Oh Honey!!

I was so excited to receive the Honey Babe baby range by Wild Ferns to review! This will be my first time using anything from Wild Ferns. In this package I reveived a Shampoo & Wash, a Barrier Crème and a Massage Oil.

As for the packaging; the cream and massage oil came in beautiful cream, orange and gold embossed boxes. Its got a picture of a baby on a manuka flower floating on honey. The soap just came by itself. The 100g cream came in a tub with twist top and so did the oil which was 120ml. The soap was 140ml and had a pump bottle. They are convenient size. Easy to travel with and pop in the diaper bag.

Now lets get on to the products: firstly the shampoo & wash has a no tears formula so thats gonna make bathtime so much more fun. It has a mild familiar scent (that for the life of me I cant recognize) and is easily dispensed. 1 pump is ok to wash hair and face but if like me you want lots of lather than by all means use 3-4 pumps for the body. Skin and hair was left soft with a lingering mild scent.

Now for the Barrier Crème; its creamy and very luxurious and thick. I just needed a little bit at a time as it spreads easily on skin and leaves an oily residue ( in a good way!). Its got a mild scent-nothing overpowering. Works okay but need regular application because the cream rubs of easily.

Lastly for the Massage Oil. Where can i start? I just love this product. It will always be my favourite from the bunch. Its easily dispensed. Got a stopper on top which allows only drips to come through so no wastage. Its a little bit thick and has a very pronounced scent. Absolutely delicious which is dangerous cause you dont want to go about biting your baby no matter how sweet he smells! Spreads and absorbs easily on the body leaving a healthy sheen ( note to myself: use on legs after shaving). And also washes out easily. I have used it on my hands before sleeping and its so calming and soothing. And the skin is left soft and supple.

I would recommend parents to give this range a go. They might just find their new favorite. If you only want to try one product than give the massage oil a go. You wont be disappointed.

P.s baby boy didnt react to any of these products and when i asked him his view he said: bababababa pprrrrrrr!

Tips: To get decent lather, I recommend 2-3 pumps of soap on a wet washcloth.

There will be a more in depth review of each product tomorow:)

Honey Goodness

Was super excited to take part in this trial Shampoo with 2 under 2 we use a far bit of baby products as they both love bathtime.

I recognise the master brand Wild Fern from tourist shops and gift shops so was skeptical about quality and chemicals. But looking into ingredients they aren't too shabby.

They are also pretty affordable products just harder to source than some competitors.

Shampoo and wash This has a slight honey fragrance and love the pump bottle, so so handy when bathing 2 slippery wet little ones. All natural product is a huge bonus

Tested on both Miss almost 2 and Mr 9 weeks hair.  Shampoo frothed easily and was super easy to rinse out.  Was worried it would dry my daughters very curly hair but it dried beautifully. My son doesn't have much hair so hard to comment,  he did gave cradle cap a few days later but I'm sure it's not related to the shampoo.

As a bodywash there was no reaction from their super sensitive skin. Nor did it appear to dry their skin out. They were both left delicately fragranced.

Nappy balm Same delicate honey scent as other products in range.  In a tub which can be tricky when changing nappies.

None of my babes had nappy rash over the trial period so I can't comment if it helps. But will update when we get some.

Product itself is super easy to apply and doesn't stain unlike zinc based nappy creams.

This stuff is fantastic as a hand cream, makes my hands super soft. I highly recommend the brand promote this or even sell it as a hand cream.

Massage oil

Again dispenser is fantastic as oil is pretty fluid. Oil was has same fragrance as others in range oil was light and absorbed easily.

Finding time for baby massage is tricky, so I also added this into bath which was great when babies skin was bit dry. Use extreme caution though as things get crazy slippery.

Overal lovely product to gift for a baby shower and will most likely repurchase.

