L'Oreal Paris ELVIVE Extraordinary Hair Oil

I started using this as a substitute for my other hair serum in order to prevent my hair from getting damaged as I straighten it on a daily basis. For me this product works very well and does its job enough.

Really love this product, its great for curly frizzy hair like I have. It really helps tame the curls, stops if from looking too bouffant, especially after blow drying my hair, it can look a bit wild.

I also use this in between washes to put the bounce back into my curl.

I have used a lot of hair serums and find this is one of the best out there, I look out for it regularly when its on offer at the shops and stock up on it.

My splurge item for hair had been Kerastase Oleo Relax Serum for a couple of years. I just loved the way it made my dry, coloured, heat damaged hair feel but I didn't really enjoy forking out $40+ a bottle!! After seeing L'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Hair Oil in the supermarket and looking at it weekly for a couple of months, I finally decided to grab a bottle reasoning that it's the same company, very similar ingredients and if I didn't like it much my mum or a friend would happily take it off y hands. Wow. I'm so glad I tried this! it smells great, smooths my frizzy curls, makes my straightened hair sleek & shiny and overall makes my hair feel healthier. It isn't as amazing or exactly the same as Kerastase but I'd rate it not too far behind and for the price it is excellent value! Honestly girls, give this a try! it is an amazing product!!

I bought this L'Oreal Paris ELVIVE Extraordinary Hair Oil to see if it would, a) make a big difference to my hair, b) was worth the fuss and c) if it outdid all other brands of hair oil I have tried. For $19.99 or $20 like I paid, I expect optimum results! I am used to only paying $10 tops for a hair oil so this was a stretch for my budget conscious self.

What caught my eye was the packaging. The luxurious gold glass bottle with the gold pump top. The gold looking oil in it just made it one complete gorgeous package. The gold gave it that 'I'm number one, buy me' look. If I see luxury I expect luxury performance. For the price I do admit that it is alot bigger than most hair oils I have bought so that's a bonus. I usually wash my hair and run this oil through my hair afterwards to give it the kick of life it needs. But recently I have found that running it through fry hair works just as well, if not better.

Now I have used a heaps of hair oils and serums but none really stacked up to this gem. The packaging almost suits what I think of it. It's GOLD! The consistency is velvety smooth but not overly oily. It doesn't leave my hair greasy looking like other oils have. It gives it a sheen or a shine rather than a thick layer of oil. Over the day the oil soaks in to my hair leaving is very soft and it actually helps with styling it because it makes it behave better.

I have damaged hair from years of bleaching but this seems to take all that damage away and give it that 'hair flick and pose' feeling. If you like to style but don't like the hard crunchy feeling styling products give you, I suggest using this instead. It tames those frizzy bits and weaves them in amongst the rest of your hair.

The only reason for the three stars is my own personal experience. I normally have dry and sometimes flaky scalp but this seems to make it ten times worse. For that I try to keep the oil off my scalp and only in the hair ends not the root. It has worked well so far. If you want shiny (not greasy or oily) hair, hair that will behave and hair that is at its best then give this a go. I thought at $20 this was a rip but I have come to realize that it's certainly worth the small fortune.

I bought this oil a couple of years ago (maybe even longer?) when there was a lot of hype about hair oils. I have only just come to the end of the bottle now! Admittedly I do have short hair but I have used a couple of pumps of this each time I have washed my hair which is a couple of times a week. I also use it in between washes when my hair gets the frizz. I have coloured, naturally wavy hair and this keeps it looking healthy and shiny and stops my hair colour looking flat.

It is non-greasy and on the times I apply a little too much, my hair absorbs it and I'm not left with an oil slick. This oil feels luxurious with its glass bottle and warm, floral smell. I don't feel the need to wash my hands after using it as I just rub the oil into my hands and it is quickly absorbed.

I would definitely buy this again as considering how long it has lasted, it is extraordinary value for money!

I think this is a really good oil for your hair but I don't think it is thick enough. It does make your hair smell amazing and the next day your hair is looking silky smooth. I was really impressed with this hair oil until I bought some macadamia oil from the hair dressers. But I would definitely use it again.

This is the only hair oil I have ever used which doesn't weigh down my hair or make it look greasy. I can honestly apply about 8 pumps (and I do, regularly, because my hair just drinks it up!) and I have no issues. I apply it to the ends and stroke the leftover oil onto the top, and it's gone! I use it on my hair when it's dry both morning and night, and still I've never got any oily build up. My hair is easier to control (I have mad thick, long, curly/wavey hair), softer and smoother. Only problem is a love it so much that I go through it faaaar too quickly haha but that's my doing, and at twenty bucks, I could have a much more expensive addiction. I will buy this for as long as they make it! Off to buy some more today!

I rarely pay much attention to my hair. Awful I know. I live off dry shampoo! But this product actually rates pretty highly for me. It's a dry oil so it doesn't leave my hair feeling or looking greasy but it gives it a lovely shine and like it says above, a bit of a pick me up! I've seen that BR have a tutorial on blowdrying your hair with this product so I will have to have a look!

This is a fabulous product, I've brought it many times. Loreal seems to have great hair products at a reasonable price.

I use this in my hair before blow drying and it really does make it smoother, shinier and silkier. The smell of this is lovely, and I never tire of it.

My hair tends to be on the dry side (due to blonde highlights) and it gives it moisture, without being greasy.

A great product that I will continue to repurchase.

I bought this on offer from a supermarket and was impressed. I tend to use it on the ends of my hair as my hair is fine and gets weighed down easily. It feels light and my hair has a sheen after use. My husband always comments on how nice my hair smells after using it too
