L'Oreal Paris Pure Clay Purifying Charcoal Mask Review

I have to start this of by saying that I have acne prone skin with normal type around the cheek area and an oily t-zone. I was so excited to try this mask and I definitely was not disappointed!

It arrived in a compact green box with a window. The product itself came in a square glass bottle with a green lid. Felt very luxurious! As you open the lid there is a protective cover which you have to lift to reveal the mask.

The product inside the jar is dark grey in colour. It isn't goopy but it is thick in nature. There are no bits throughout the mask as it is quite a smooth texture.

I have used this 3 times since I received it. I apply a thin layer using my fingers to my freshly cleansed face. You do not need to use a lot as a little goes a long way! Applies very smoothly without a fuss. I really liked the smell of this mask as I did not find it to be overpowering at all. It says to leave it on for about 10-15 minutes. The mask starts to dry really quickly and as it dries it starts to become a shade lighter. The most satisfying part is that as this mask dries on your face, little dots start appearing on the areas where it seems to be sucking out the most gunk. This also starts to tighten as it dries.

After the 15 minutes is up (and the mask is completely dry on your face), I removed this using warm water and a soft face cloth. It removes just as easily as it goes in which is awesome! I instantly noticed the little blackheads on my nose had decreased in number! My skin felt really smooth and looked amazing. I felt as if the mask had actually taken out all the gunk from the top layer of my skin.

The first couple of days after using this for the first time, I did notice some pimply bumps around my cheek and chin area. I figured this was just due to the mask pulling out all the unnecessary oils from deep within my skin and sure enough, I was right. After the first few days these went away and I was left with great looking skin!

This mask is definitely something I would repurchase again - not that I would have to anytime soon as the amount of product that comes in this is insane! :)

Wow!!! I am totally in love with this pure clay mask by l'Oreal. It has a thick consistency but when applied to the skin it feels so lovely and fresh. I applied less the second time I used it and I feel that less is better. It dried quicker too when less is applied. It has a nice tight feeling on the skin. It's really easy to apply and wash off is easy just use a warm flannel. I am so stoked with the way my skin feels after using this product for even a short time. My skin feels clean, fresh and literally like I've just had a facial. I will definitely buy this product in the future and also recommend to my family and friends as they need to know how good this is. It's my favourite thing I have reviewed so far!!!

I'm normally not a big fan of L'Oreal products. I find them a bit overrated, so going into this trial I wasn't expecting much. However, my opinion changed after my first use and I think this is one of my favourite masks! This mask looks like any other charcoal mask, and the packinging is very nice. I used the mask straight after my shower (after using the face wash from the line) while my pores were still open. It is quite a small jar, but you don't need to use a lot of it - a thin layer will do. I left it on for 10 mins like it said and took it off using a warm face cloth. This was where I started to see some magic happening. As I was taking the mask off, I could see that it had pulled gunk from my pores. I was so shocked. I thought my skin was already cleaned but I guess this stuff was deep down, once it was all off, I did a quick rinse with cold water to close my pores. Straight after my first use I could definitely see some changes. My pores were visibly smaller, my skin looked a lot brighter and clearer! I had a few pimples on my face at the time and the smaller ones looked less red and appeared as if they had reduced in size. I followed with my normal routine - toner and sweet almond oil. My partner even mentioned that my skin looked glowing and healthy. At this point I was already converted but the next day when I woke up, my mind was made up. This was my new fav. I had to big blind pimples on my chin that were red and sore. The next morning the redness was gone and they had significantly reduced in size! I couldn't believe it! Another bonus is that it didn't over dry my skin - even though I have combo skin, whenever I use a charcoal mask, it dries out my skin around my pimples and it just didn't do that with me! I recommend using this with the matching face wash to prep the skin well.

The mask actually smells pretty good when you open the container, so that's a bonus. It spreads on very easily, so you don't need much product - it'll last a lot longer. After leaving it on for 10-15 mins it definitely goes very hard and is quite uncomfortable but that is to be expected. Washed off easily. It definitely made my skin feel softer and I do think it brightened it, would definitely recommend!

It comes in a small glass pottle with a screw on lid, the consistency is thick, charcoal colour and a slight scent of clay.

Just like any other mask, easy to apply. I always apply mine with an angled foundation brush as I find that this works really well for me. Leave mask on for the recommend 10-15 minutes or until dry. As the mask dries, your skin will become increasingly tight. When you're ready, wash off gently with warm water and pat your face dry.

I really like this mask, it leaves my skin feeling fresh and revived. I feel that my skin tone looks more balanced. My daughter's even liked using it.

I would highly recommend and will be repurchasing.

This mask is incredible. Ive been using it every few days and my skin looks more vibrant and radiating. It makes my skin feel so clean and refreshed after I've done it. My skin is very prone to blemishes and ive noticed it has given me more (however, researching I found that this is one way the mask actually cleans out your skin). I have also noticed my face is less red and my blemishes are less red. My skin looks a lot brighter and more refreshed! The mask consistancy is great and you dont have to use a lot (it goes along way). I dont mind the smell of the mask. I will continue to use this mask and tell my friends about it. The price is good for what you get too. I've probably used it a good 6 times and I havent made a dent in the amount. It does leave my skin feeling soft. I am not giving it 5/5 due to the breakouts, which have began reducing. THIS IS HOW THE MASK WORKS. I can use it anytime, due to it only taking 10 minutes, I can fit it into the week. The blemishes have been reducing as I keep using the product. I recommend this product!!

Out of the three different masks in the range, I have been using the detoxifying and brightening one, twice a week. I have used a few different charcoal clay masks before and didn't like them so wasn't too sure if I would find this one any good either. Other masks I have used similar to this one seemed to have sapped every bit of moisture from my skin instead of just detoxifying/cleansing it, so it has been a bad outcome as I already have dry skin to begin with. The Loreal pure clay mask hasn't done this at all and instead it has left me with very soft and clear skin, and my skin seems a little brighter overall. The product comes in a jar, and is a dark grey colour. Once applied it doesn't take too long to dry and didn't make my face itch either. The mask has a really nice fragrance to it aswell. Definately has become one of my favourites, and by far the best charcoal/clay mask I have personally used.

I was excited to try this product thanks to BR! It comes in a 50ml tub and is super easy to apply. I had no issues simply applying with my fingers. I left it on for about 10 minutes and washed it off with a warm flannel. I have sensitive skin so it can be difficult finding face masks that don't irritate my skin or leave it feeling hot and itchy. However this one worked a treat. My skin did feel a little tight afterwards but nothing moisturizer can't fix. The mask left my skin feeling smoother, refreshed and more vibrant. Overall I enjoyed using it and I really liked that you could see all the oils being pulled from your skin.

Don't you love a good product that you can pick up from the supermarket?! I know this will be a regular buy for me from now on, its so good!

The packaging is classy and applying the mask was easy - I just used my fingers to spread a thin layer over my face. I left for the recommended time of 10-15 minutes before washing off with warm water and a face cloth.

It did take a bit of scrubbing around my nose to remove completely but overall it was a pretty easy task.

My skin was glowing immediately - it felt incredibly smooth and rejuvenated.

I've been using this mask every four days, I LOVE IT, in fact I think it might be the best face mask I've used!
