L'Oréal Paris ELVIVE Smooth Intense Conditioner Review

I have very fine, curly hair that likes to "puff" up no matter the weather. Even after straightening, the puffiness remains, and I need to run an oil through my ends to get a completely smooth, silky result.

I had high hopes after seeing "argan oil" on the bottle, however I don't think it left my hair nearly as soft and smooth as my regular conditioner does. To be honest, my hair felt rather dry.

I did find that after using the shampoo and conditioner, my hair was a lot smoother after straightening, but this may be because the shampoo hadn't completely cleansed my hair of excess oils - my roots still felt a fair bit oily straight after a fresh wash. I only skip one day between washes, and always use a dry shampoo on the in-between days, so it's not like there's a lot of oil build-up to get rid of. The shampoo has a rather strong smell that I wasn't particularly fond of, but it's a lot more subtle in the conditioner.

Both the shampoo and conditioner are fine for just getting the job done, and i'll be keeping them in my bathroom as back-ups, but after reading claims of anti-frizz, silky smooth gloriousness, I feel they just miss the mark.

Smelt gorgeous but that's pretty much where it ends. After applying I expected it to detangle and get that smooth feeling whilst rinsing it out but I found my hair felt tangled and I would have to apply more to get it how I usually like it. I'm going to stick to my usual conditioner.

Just like my review for the corresponding shampoo, this product was just too heavy for my hair. For people with less fine hair and in need of control of "fly away" hair it would be perfect. It is a lovely conditioner but just not right for me.

I found this to be quite a good conditioner. It made my hair feel nice and soft and helped lock the moisture into hair. It's quite a thin conditioner though and I would suggest using a thicker conditioner a couple of times a week if your hair is quite dry. But other than that it definitely helped make my hair soft and tangle free. However it didn't do what it said it would. Since I already have pretty smooth, straight, limp, thin hair this didn't do a lot for me. I'm not too sure if it is just because my hair already is straight and smooth or if it doesn't actually do what it says and calm frizz.

This conditioner is okay, but after the performance of the matching shampoo, left me somewhat disappointed. I have fine, wavy, coloured hair that tends to get frizzy very easily. When using this in combination with the shampoo o found it reduced my frizz a little, but not nearly as much as I expected it too. Also, when using this, i found I had to use nearly double the amount of conditioner than I normally would use, and it made my hair feel like straw while in the shower, no matter ho much I used or how long I left it on for, which I didn't like. Once dry my hair did feel smooth, shiny and slightly more frizz free than usual, but I felt the amount of conditioner I had to use to achieve this wasn't necessarily worth it. The consistency of this conditioner is rather runny too, so you have to be quick, otherwise it washes sown the drain before you have the chance to work it into your hair. Overall it was an alright conditioner, but after liking the shampoo so much, and other conditioners in the L'oreal Elvive line, it left me disappointed. Probably wouldn't repurchase.

As the shampoo didn't really work wonders for me the conditioner I didn't hold high hopes for.

Its rather thick in consistency which is a good thing to see however when applied it seemed to go rather watery... which I thought was rather weird. I always apply my conditioner to dry hair (being a hair dresser that what we get taught towel dry hair before applying any conditioner) It seemed to just disappear in my hair, later not really achieving what was promised and it didn't aid really or assist with the shampoo even when used with another shampoo first.

Its brilliant in another way as it didn't make my hair greasy or oily and it did seem to hydrate a little more than a cheaper brand I used as a comparative.

I think in an all I would use this conditioner with a more suited shampoo for my hair type.

The colour I found was rather weird aswell and was a nice honeycomb colour different to see thats for sure. The packaging you cant see through unlike the shampoo, so is hard to see whether the product is nearing the end of not.

Trialled this shampoo and conditioner, and find it was just as standard as any other supermarket brand. Did not make my hair feel amazing, or smooth down with out the use of a leave in treatment after washing and conditioning. Although it is weightless like it claims to be.

I was looking forward to trying this product, as my hair gets a lot of frizz and flyaways from blow drying and straightening. This product was ok; it didn't adversely affect my hair in that it didn't make it oilier or too dry. My hair is quite fine, and I didn't like what the product did for this type of hair. It made my hair seem thicker and having more volume. This could be ok for some people, but it made it more difficult to manage for me. It was fine enough to run my hand through easily before and I couldn’t do this easily after using the product. I didn't notice any difference in terms of frizz or flyaways either so I didn't feel there was any benefit to counteract the harder to maintain hair. I didn’t notice any difference in shine either which I’ve seen from argan oil. I wouldn't use this product again, but it may suit someone with another hair type better.

I am not a huge fan of this the reason is it simply is not rich enough it does not seem very hydrating I think this is suited to an oily hair it does help with frizz but results with me and this product are short lived. You need quite a big dollop if you have rather dry hair so unlike the shampoo a little does not seem to go a long way so it is not very good value for money the scent is not bad but its mild the conditioner seems creamy compared to the shampoo but as I said it does not feel very hydrating for the hair I like the concept of the oils and taming frizz it helps but this conditioner feels very lightweight and different in the hair than others perhaps thats why i feel you need more and it does not seem to hydrate much like the claims on the packaging say. The scent is light and fruity not strong. I would not re buy for $8.99 I would probabbly not re purchase as I favour others

I liked this set of Shampoo and Conditioner. They did make my hair feel nice and clean and soft, but I didn't notice any great improvement in smoothness myself. Perhaps it wasn't the best type-fit for me.
