Does the job and not expensive

For the price, this is a good product. I use this on wet hair before styling and again on dry hair to tame the frizz. Absorbs into hair and doesnt leave it looking greasy, though I do use sparingly, and only on the ends. I have tried other products which are less greasy than this one, but they were much more expensive. I will buy this again.

Great for fine hair

I really love this product it is one of the best supermarket hair oils I have tried. It is also the best smelling, it is not overwhelmingly perfumed like many cheaper brands and it has a very pleasant light floral scent - I could smell gardenia and rose even before I read the label and found these essential oils listed on the label. Like another reviewer below I have also tried this as a body oil and it is divine - leaves my skin so soft and the slightly sweet gardenia perfume smells great as a base for a lot of my perfumes. However it may get used up a bit too fast if I keep using it for a body oil but for the price ($20 full price) you still can't complain.

I have very fine hair but lots of it which despite being thick doesn't tolerate being weighed down by thick serums so this is perfect for my hair. When applied this seems to absorb into the hair and makes it feel luxurious with no residue. I have the regular one. I use 3 or 4 pumps after washing and can easily apply another pump on second day hair to de-frizz my curls and add shine.

The glass bottle feels heavy and looks and feels luxurious and like you are getting your money's worth.

Overall I am really enjoying this oil and I would definitely be reluctant to spend more on a salon product again after using this.

Tips: You must try as a body oil - it is divine!

eh...

I had a farmers voucher and desperately needed something for my hair.

Usually I get the Garnier serum but decided to spend a little bit more on something.

I really liked the glass bottle because it made the product look expensive and it was clear so you could see what the product looked like.

It looked like a rich golden honey colour which attracted me because for some reason it just looked nourishing.

I purchased it for about $22 I think which I think is a bit expensive for what it is really. Ive used better oils that are alot cheaper.

The smell was pretty average and I liked the consistency of the product as it didn't feel to oily or thick for me.

My hair is very porous so it soaked all the product up immediately and it did an okay job of making my hair look shiny and smooth.

I probaly wouldn't rush out to buy this oil again but my hair did feel a bit more frizz free with it in.

Nourishing

I picked this up at the supermarket a wee while back for around $18 (on special) as I was in need of a hair serum for my hair which has been feeling quite dry and heat damaged lately.

The packaging is really nice and sophisticated, I like the glass bottle with the pump nozzle.

I apply 1-2 pumps of this to dry hair after washing and styling my hair and find that it calms down flyaways and makes my hair feel more soft and nourished.

The oil smells really nice and I always rub any excess into my hands and arms.

I would definintely repurchase this product although it will last me quite a while!

Not a big fan

I seen this advertised in a magazine and thought I had to have it!! I purchased this from the supermarket for $20 with high expectations for this great sounding multi-use product but was left feeling disappointed. Firstly I am not keen on the scent, it reminds me of a nit treatment smell so this really bugged me when I had it in my hair. Secondly I find that it is quite 'heavy' in my hair, leaving my hair looking quite slick and oily rather than shiny. Also don't believe that it delivers on it's description to deeply condition the hair either. This is a real shame as I usually love L'Oreal products. What I do like is the sleek glass bottle and easy to use pump dispenser, and if I did like this product then it would last such a long time, being a big 100ml bottle and only needing the tiniest amount

Tips: Only use a very tiny amount as this quite a thick and heavy oil

A no go for me

I have thick frizzy hair at times and purchased this product to combat the frizz. This was going to be a cheaper alternative to buying moroccan oil. Unfortunately this product when it dried made my hair frizzer. I spoke to hairdressers about this and they said that it was water based. I do not know how correct this is but it definitely did not help me with fly aways and frizz. I think my hair was too thick and dry for this product.

This gets results!

I tried a sample of this product a few years ago and honestly didn't try hard enough to get my hands on it, even though it did amazing things for my hair! I now have an entire bottle which I use after every time I wash my hair or occasionally for smoothing after styling. My hair is long, thick and slightly wavy, if not volumuos! When I apply this product I notice instant changes with how it sits. It is much more calm and easier to style. My hair is also dry so this oil is very nourishing for it. It smells amazing and I have had lots of comments on that. I will be continuing to use this product on my hair, it produces very good results which I have never found with regular leave in conditioners.

Tips: Use more on the ends of the hair to keep it healthy. Can be used all over to smooth styled hair but use much less than if putting it through slightly damp hair after showering.

Extraordinarily goood

I bought this L'Oreal Paris ELVIVE Extraordinary Hair Oil to see if it would, a) make a big difference to my hair, b) was worth the fuss and c) if it outdid all other brands of hair oil I have tried. For $19.99 or $20 like I paid, I expect optimum results! I am used to only paying $10 tops for a hair oil so this was a stretch for my budget conscious self.

What caught my eye was the packaging. The luxurious gold glass bottle with the gold pump top. The gold looking oil in it just made it one complete gorgeous package. The gold gave it that 'I'm number one, buy me' look. If I see luxury I expect luxury performance. For the price I do admit that it is alot bigger than most hair oils I have bought so that's a bonus. I usually wash my hair and run this oil through my hair afterwards to give it the kick of life it needs. But recently I have found that running it through fry hair works just as well, if not better.

Now I have used a heaps of hair oils and serums but none really stacked up to this gem. The packaging almost suits what I think of it. It's GOLD! The consistency is velvety smooth but not overly oily. It doesn't leave my hair greasy looking like other oils have. It gives it a sheen or a shine rather than a thick layer of oil. Over the day the oil soaks in to my hair leaving is very soft and it actually helps with styling it because it makes it behave better.

I have damaged hair from years of bleaching but this seems to take all that damage away and give it that 'hair flick and pose' feeling. If you like to style but don't like the hard crunchy feeling styling products give you, I suggest using this instead. It tames those frizzy bits and weaves them in amongst the rest of your hair.

The only reason for the three stars is my own personal experience. I normally have dry and sometimes flaky scalp but this seems to make it ten times worse. For that I try to keep the oil off my scalp and only in the hair ends not the root. It has worked well so far. If you want shiny (not greasy or oily) hair, hair that will behave and hair that is at its best then give this a go. I thought at $20 this was a rip but I have come to realize that it's certainly worth the small fortune.

Tips: Put in through your hair just washed or dry it works well both ways

Great review Shana, and yes, it works no matter how you use it. I like that it dries in my hair so it never gets greasy!

Fight that Frizz!

I bought this whilst travelling to combat a bout of fantastic frizz. I have fine, curly hair and gently rubbing a bit of product into the ends of freshly washed hair did manage to combat some of my feisty frizzy bits. A very good product (but still not quite as good as the very well known hair oil on the market). ;)

Tips: To avoid making your hair look greasy or limp, only use on the tips of your hair i.e from the ears down (not at the roots)!

One of my faves

Comes in a clear gold glass botyle with gold pump. I bought mine from the Warehouse. Lasts a long time. I still havent finished my bottle and I use it on my daughters hair as well. Needless to say a little goes a long way. I use one pump for wet hair. Makes my hair soft and shiny and feels very smooth. It has got a pleasant smell as well. Doesnt weigh down the hair or makes it greasy. Tames flyaways as well.

My hair was very damaged from bleaching and it did wonders for it ( couldnt get a comb through my hair without applying this oil). Would buy again when I have finished my old bottle.

Tips: Apply from mid lengths to end mostly.
