Best Semi Permanent hair colour i have tried!

When this box arrived, the packaging was just like any other. The smell however is not. It smelt really fruity and yum! Definitely a good start! it came with the plastic applicator in the box as well, but not a brush type one, so i tried to use a comb as well. The dye itself was creamy and thick so when it went on to the hair it would stay in place! I had none drip at all, i didnt even use a cap over my hair or anything, I have a LOT of hair, so i would recommend getting 2 boxes and using both since my hair is also very long. I left the product in my hair for about 30min and then had a shower. The result? Absolutely FANTASTIC. My hair was super glossy the next day and it felt conditioned. It was really soft and it just glistened in the sun. The only issue i would have is that it doesn't last as long as is stated in the box. After about 8 washes i definitely noticed a dull in hair colour. But this is a non-permanent hair colour. It does what it states, i was absolutely blown away with the colour and i will be a repeat customer. There are a lot of different shades to choose form too!

Tips: I would use 2 boxes of dye if your hair is quite long and you have a lot of it, like i do. Also, it comes with the plastic applicator but not a brush type one, so i used a comb at the same time too to comb the dye through, And lastly, if you can minimise hair washes with shampoo i would do that if you want your colour to last as long as possible!

Casting Creme gloss :-)

I have waited till the very last minute to write this review as I wanted to do a few washes first, and I have to say that' it's pretty much exactly what it claims to be, a non permanent colour that leaves hair glossy, super conditioned and a lovely colour for a few weeks ;-)

After easy application of an ok smelling product which was simple to apply it left my hair super shinny and feeling great! All ticks in my books!!! The colour wasn't as noticeable as a permanent like I would usually use but it had good coverage and my hair felt amazing for a long time!! 12 days and counting !!

Was perfect time of year for me to use it as I like a lighter look in the summer

Loreal Casting Creme Gloss # Iced Truffle

I was super excited to trial this product as I had often seen it in the supermarket but as it was a bit more expensive then my original go-to hair dye that I knew covered my greys I'd been a bit apprehensive about trying a new product. This dye certainly was better than I expected and I would definitely buy this again.

The instruction sheet was clear with good pictures and wording. The info sheet gave good tips for if hair had been coloured +/- 3months and if covering grey hair was your goal. The gloves were certainly not as big as most home dye products - if you have small to average sized hands they would be great, if you have larger hands (like me :)), these gloves would definitely be too small.

The dye itself was easy to mix and apply. The smell was actually quite nice :) It had a very faint chemical smell - no where near as strong as other supermarket dyes! If you have thick hair or long hair past your shoulders you would definitely need more than one bottle - I have thick wavy hair midway between my chin and shoulders and there was only just enough product to cover my hair.

The dye turned very dark very quickly - I chose a medium-dark brown colour and by 15mins I was starting to get alarmed my hair would turn out black so I only left the dye on for 20 mins (they recommend 25mins if trying to cover greys). Great even and natural colour. Initially it did come out darker then the colour on the box but within a few washes it faded nicely to the colour on the box and has not faded more than that yet. It did give good coverage of greys, however a few have started showing through after approx. 1 1/2weeks after dying hair. My hair had a great shine to it and didn't seem quite so "damaged" as it often does after dying it so would definitely consider using this product again. Heaps of condition was given in the bottle - enough for me to use it twice which was great!

Well worth the cost and so far has done a great job - will be interesting to see how long it last for!

Yay for semi permanent hair colour!

This is the only semi that I can consistently find, mostly just racks and racks of permanents. I use the light medium brown for grey regrowth coverage. It covers the greys about 90% which I like as it means the dyed section isn't just a bland flat colour. Semi is also good as it it is kinder to your hair than permanent dye and also there isn't such a harsh regrowth line so I find I can go longer between touch ups.

Tips: For extra saving I make my box last two touchups, as I don't need the whole box for doing my roots. First time I pour half of the tube and half of the bottle into a plastic container and mix them up and use on my roots. I replace the lids and eight weeks later I squeeze the remaining tube to the bottle and shake for the second touchup, 2 for 1, works a treat.

Brown

I bought it and applied to my hair during holidays because my mum finally approved it. My hair is black in colour but I wanted it to be in brown. After I used it, my hair turns out to be a very silky brown, and my hair still feels good, not feeling thick and rough. After the holiday has ended, I had to dye my hair back to black, and a few days later I started to notice that the black dye is removed bit by bit. It turns out my hair became brown again because the black dye is washed away day by day.

Fabulous shine, brilliant colour

I use this every 6 weeks or so it's so easy to use and gives a good colour match to the box for the applicable natural shade. I have no greys yet (luckily) but as I am trying to maintain my natural level but get rid of the mousey colour this is perfect. No need to to have a horrible regrowth this eventually washes mostly out ready for the next refresh. Leaves my hair so much healthier than using a permanent colour and gives amazing shine

Tips: This is not a colour that lightens

A Good Choice For Touch Up Colour

After reading lots and lots of reviews I settled on L'Oreal's Casting Creme Gloss for my hair colour.

The colour isn't as stinky as many when applying (possibly because it has no ammonia) and has held well.

I didn't really see a gloss but some of those around me thought it looked a little glossier when first applied.

The accompanying shampoo is in a small bottle which is a much better design than those silly sachets many brands go for.

I would use it again

Tips: If you're not sure about your shade heed the suggestion to go for the lighter of the two shades you deciding between.

This hair color is formulated nicely

without ammonia, which makes it a gentle option for those concerned about hair damage. My hair is really sensitive so this is good for me and also It leaves your hair shiny and looking pretty after you style it and with colouring your hair, this product also works as a conditioner. The colour is not too orangey and has a nice undertone as I'm darker skin and I also use purple shampoo sometimes.

Would buy again!

At first I was a little put off by the price, I normally dye my hair quite dark to black and because you can't really go wrong with a dark colour I am normally happier spending closer to $12-$15. It was a darker brown shade that I used and I didn't really realise the benefits until a few washes later. There was definitely less fade in comparison with cheaper brands that I've tried, and a smoother and silkier appearance overall that actually lasted the distance. Price well worth it.

Tips: For hair dye in general I wouldn't do an at home job if I had lighter hair, so I'd do a bit of research before trying a lighter shade.

Great Hair colour

I used this product last week to colour my hair. I haven't had any grey hairs yet so I can't comment on how well it colours those. However I can say that it definitely covered up all my past hair colours that I haven't cut off or grown out yet. I loved using this hair dye without the ammonia as I hate the smell of ammonia and it can sometimes make me itchy. All in all a great product.

Tips: Make sure you wipe of any dye that is on your skin right away as it is a bit harder to remove an hour later.
