Perfect Bun

The bobby spinners came in the March Beauty Box. It was nice seeing something in the box for hair. When I first saw it I was worried I wouldn't know what to do. I turned the packet around and on the back it had a guide on how to use them. Thank goodness for that.

These Bobby Spinners come in a Three pack. They were securely placed in the packet the came in. They feel like metal Springs. Their spiralled metal springs to secure and bind the hair.

On application of this bobby spinner, I grabbed my hair wrapped it into a bun then inserted the spinner in the middle of my hair and screwed it in. It was quite easy to do this. I found my hair had tension and felt secure and tight. I found it easy to unravel my hair when I was finished using it.

My results was nice tight secure bun. It did need a hair band to give it extra support. I wasn't able to use it solely on its own. I did enjoy using this product.

Clever Little Things!

I had these arrive in my BRBB, in all honest truth I had no flippin idea what they were. So I turned to the trusty internet to watch a vid on YouTube but I still didn't fully comprehend how they worked without getting tangled or making a bees nest of my hair because to me they looked like bed springs or springs on a trampoline (as a kid I remember getting my hair caught in those...Eeep!).

I set aside some time to have a play with them, decided that my plan of a attack was to attempt a messy bun & hopefully these little spinners would hold it in place. I put my hair up in a ponytail placing hanging hair around the base of my ponytail, then proceeded to gradually spin the spinners into my hair, they are very quick to use. And to my surprise they were working!! They were holding my hair in place securely & tight, it was magic & so easy!

The second time I used them, I came home from a party and managed to get them all twisted & tangled in my hair so if possible get someone to help as they are a bit hard to remove after a few drinks.

They are a great little invention and unlike bobby pins I haven't lost them YET! :)

THE clip

The spinners were part of the March beauty box, I must say I have never seen anything like them before, I have medium length hair which I have tied up a fair amount. I had lots of fun experimenting with these clips and recommend them to anyone wanting hold for their up-dos. I am finding I'm using them frequently in my hair styles. Worth the $5. Also will last longer than bobby pins.

Bobby Spinners

These are such a great Idea! They actually have more hold than your average bobby pins. I never used to wear my hair in a bun as it never used to have any hold. Bobby pins and hair spray failed. I was looking forward to trying these. They are basically self explanatory. They spiral into your bin instead of placing them in straight like a bobby pin. I now wear buns more often and I have never had one of these Bobby Spinners let me down yet!

Bobby spinner winner

I lusted over these screw like bobby pins after seeing good reviews and YouTube unboxings of the March BRBB which I contained these. When I first saw the package I thought "three, is that all you get?". I have super thick long hair and have to use a million clips to hold my bun in place. But I was pleasantly surprised to find that three of these spinners were enough.

I usually tie my hair up in a pony tail then twist my hair around and secure them with the spinners. They keep my bun tight and secure all day. Usually during the day my bun would come loose and I would lose the nice circular shape I had in the morning. These spinners keep my bun in a nice tight round all day. The real test for me was being able to run and play sport without my bun coming loose. Sadly it didn't quite past the test. I had to keep readjusting the spinners and re-tying my hair. I have however tried adding another hair tie after I twist my hair around which gives more security and stabilises the bun better.

Make sure you push the spinner right deep down into the bun for maximum strength. It will also ensure that your hair completely covers the spinners. I have also found that the paint on the spinners has started to come off due them being rubbed against each other when screwed into my bun. This is not really an issue for me as I have quite thick dark hair, so my hair always covers the clips. But if you have light or blonde hair you would want to make sure your hair covers the spinners so they are not visible.

Overall I think these clips are really good. They are strong and sturdy too so would last ages before wearing out. My bobby pins stretch quite easily and become loose, especially when using them for buns, so I end up going through a packet of those clips quite quickly. So for $5 for three bobby spinners is pretty good. I have been using these spinners for by buns and they always turn out perfect. If you struggle with managing to hold your bun up or getting that nice a round shape I definitely recommend using these.

