I have been using this little can of Magic for a while now and have always been really pleased with the results. My fair and highlighted hair of course looks good initially, but about a month later the dreaded grey roots appear (again) especially visible at the sides. After reading reviews on this site I bought a can of this product and sprayed the offending places and it was amazing just how effective it was straight away. It means that I get a few more weeks before I go to the hairdresser - and this of course is a great saving, and the result looks so natural . It's a great product and I am so thrilled that I discovered it, and even the hair salons use it as I discovered recently.

Tips: My hair is blonde and the colour that I buy is Light Brown as I think it makes it look as though my regrowth is brown - not grey - haha
I tried this out of curiousity at a time when I didn't have time to dye my roots, and so I was looking for a quick fix to hide some greys! This did the trick just fine. It gave me an extra few weeks of grace. I have now purchased my second bottle and have already quietly thanked loreal for making this product! It's definately an Inbetween dye thing though...not an alternative to dying your hair. Also, my hair is close to black, but the shop only had brown in stock. It made no difference really since our hair has highlights anyway.
Tips: Style your hair first and then spray at end.
This comes in a aqua coloured aerosol with a label showing the colour and a sticker on top showing the colour of the product which makes it really easy to see the colour you require. The product is easy to apply and the instructions on the container are clear -Shake well, 10 cm from regrowth and not too much. I have been using this for 3 months and have just come to the end and am really pleased with the result. I initially purchased when I saw it on sale at the warehouse for $14.95 as I was looking for a product to save having to colour my hair too often ( I was colouring the regrowth every 3 weeks and felt this was not only not good for my hair condition but also worry about allergic reactions as I have a sensitive skin) I have only applied on the crown of my hair and where my hair falls in natural parts and this is sufficient to delay re colouring for approx 2 weeks. The colour which I purchased was dark brown and this blends really well with very little effort on my part. I now only retouch my hair colour every 5 to 6 weeks and my hair is in much better condition than it was. The colour is tempory and washes out with shampoo but so easy to reapply and takes just seconds to get it done so no effort and the result is really natural.
Tips: Apply to obvious regrowth and not too much .A damp cloth handy if you make a mistake and spray your face.
First time I try Loreal Magic Retouch, and I’m converted! I tried it on my hair regrowth, and instantly it covers all the grey hair. Not much effort at all! I will definitely use it again. Very good for people in a hurry and don’t have time for that hair salon appointment or diy hair colouring at home.
Tips: I used it as per instruction, and instantly it covers the grey parts. Even for the area where I missed when I had my DIY hair colouring at home. To avoid stains on clothes and skin, i usually wear an old t-shirt, and cover my neck and hands with gloves and paper towel. Spray about 10 cm from the area you want to cover, and make sure to shake it well before application. It’s so easy to do, and great result too!
I have recently started to get a few greys around my hairline :( this product is great for my self confidence as it blends in nicely and covers the greys up as well as giving my hair a little volume boost. It doesnt smell too strong. It is quite overpriced for such a small bottle but you definitely itely get a good quality product for the price.
I was lucky enough to qualify for the L'Oreal Paris Magic Retouch Review in Dark Brown. Thank you!
I’ll begin with the packaging. L'Oreal Paris Magic Retouch comes in a 75ml can and advertises up to 25 applications. I am not a fan of the sea green coloured can. For me it is not appealing and I wouldn’t be drawn to this on the shelf in a shop. Full instructions are on the back of the can.
There is a pointed/straight applicator which is activated upon pressure. Literally point and aim at the area you want coverage, then press the nozzle. I thought I applied enough pressure when pressing the nozzle and was surprised nothing happened. So went to the next level of pressure and a puff of product came out. I had zero control over how much was dispensed as there was no happy medium with the nozzle.
L'Oreal Paris Magic Retouch Worked fine in my hair parting and around my forehead. It leaves a matte finish and if the product lands on your skin it is easily wiped away,
It takes no time to apply and follow the instructions to use on dry hair and the ‘applying distance’. I am terrible for running my hand through my hair. Yes, the product transferred to my nails and fingers. Oh well.
Ultimately I have no issue using between colouring. It looks natural and there is enough coverage for myself.
Pleased to have the opportunity to trial as I wouldn’t have picked this up from the shelf.
I was lucky enough to be sent this as part of a trial. I’ve just turned 40 and have pesky grey hairs that crop up in between hair salon visits.
The colour I chose was cool brown. I have ombré hair so very dark roots and quite blonde lengths so the greys are really noticeable, and cool brown was a perfect match for my roots.
The worst section is on one side of my temple where these little short grey lengths just keep appearing!!! This was the area I most wanted to target as it’s the most noticeable.
The product is in a short spray bottle with a narrow tube nozzle (think WD40ish). The instructions are simple - short sprays about 10cm away from the hair. It’s meant to do 25 applications, but will obviously change depending on how many greys you want to cover.
The first time I used it I sprayed too long and too close to the skin and ended up with a massive blotch on my scalp. It was easy enough to remove with a damp cloth, with no skin staining - phew! After a couple of trials I worked out the best way to apply with no staining.
The results were instant and awesome! My greys just seemed to melt away, I couldn’t detect any colour residue in my hair and it all looked really natural. The colour lasted until the next wash, and didn’t irritate my skin at all.
This is definitely going to be a permanent fixture in my bag of tricks!
Tips: Use a comb to position the hair the way you want it to get the best coverage. This also works like a mini dry shampoo spritz!
It was great to trial this little magic retouch. Comes in a bright turquoise can, small enough for travel and to go into your purse if needed. Doesn't have a smell at all. Shake well before you spray and don't hold the can too close to your hair. Did a great job of covering up my greys and blended well into my hair. Be careful when spraying that it doesn't get onto your face, rinse off straight away if it does. Stayed in my hair until the next wash, two days and was perfect for between colouring appointments as just go grey along my part on top of my head. Would use again,.
Tips: Make sure you pick the correct colour for your hair type otherwise it might be noticeable.
L'Oreal Paris Magic Retouch is a wonderful little pocket product that takes away the stress when you look in the mirror and find your natural highlights (grey) or roots (eeek darker than blond) have reappeared overnight,
It comes in a small, compact size aerosol spray with a nozzle that allows you to be very precise in applying it to the hair part or roots that need that extra attention. One application and voila those roots were back in line with the rest of my hair. It covered the darker roots with ease and was very easy to apply resulting in a blended coverage result.
I found that it worked well but made my hair feel a little bit crunchy - which is to be expected when you are putting a paint on product on your hair. There wasn't any colour transfer to my towels when washed or my bedsheets/pillow when sleeping.
I found this a good product, that does what it states it will (cover greys) and it was easy to use. The compactness makes it an easy add to the handbag or travel bag to ensure that when the moment comes that all of a sudden there are greys popping up there is a solution to get through until the next hair appointment or something more permanent can be done.
Tips: Spray gently and precisely so the product doesn't go all over your bathroom. Use close to a hair wash day as it feels a little crunchy on the hair/scalp. Ideal for in between salon visits to make you feel like your hair is not two toned - colour vs grey/dark roots.
I have natural dark brown hair which is growing out a colour I had put in last year. I have greys coming through at the roots and around my face. This root concealer spray works really well to cover the grey hair between washes. Easy to use, just spray onto dry clean hair.
Tips: Apply sparingly about 10 cm from hair, do not get onto clothing, it will stain.
