I love this product! Previous to trialling the banana hair food my hair was very dry and damaged. After using it for a week I can feel and see the difference in my hair. It is so much softer to touch and smells amazing! I tried it as a conditioner, mask, and leave in treatment. Love that one product can be used in different ways. I will be finishing off this huge tub and then will definitely be buying more!

Tips: When using as the leave in treatment make sure you only use a small amount.
This stuff is so great!!! I was so pleased to be asked to trial this new product in the Garnier Fructis range and it exceeded my expectations! Firstly the packaging is just perfect in general, love how it just looks like a tub of banana goodness for your hair, which it really is! The tub is 390mls which is huge. I have long hair and i'm also one of those people that goe's overboard with conditioner and I haven't even used half of the tub from the 3 times it has been used. It smells amazingly good..just like yummy bananas and made my hair so seriously soft. My hair just feels better in general. Softer, shinier and stronger. Amazing! I love how it doesn't contain silicones and parabens, big plus in general. I would genuinely recommend this to anyone looking for a beautiful deep conditioner/mask to maintain their hair. I hope I can find somewhere to purchase this soon because I don't think I can live without it now! Thanks beauty review, one of the best products I have been sent to trial.
Tips: Rinse hair with cool water when washing out.
I bought this from Countdown when they were having a sale, and I do not regret it. This is by far the best smelling hair product I've ever given my nose the pleasure of smelling. The banana is so sweet and candy like, it reminds me of fruit bursts without the cavities.
It's thick but easily spreadable, so makes for applying in hair easy peasy. You never need a lot but it just smells too darn good to stop. I actually wish the scent was more potent so it perfumed my hair! I also find that using this all three ways doesnt weigh down my hair, or make it greasy. It's da bomb!
It's also the best (in my opinion) in the range. I used it after swimming at the beach and my hair felt brand new, it was so soft and conditioned, it was like I'd just washed it not subjected it to salty water for a couple of hours. It's so hydrating and its just. Literally the best. I'll be repurchasing when I run out!
After seeing all the wonderful reviews about this hair mask , I had to try it for myself. My hair type is coloured with dry ends frizzy knotty mess. I picked up my jar from Countdown. I love to sneak in hair products every now and then .
Packaging comes in a generous sized pot . Much bigger than other hair conditioning treatments . Packaging is bright coloured easy to read packaging. Twist top lid.
Consistency is creamy and white in colour thick smooth. Scent is true to Banana scent. Sweet blissful aroma of Bananas.
Application I normally massage a palm full of melts into my hair like butter. Feels silky and smooth upon rinsing out .
Afterwards my frizziness is tamed . I can get the brush through my knotty hair . I’m amazed at the result.
Overall I think price wise it’s fair. One pot lasted me three months . Generous single use per week as a treatment for my hair . Had no reactions. I still had dry ends. Not a complete miracle treatment. I would recommend trying this.
I saw these on sale at Countdown so thought I'd give it a go after mixed reviews online. I use this on both my daughters hair and mine. I've found it does more for my daughter than me, used while hair is damp and just a small amount on finger tips, then brushed through.
It definitely hydrates the hair and makes it easier to brush. The banana smell is not too much either. My ends are still a little frizzy but I just keep applying this when needed. I'll continue to use this product as after more uses it may do more for my hair. But definitely helping my daughters hair and we both have wavy dry hair.
Tips: Can be used as a conditioner or on damp hair and left in. Apply small amounts at a time so you don't over do it, and doesn't need to be used everyday.
This. Is. My. Fave. I will never live without this product from this day forward. BR sent me this bundle of absolute banana coconut joy and I was so excited to try it that I opened it up and popped a small amount on my ends straight away in the office. I also walked around my entire time begging everyone to smell the tropical banana delight - much to their excitement.
The smell is simply delicious. Like banana fruit bursts - sweet and yummy. You have to remind yourself not to eat it. The glossiness is great. It doesn't feel oily or heavy but my ends feel healthier than they have in a very long time. My hair is also looking shiner and healthier as well, which just has to happen from shea butter and coconut oil.
This is a true winner for me and I'm so glad I got the opportunity to try it. It's one that I will continue to buy for sure - and maybe even try out the Goji or Papaya scents if they smell as incredible as this one.
It does feel a little bit off scooping it out of the container because it feels like you're whacking on a handful of Body Shop Body Butter but you get used to that.
I have used it in all three formats suggested - as a conditioner, as a mask and as a leave in. And over the course of a week my hair is feeling glossy, healthy and smelling incredible.
I enjoyed using this product. I liked trialing it.
I have curly thick dry hair and this product has Curly hair-friendly ingredients. So if you have curly hair I would recommend giving this a go.
Personally, I thought this cream was hydrating, but I really did not like my hair smelling like a banana. The smell over time really turns weird. I have dry hair so I don't shampoo my hair more than once a week so this stayed on my hair for a week or 6 days, so i didn't enjoy smelling banana on my hair which is weird.
I do think it's hydrating for my hair, so i would use this as a conditioner or hair mask that i would wash off after. So i wouldn't apply it as a leave in conditioner
Tips: Use as a hair mask unless you want your hair smelling like a banana for the week, you can apply it as a leave in cream.
I have been using the Garnier Fructis Nourishing Banana Hair Food on my hair every third day and the banana smell is gorgeous and lasts the whole time until I wash my hair again.
The round container which it comes in is quite big at 390mls and not able to be held in my usual conditioner place in the shower holder.
The first time I used this conditioner, I used too little and had to dive into it again to rub it through my hair. I usually only need as much as the shampoo I put on my hair, but needed quite a bit more scooping it out with my wet hands. The container needs to be unscrewed before shampooing. With wet hands it is harder to use with water running into the container while I'm trying to scoop out some conditioner for my hair. It would be much better to have in a longer plastic bottle which could be squeezed out.
I love the smell and the soft feel of my hair after using this. The container is brightly coloured in yellow and certainly catches your eye.
Tips: Before shampooing hair unscrew the lid as this is harder to do after shampooing with wet hands and you get water dripping into the conditioner container.
Smelt almost perfect apon using the first few times, after a while the smell became Almost sickening, continued to apply moisture to my hair still.
Tips: Leave on overnight.
I fell in love with the sound of this product reading through all the reviews. With all the different flavours I ended up buying 3 different ones to try them out.
I have long hair with lightened ends so the length is quite dry. I’ve struggled to find a nourishing conditioner that treats my ends without making my hair dull and lank. I love the versatility of this product - a conditioner, a mask and a leave-in treatment.
Of the 3 I tried (Papaya, Macadamia and Banana), this was my least favourite. The scent just seems too artificial for me, and it didn't really work well for my hair.
I tried this the 3 different way (conditioner, mask and leave-in treatment). Neither way really worked well for me, although the best was the leave-in treatment if I only applied it to the very ends of my hair. I think the issue was more with my hair than the product through - it's only the very lengths that are damaged, so this was not enough for the lengths and far too much for the roots.
Tips: Try the whole range before you give up, while this one didn't work for me, I love the Macadamia and Papaya.
