I've used this dye a few times as a pastel colour as well as a darker dye. As a pastel i found it was far too much maintenance for a hair colour and gave up, I had purple streaks for a month after i'd initially died it. I recently re-dyed my hair with this product and it lasted well over a month (still vibrant) with no re-dyes. I also love that it isn't tested on animals and is vegan!!!!!

I used the Manic Panic Turquoise colour to dip dye the ends of my hair and the colour was very vibrant and looks great. It also held it's colour for a while. After a while it did start to look a bit green in the ends, but this was to be expected with temporary colour on blonde hair. Out of all the hair dye brands I have used for vibrant colours, this was definitely the best.
Tips: If you're wanting to use this product and not naturally blonde. I would recommend bleaching your hair before hand.
I find that manic panic is good but the lasting power isn't as strong as directions which is my go-to. In saying that, manic panic has some colours that I prefer such as electric lizard which is the best yellow toned lime green I have ever used! Manic panic is good if you want the colour to fade out, but if you want long lasting bright colour you will need to do a lot of touch ups while using manic panic.
Manic Panic was the first Semi colour that I actually got a result from when I was trying to go Purple. I fell in love with how the colour looked, it was bright, it was in your face it was PURPLE!
However, there is virtually no real staying power. My heart broke a little when I took my first shower 2 days after dying my hair. I was bathing in a waterfall of purple, as all that goodness rinsed away. I got about 2 weeks of decent wear out of this before it needed a serious re-dye to breath life in to it again.
I used this on pre-lighten hair and while it does make the results more vibrant to begin with, the lighter your hair, the less likely the colour will hold.
Tips: Bright coloured hair styles are high maintence so regular touch ups will be required.
If you can hold a strand of your hair up to the light and see through it, keep in mind colour is more likely to stain long term and also less likely to keep it original colour for long.
I have used a few of these different coloured pots in my time but the most recent was an ultra violet that I put onto my natural dark blonde hair after using Manic Panic lightening kit so it was onto an almost white base, this made the colour a pretty pastel violet shade that sat in my hair for about 2 weeks until it had faded completely out leaving my white hair behind oh and dark roots, not a great look.
1 pot was not enough for my shoulder length, thick hair so I had to use 2 pots and even then I think I could have used half of another to get a more even look as the colour itself is quite thick and doesn't spread easily, well it does spread easy over the floor, walls, clothing, skin, etc.. however this was nothing a little bleach and damp cloth didn't clear up after I had finished putting the colour in.
Tips: As much as you cover up you will get this everywhere it is the nature of the beast, be prepared with damp cloths and towels you don't mind ruining (I always keep a set for dying my hair only) and have some bleach of mold out to get off of surfaces especially baths and sinks which can be porous.
I used Manic Panic as my first attempt at fashion coloured hair. It took a while to apply as I didnt want to miss a spot, and it was thicker than normal hair dye.
No major complaints about the product itself. No harsh smell. Colour looked great.
Downside it that it stains everything it touches during the dying process, and then once you rocking your bright hair - it fades crazy fast.
Was fun to give this brand a try, but will stick to different brand in the future.
I had finished my fudge paintbox so went to find a store that sold something similar. I was told Manic panic was good, I purchased it for $30, I got deep purple. Its a round container and I found it difficult getting dye out as I didn't have a brush to dip it into the product. The colour lasted 5-10 washes for me, I was able to use this dye 3 separate occasions. I prefer fudge paintbox than this one.
I have only used this brand for dying my hair purple what I found was that my hair didn't take the dye too well if I added too much conditioner however, if I added it straight to my hair it took colour really well it even took a little of the brassy tones out of my hair. I also found that it washed out really easily :( I will try it again if possible
Tips: Wash your hair with cold water and minimise the shampoo
I used the violet purple colour on my hair which was previously blonde obmre, hoping for a purple ombre look instead. Initially the colour was amazing! So much brighter than I'd hoped for. The only downside was that the colour came off onto everything and my hair felt quite chalky. I had purple hands for 2 weeks! It didn't wash very well but that is to be expected being a semi I guess. I would use this again if I wanted a good look for the weekend but to maintain it is too much work and too expensive.
manic panic are cool only wash out time is like fudge really quick. loses its vibrance after one wash.
Tips: if your keen on upkeep go for it. or put a little on your shampoo when you wash keeps it bright.