Tricky little things

So after ALL the hype of the Beauty Review Beauty Box that I did not get- I saw these at the warehouse and didn't hesitate to buy them. My first attempts were pretty terrible, but the way they screw into your hair is really quite novel. I have quite long hair, and a lot of it. I tie my hair into a pony tail and twist it around and use the spinners to secure it into a bun. The placement of the pins seems to be paramount to a good bun, unfortunately I have not mastered it yet- sometimes it lasts ages and others it falls out and I have to resecure it. This may also be due to the state of my hair in terms of washing- as freshly washed hair tends to fall out more easily. Overall, I'm still learning to use these pins- but I can see that they are a great addition to the hair drawer. They are a pretty genius idea and I intend to keep using them.

Tips: I can't provide any tips- I'm crazily scouring everyone else's tips as they are tricky to master but I think the results are worthwhile.

Amazing strength

I received these in my March BRBB and when I first saw them I had absolutely no idea what the heck they were! Obviously by the packaging they were hair thingys, but for what?!

So after reading the back, doing a bit of googling I figured out how to try them. Essentially they're spiral bobby pins; they come in a pack of 3, they're incredibly strong (you can't bend them), and you use them for up-dos by spinning them into your hair.

My first attempt was not entirely successful, but after trying again I managed a gorgeous bun with little effort. I have a LOT of hair, and it's quite long so I was really pleased to see that the 3 pins held it up all day without any problems.

Definitely something I will use again and again, although at $5 a 3 pack, I hope I don't lose them at the same rate I lose bobby pins, so it's something I'll keep an eye out and purchase when on sale.

Tips: Don't try to pull the spinners out, you have to spin them in the opposite direction to remove them - just like a screw

Twisted genius!

Like many, when I saw these in my March Beauty Review Beauty Box I wondered what on earth they were for - and whether they'd be effective.

I throw my hair up into messy buns at the weekend and tidy ones for work sometimes, and because my hair is childlike (ie fine, soft, and misbehaves if it's grumpy) I didn't hold out much hope, but the Cameo Bobby Spinners are like the 'Hair Nanny'. Once they are in (which is a cinch one you get the knack of twisting them in at the right angle) then they are IN. All day, all night if you want them to be! They actually require more effort to extract than insert, which can be annoying at times but it's worth it for not having to constantly remove and replace during the day.

The dark brown colour tones in perfectly with my hair and the size is perfect for buns - though I'd want a finer set for hair-wrapped ponytails etc.

They only cost a few dollars and they work - definitely worth a try for women who like to wear their hair up but also great practical applications for ballet, sport etc!

Spin away

These came in the March BRBB. I looked at them and wondered what they were for. Well did I find out when I turned the card holding them over.

My hair isn't as long as some peoples but still below the shoulders. I can hold my hair up with 1 of these pins, granted it is not the prettiest bun to look at, until I take it down. My hair isn't very long, shoulder length, I just pull my hair into a pony tail and twist till it goes around itself to form the bun, screw in the pin and done. When I do a half up bun though, the bun is so small the pins show at the other end.

While I am not likely to use these out and about, at home they are handy when I just want my hair out of the way. I can see some people getting great use out of these, mainly the school kids and people needing an up do for work or dance.

Tips: Screw them in like a screw driver.

Perfect bun holders

I really like these. I usually wear my hair in a ponytail, and don't bother with anything fancy. Occasionally I like to wear a bun, but it's often difficult since I have to use a million bobby pins and even then it still doesn't look right.

These spinners make life (and hairstyles) easier. I simply put my hair up and spin the three pins through the bun. It holds perfectly and for a very long time. I find these really easy to use, to get in and out of my hair, and they make it simple to do my hair. They won't give you the perfect immaculate bun, as there are always hair stragglers, but they certainly make it a lot easier!
