla scent (kinda smells like the outside of a Peter Alexander store) and you do get whiffs of it throughout the day. Whilst I like vanilla, I don't like the scent of this, its very strong and artificial. I also found that this product does not dry down completely, but stays a little tacky. Its not tacky/sticky like a lip gloss, more like when a liquid lipstick isn't quiet dry. I found my lips stuck together a bit. This product whilst tacky, was also quiet drying on my lips. Although it didn't appear crusty, it did dry my lips out and make them feel crusty. Its a rather bizarre feeling when you're lips are sticking together but also crusty at the same time. Because of this, and the super strong scent I found it unpleasant to wear.

I won't continue to use this product now that the trial is over, I would still recommend them to people to try if you are looking for a long lasting lip product. However if you don't like scents or your lip product to be tacky you won't like this product.

I received this matte lip ink in the colour "Lover". It is a bit pink with a touch of purple. It is a bit different to what I was expecting but I am a bit of a lippy fanatic so its all good.

This lip ink comes in a 5ml square tube. The outside colour is similar to the actual product and it. The applicator is oval shaped and has a hole in the middle of it. It is hard, not like a foam applicator which makes it really easy to outline your lips, then fill them in. At this point I will say you do need to be quite careful doing your outline as this lip ink really, really stays in place. So, if you do make a bit of a mistake make sure you have something to wipe it away as soon as possible.

Once you have applied that is it. For the day. The whole day. Lips done.

I drank coffee, water, ate breakfast and lunch, went to the gym all without worrying about my lippy. Amazing!

I will be buying more colours to add to my collection.

This may well be the last lippy you buy, it will last an age.
