The first thing that stand out with this shampoo is the scent, is smells amazing! 2 days later and my hair still smells like lavender. My scalp has been quite sensitive lately and a bit sore, this didn't aggravate it but seemed to help calm it down. The only thing I noticed is I have more dandruff than usual, this may be because of not washing the products out properly so I will continue using it to see if this is the case.
I love the packaging, having the pump is easy to use, though I do wish it would pump more product, also the fact it is completely recyclable is a huge plus.
I also like that it is paraben, sulphate and silicone free!
The price is on par with some salon products and with only a week of use I can't say if it measures up, I feel you need to use something like this for at least a month to get a good feel for how it helps your hair.
I will definitely continue using this shampoo to see if it can help my scalp and hair to become healthier as I have seen potential in it working.
Tips: The lavender scent is great for relaxing or use at night!
Ok so the first thing I noticed about this shampoo is the overpowering smell. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to use it because it was so strong. It lathers up really well and you don’t need to use much. The size of this bottle will last me ages, my hair is just past shoulder length. My hair felt totally clean after using it though and I’m happy with that.
Tips: Use a less intense smelling conditioner after the shampoo
Ive seen this on the supermarket shelves and finally got to give it a go.
Firstly, the packing is beautiful, I love a simple style bottle with the pump!
The lavender scent is quite strong, which i personally like and it actually stays on your hair after washing and styling.
I love that this has no sulfates and parabans that most shampoos have have, and my curly hair LOVED it. Some shampoos make my curly hair dry out so much it just goes frizzy instead of curly. This made my curls amazing!
However, My bleached hair did not like it. Usually I only need to tone with purple shampoo once a week, the oils in this shampoo turned my hair an odd colour after the first use. For this reason I most likely wouldn't repurchase.
Tips: Wouldn't recommend on bleached hair!
So far so good with this one. Two week trial was a little tight but loved the packaging - the pump bottle for the shampoo is so good and easy to use, gives just the right amount. Such an easy shampoo to get a good bubbly lather up and doesn’t irritate my scalp. Smell isn’t too overpowering which I like cause I’m not the hugest fan of lavender.
Love love love that this product is free of the nastys and recyclable has packaging.
Tips: Don’t use too much otherwise the lather will go crazy and it’ll be like a bubble bath ;)
The shampoo comes in a handy pump bottle and is a nice size at 400ml. You don't need much (I have very long hair and I used about the size of two coins) I didn't like the product as much as I hoped though. The pump was a little stiff and didn't pump much at a time, although that can be a good thing for some people. The texture was quite thick and took a bit more effort than other shampoos to lather. I liked that there were no sulphates & parabens and I didn't feel any irritation in my sensitive scalp. I thought the smell could have been better, but if this is due to the lack of potentially harmful ingredients, I don't mind! Overall I think it's an ok shampoo, but I won't be rushing to buy it at $17.99 NZD.
Was excited to try this , I love the fact it comes in a pump bottle, at first I thought it was hard to get the shampoo out but then realized it was giving you a small amount as that's all you need, it leathers up well and has quite a strong botanical smell. The one thing I found with this I didn't like was that it made my hair really tangled! If u do not use the conditioner it is a battle to brush. Overall it did make my hair shiny and my scalp has been a lot less irritated. I will keep using this product as I do like how my hair feels after using. I like the smell but I dont find the lavender relaxing that much. But I do however like that its organic and cheaper than the organic products you buy at the hairdressers. There is a lot in the bottle so it should last a long time.
Tips: Just use the amount that one press on the pump, that's all it needs for shoulder length hair
I loved the premise of this product, but sadly, its not for me. Let me start by saying the packaging is beautiful, but for me, that's where the positives ended.
The shampoo was a nice consistency but the smell was overpowering. It was way too sickly sweet and intense for me. We have an open shower and it was still too much. After my hair had dried it was still very strong, and while others commented that my hair smelled amazing, to me it was like I'd rolled in a lavender field and had flowers stuck everywhere - overpowering, intense and a little too sickly.
It cleaned my hair well but..... Grease city within 24hrs. I used the conditioner too but didn't on my roots and even just the shampoo was too much for my hair. It didn't soothe, just irritate and over excite. It was easier to brush and didn't knot though, so I'll take that win.
Tips: Make sure you ADORE the scent of lavender first! It's intense.
I used this product hoping that it would help with my sensitive scalp, but unfortunately I did not find any difference between this and my normal product. Which was disappointing considering my normal product is not aimed at sensitive scalps.
The texture was similar to normal shampoos, however, I found it didn't lather as much as other products, which made me feel as though it wasn't getting all the way to my scalp, due to my thick hair.
The smell wasn't what I was expecting and I was hoping for a stronger smell of lavender. Which this did not provide.
I am also not a fan of it's price, considering it's size when I can get a bigger size product that does better things to my hair from other brands.
Overall, I would say that this product is just okay, but I won't be reaching to purchase it.
Tips: Use a bit more than you normally would to get a better lather.
Since my current colour has washed out I was keen to try this new lavender botanical range as I have used the dull/coloured treated botanicals range before and really liked it.
I don't have fine hair as stated on the bottle but would consider it fragile and sensitive and it is very long so I figured the range may help.
The smell of the shampoo was a little of putting and reminded me of my partner shampoo so I wouldn't considered it relaxing in that sense. It smelt more herbal/medical then traditional lavender in my opinion.
The packaging is like the rest of the botanical series. A browny coloured 400ml pump bottle which states on the back that it is 100 % recyclable. This along with the design of the bottle gives a very botanical vibe. The packaging looks very smart and like something you would see in a salon. One thing I really like about the packaging is that it doesn't leak when it is on its side so I think this is prefect for travelling if you don't mind the larger size.
The texture of the shampoo was light and a little bit runny, I suppose due to being in a pump bottle this is necessary. It lathered reasonable well when mixed with water. I shampooed twice to get a really deep clean and It didn't leave my hair greasy at the roots so I was really happy with how it cleaned my hair.
Apart from the smell I was really happy with how it cleaned my hair and how it made my hair look and feel when used with the conditioning balm. It stayed relatively Knot and frizz free and it didn't irritate my scalp.
I will continue to use this up but will probably look at repurchasing a different shampoo in the botanical series as I don't like the smell.
Tips: Look out for it on special.