Honey Babe Baby care

The lovely team at beauty review sent me this cool mystery baby care pack. It consisted of the Honey Babe Shampoo & Wash ,Honey Babe Barrier Creme and the Honey Babe Massage Oil. They come well packed and in pretty packages. The shampoo and wash comes in an easy pump bottle. It has a nice feel to it and a light fragrance that I enjoy smelling off my baby. The barrier creme is fantastic, my favourite of the three. It comes in a little pot and is easy to use. It's thick and spreads well. We've been known to have rashes and therefore cautious of what we use , but I loved how gentle this is for my baby. The massage oil comes in a bottle , easy to pour. Not very sticky and gets absorbed fairly easily. It's a great little addition to our bathtime routine. And like it says on it, it works well on tired mamma's too. Would surely consider buying them next time around.

great trial

the msystery baby care trial was something i was really excited about, theres nothing better then trying to find new products to use on your baby that are natural , its the first time ive used one product for 3 different things and i actually enjoyed it , instead of using all different brands so i recommend more mothers try doing this as the smell is all the same and it makes it so much easier as you know if one product works they all will , one product that really stood out for me was the shampoo&body; wash and i love how it comes with a massage oil but i found the barrier cream wasnt as good as it could of been ( after only using it for a week) but im going to continue to use it to see what happens. the massage oil is great i just wish it came in a bigger bottle which could last longer but it most definetely does calm your baby.

Tips: when using the massage oil squeeze it on to your baby and rub rather then into your hands.

Wild Ferns Honey Babe trial

Firstly thank you BR for selecting me to trial this on my totddler and introducing this product to me.

I got to trial the wild ferns honey bee range on my toddler who suffers from dry and sensitive skin and is prone to eczema as well, so trialling these was a blessing. It is NZ made, free of all the nasties, all natural and has Honey! You cannot go wrong with that.

I would start with the massage oil and give him a shower and use the barrier cream twice daily. Once in the morning and at night before bed. I also tried giving him a wash first put on the barrier cream and than use the massage oil before putting him to bed. Personally I don’t think the oil

did anything for calming him but more details are in the product review.

These products applied on really well and absorbed into the skin instantly without making it look oily. The Shampoo and wash did what it said it would do leaving the skin soft and clean leaving a mild pleasant fragrance. The barrier cream has been my fav out of all three products. Really easy to apply and the results on my child has be awesome. No red flare ups or marks. yay. It even helped calm his eczema which is great.

All three products are very easy to use and smell great. Overall I found that this did help calm my child’s skin and he did stop complaining about itchy skin. All are packaged and labelled nicely with very brief descriptions on how to use. Price wise I do feel they are a little costly compared to the package sizes but if it stops my child form having rashes and helps calm his eczema than it is definitely worth it. I would recommend this to others as overall I feel that it does do what it says it will. Would be nice if a body lotion for babies came out in this range I would certainly be buying that.

Tips: Great product. Good for babies with eczema and sensitive skin. Does what it’s supposed to and smells lovely as well.

The Mystery Baby (and mummy) care trial pack.

This product range has no mineral oil in it Mineral oil contains toxins even in its "cosmetic grade" form, it clogs the pores it does not actually provide nutrients just gives lubrication to skin in a nut shell the research out there is that mineral oil is bad for you this is scary because without going into brand name shaming it tends to be in ALOT of cosmetics such as vaseline, baby oil and also many of the "good" creams used for baby rash. This mineral oil free range is fantastic in terms of actually being healthy and providing nutrients, vitamins & minerals to the skin & hair. The stuff in the range is ethically sourced, Chamomile, Avocado oil, aloe vera and sunflower oil, to name a few providing healing, soothing repairing hydrating nourishing benefits while being gentle and anti-bacterial. Rose Hip oil can provide ant-aging properties great to use on the skin of a tired mum. You have heard of herbs & aromatherapy to help calm and relax right? well the oil in this range can be used to help calm and de stress and in case your wondering if it contains lavender to help put baby to sleep you are wrong! All the products are only lightly scented and uni sex. If you are looking for a range that seems high end but is still quite affordable, suitable for the whole family and sensitive skins then this range should be considered. The shampoo will not hurt your childs eyes, there are no harsh sulfates your little ones hair will not be left dry & dull as it only gently cleanses without stripping the natural oils. Certified high quality Manuka honey is in this range with an over 80% analysis of the pollen. Bee pollen has been described as a near perfect food if you have not already heard why honey is so valuable you need to!. The Packaging of the products is beautiful not large and bulky so ok for travel and it has a cute baby asleep in a flower on it. The additives are not all in chemical jargon so they are traceable. I plan to try the oil on my stretch marks in the next few weeks. I like how my little girls and my skin seems to drink up the products the easy absorbing shows that the products are not just sitting on the top of skin they are penetrating deeper. As a mum of 1 little lady I feel good knowing that the range really is healthy and it feels like I am providing my child with what is the most natural nutrient-rich range I have ever tried or seen out there for babies. I looked on the brand website and the range looks to be reasonably affordable and when it is so healthy and the products are multipurpose I think I might have to buy them. The brand has a great website they do not test on animals and I like their philosophy check it out. I used these products on my sunburn, my face and my childs nappy rash for the details check out the reviews on the individual products.

