L'Oréal Paris ELVIVE Total Repair 5 Restoring Shampoo

I have quite long, thick, damaged hair. This conditioner promised to make it feel healthier, softer and silkier, as well as repairing it. To some extent it did, but it didn't work as well as my Redken conditioner. I also didn't notice any difference in the health of my hair after using it for the full trial period, despite using it every day.

I'm only half-way through the bottle at the end of the 4 week trial period, so at least it last for a reasonable period of time.

This product was amazing! It did everything it said it would. What I loved the most was when I blow dry my hair it looks silky smooth and it doesn't look damaged at all. Have already recommended this product to friends, I know if I love it they will too

I have my hair lightened every 4 to 5 weeks so its always in need of a little tlc. I usually use a salon exclusive brand so was excited to try a mainstream product.

The packaging was appealing, I liked the little gold detail on the label giving it a bit more lux than your average mainstream product. Also the shape of the bottle felt good to hold and was easy to squeeze.

The scent was lovely, not too floral or sweet and not too overpowering.

The shampoo foamed up amazingly and I didn't need much product at all. It felt lovely and rich in my hair, and left my hair feeling really clean.

To be honest I never noticed any major difference to my hair but maybe that was because I usually use a very good product anyway? In saying that I also never noticed the condition of my hair get any worse so it kept up pretty well.

The smell of this shampoo is absolutely amaaaaazing, it was one of the first things that enticed me about this product. I loved just letting it sit in my hair for a minute or two just so I could take in the smell.

I can definitely say that this shampoo cleans my hair, because my hair was literally squeaky clean! I also found that it made my hair easy to manage, looked and felt thicker, and shinier and smoother. My hair now has lots of volume, even when I straighten my hair (usually it's my wavy hair that gives it volume) . Absolutely in love and will purchase again.

First thing I want to say is that the smell is divine and I would use this shampoo again if it were just for the smell.

In terms of what it claims to do and what it actually does is a little different. I feel like it gave me shine and more fullness however, I think they may have been all it did if anything I may have more fall out since.

I would probably go out and buy this again as it is average and doesn't break the bank

I have been using this shampoo twice a week for about three weeks. While the ends of my hair are quite dry, the roots and top parts of the strands of my hair (where I mainly apply my shampoo) are actually fine and do not suffer from any dryness. I do however, get dandruff on my scalp.

This shampoo cleaned my hair well and did not leave it feeling greasy. I found it lathered really well and was easy to rub into my hair. You don't need a lot of shampoo to work the product into you hair. I did notice that my hair felt very soft and felt refreshed, but no more than any other shampoo. I didn't find that this shampoo made a significant difference to my hair and didn't add anything special. I haven't noticed any difference to the strength of my hair either.

The shampoo comes in a normal bottle with a lid that clicks shut, and was easy to dispense out of the bottle. I adore the smell of this shampoo. I smells very light and fresh with a fruity hint to it.

Overall, I did like this shampoo and enjoyed using it, but didn't find it added anything special. I probably wouldn't repurchase this shampoo unless it was on special.

Maybe it's just that my hair is trying its hardest not to be affected by products of any kind, but this didn't really do much for me. It definitely didn't look fuller or feel stronger, as the product description promised. I've been using it for about a month now and have seen no change - good or bad - in my hair at all.

It smells nice and the packaging is pretty, but as it didn't do much for me, I don't think I'd be rushing out to buy it again. I'd probably buy it if it was on sale and I didn't see anything else i wanted to try. I don't know. It's so-so :(

To be honest I don't really believe that there can be too much of a difference between shampoos, especially supermarket brands, so as long as they clean my hair well and smell good I am pleased, and this one did that! I do believe that the range as a whole is effective in repaying damage to some extent but I don't think that the shampoo has a part in that. I do like that it is not at all drying and feels like it gets my hair clean without stripping it at all like some other shampoos can do. Overall i'm not particularly passionate about it but I always like to have matching shampoo and conditioner and I like the conditioner so I would be very likely to use it again.

I have long, dry, frizzy hair so i was excited to try out this product. for the affordable price this shampoo is amazing. I loved the smell the second i opened it, it lingers in your hair all day keeping your hair smelling divine. the bottle is simple and the product was easy to squeeze out. this product made my dry hair felt softer and silkier after the first wash and i noticed it dried less frizzy. i was really impressed with this shampoo and will defiantly be repurchasing in the future

I was lucky enough to trial this through the lovely Beauty Review themselves and I have mixed feelings with it.

So lets talk packaging, its a nice size and lasts quite a while, easy to get out of the tube. Also it has a great lid that opens and shuts easily so no problem of spilling.

The formula is nice and thick and smells really nice, almost to the point where I want to douse my whole body in it not just my hair. It has a nice fruity type fragrance to it but can't quite put my finger on it exactly.

Using the Shampoo: So upon my first time trying the shampoo, I added an amount to my hand and lathered it into my hair. Unfortunately I found that i had to add quite a generous amount to my hair and found it quite difficult to lather. So I added a little bit more water to my hair and then it started to lather up really well. Rinsed out fairly easily but left my hair feeling quite dry.

Results: It did leave my hair feeling quite nice and clean but definitely need to use a conditioner with this (please see my conditioner review in the same brand for more details).

I found that I had to wash my hair a little more frequently with this but it did bring a nice shine to my hair.

I gave it 3 stars because its was a nice shampoo, felt good and smelt heavenly but deducted stars for the lathering side of things and the having to washing my hair more frequently.
