I am very cautious about using any type of scrub on my face as they can be quite harsh and dry my skin out.
But this one surprised me. First off, the packaging is nice, the box states the most important details about the Sugar Scrub and the colour of the box is in the same tone as the actual scrub. The like how the container is square glass and the lid is easily removed even with wet hands.
The product itself is a thick but the finely ground sugar mix doesn't fall off the fingers. It smells yummy and sweet. It's is thick but the Grape Seed Oil and Monoi Oil help it spread easily on the skin with no pulling.
I applied it all over my face except eyes. I rubbed in light circular movements all over and then I applied some water to my fingertips and exfoliated a bit longer, adding more water to my fingers until the Sugar Scrub melted. Once I rinsed it off, my skin texture felt soft, fresh and smooth, I had a slight glow and amazingly it didn't feel tight nor did I feel the need for moisturiser.
I have used this three times now and like how my skin doesn't feel tight or dry and love that it has a smoother feel as my makeup goes on better and seems to last a bit longer to.
I am in love with this product and will be buying more once I have used this all up.
The packaging for this scrub is a bit unusual it comes in a glass jar similar to their recent face masks (which are amazing by the way!). With long nails I did find it a bit hard to get the product out nicely with gouging into it. The product itself is quite thick and you only need a small amount.
I popped a few bits on my face and then the instructions said with wet hands massage until sugar melts. Which is a different technique to what I normally do with scrubs, but thought it would be best to try it the way the product was intended. I actually liked using it this way as it was gentle yet effective, and left my skin feeling soft and lightly buffed. I didn't feel that it really made my skin 'glow' like other scrubs I had previously used but I definitely liked the product itself but may try one of the other types of scrubs they released with this one.
One of the main things I didn't like about the product was the smell it was sweet but with a bit of a tangy side maybe this has to do with the grapeseed oil? Its not horrible just a bit unusual.
Overall the product is nice and a great gentle scrub when following the instructions, would love of them to maybe put it into a tube style packaging for ease of use.
Tips: Just wet your fingertips and use a slow circular motion to buff into your skin until the sugar melts away.