Enjoyed this product range

Generally I loved these trial products with the exception of my bubs stubborn nappy rash. Using the body wash in combo with the massage oil felt very luxurious and was a nice bonding time with my new baby.. I love the idea of using such natural products and ingredience on her skin and I think overall this product range delivered.

Makes a lovely gift

This range is great for a present for an expectant mum. A natural low irritating formula's that both mum and bub could use. Bonus that it's a nz brand and they work.

NZ natural for my baby

I confess I was a little hesitant to put my hand up for this as I'm pretty cautious about what I put on my baby's skin. When the products arrived I immediately checked the back to see the ingredients. I was really excited to find they didn't contain artificial fragrance. As a bonus, they still smelt lovely!

The three products I received to try were a barrier balm, a massage oil and a body wash.

The barrier balm was the one I found the most useful. The texture is similar to a body butter and I ended up using it liberally all over my baby girl, as her dry skin is prone to eczema. As a bonus, the size is great for fitting in the nappy bag or travel bag. I've ended up using it as a bit of a one-product-all-jobs. It wasn't quite as heavy and oily as my regular barrier cream (Tui balm), but that difference is made up for by the fact I can use this one for all kinds of jobs.

The massage oil was again a pleasant scent. Although I did use it on my baby, I confess I'm not much of a baby massage person (am I the only one whose kids get super impatient and wriggly when you try to massage them?) and I'll be finishing this bottle up on myself (a suggestion they have on their packaging!). However if you are a baby massage person, this is a great, gentle NZ option.

Finally the body wash. I found this a nice, soothing, gentle wash, again with no ingredients that I was worried by.

My only criticism of these products is that I found the scent lasted a little long - and I like my baby smelling only of baby! However, these are a really good option if you're looking for gentle, NZ made products for your little one.

Tips: If you're looking to try one product, I recommend the barrier cream.

Bee my baby

First up we gave the shampoo and body wash a go. A cute pump bottle with the most adorable baby on the packaging. A little went a long way. One small pump for my sons short golden locks and two for my long curly haired toddler. It was a white creamy shampoo and created a small lather that made their hair feel squeaky clean. When dry their hair was super shiny and soft. The one things we coukdn't agree on was the smell. Partner loved the smell he thought it smelt like smokers lollies?? Toddler loved the smell and thought it smelt like chocolate?? I on the other hand liked the smell but thought it was a little strong. It did smell delicious on dry hair but wet hair just a little too strong for my liking. Did the job though and my son smelt deliciously good to snuggle with in the morning.

Following a wash we used the barrier cream. It has been a challenge to find a good barrier cream. Some are too thick, synthetic, don't work.. you name it we have tried it. I had settled on using a baby bottom butter but that too had its issues. This one is amazing! I couldn't fault it. The cutest, littlest, squish of a baby on the box - honestly it shatters my ovaries! Within that a pottle. Great size and seal on the lid. Inside is a white, non greasy but easy to apply cream that leaves skin feeling nourished. It really does work - we used this on my sons groin area as he is in a nappy overnight and for long periods during the day. It didn't clump and he didn't go red, raw or peel.. It did a great job protecting him from the effects of moisture from a nappy. I also used it on my lips and hands - it didn't say not to and it felt great.. soft and nourishing. The smell of this was amazing not too strong.

We usually use a lavender massage oil as there aren't too many out there for babies.. I find the lavender quite strong. So was looking forward to trying this one and I was not disappointed. Again the adorable baby on the box and within a pottle - with a slightly different label design style to the other products a very simple stylish pottle. Twist top lid and bottle stopper.. which I love nothing worse than a product leaking all over the bathroom cabinet after use or if knocked. Was a nice clear liquid so I didn't have to worry about it staining clothes. It was non greasy and readily absorbed while still leaving the skin feeling soft and moisturised. As a bonus my hands have been suffering with the change in season and I think this has helped them.. they were splitting at the knuckle but the skin seems to have retained moisture so are healing nicely.. yay. The size and price are good.. compared to an oil I have purchased for use on myself and the lavender oil for my son it seems high quality and reasonably priced. I think I will be purchasing for myself for my next pregnancy to help with that tummy itch. The smell again was amazing - loved sniffing my son.
