L'Oréal Paris ELVIVE Fibralogy Shampoo Review

Whilst I LOVE the double serum in this range, I am not quite as impressed with the shampoo and conditioner.

The shampoo is thick and creamy and very nice to use, has a pleasant perfume. I have noticed that you have to be careful with these style L'Oreal bottles as it's very easy to use too much and therefore waste it. To begin with, I did not notice any difference in the thickness of my hair but after about a week and half of using both the shampoo and conditioner, there was a bit of thickening/extra body. I am HUGE fan of L'Oreal, but I use mainly their Salon products and although I liked this product, it didn't thrill me enough to change to it. I would say it's definitely worth a try though to anyone who would like more body!

As the shampoo has a slightly creamy consistency I was skeptical when I first opened the bottle, but now I can confirm that L'Oreal is very much a trusted name in haircare. I have thick but very fine hair & am constantly in search of better bodifying products. This shampoo definitely gave me a kind of lift that others don't - I think focusing on thickening strands of hair rather than simply making it more lightweight is the way to go for finer hair. Paired with the conditioner and a good blowdry, I had the best hair day I've had in months, & it was still looking great the next day too. I have kept using this shampoo with consistent results & I will definitely buy it again.

I was really looking forward to reviewing this product as I have very naturally thin hair that I've struggled to grow in the past with it still looking healthy. I have been using nioxin for the past 8 or so months which is basically the (very expensive) salon alternative to what Loreal elvive fibrology claims to do. Nioxin has drastically changed my hair so I was really hoping this product would do the same just be a whole lot more affordable! First off the packaging is quite cool and colorful which I liked, the smell of the shampoo in my opinion is very typical for a supermarket shampoo, not ultra nice but not unpleasant either. From the first week and a bit it washed my hair really nicely and I instantly noticed that my hair was feeling thicker and healthier, but I did need to wash daily. After about a week I noticed dry flaky skin appearing which has gotten worse over the last couple of weeks. This is a big deal breaker for me as most ladies will no dandruff is a total confidence killer! My other issue with this shampoo is it seems to make my hair go static now which is probably from over stripping my hair. This is worse when combined with the Loreal elvive fibrology conditioner. I do, though, notice that my hair feels thicker which is what the product claims to do! Overall if I'm on a budget I would consider purchasing this product again for the thickening benefits, and would reccomend others to try considering that it is very affordable!

I have the finest most limp hair and have had for many years so I can pretty much live up to saying I have tried everything thickening shampoo out there. The packaging of the product is nice and sleek, it's easy to dispense the product and a handy size. The shampoo itself has a pleasebt smell it is on the fragrant side. The shampoo does lather but it's not the typical over bubbly lather, it's thick and creamy and takes a bit more work in my below shoulder length hair. You can almost immediately feel a difference in your hair texture once you rinse. The product definitely works better overtime give it a good week or so to really experience the changes even though the bottle says it's practically immediate.

This range had a lot to live up to. I have used just over half the 250ml bottle washing every 2-3 days. My hair is medium length and very fine. I employed the reverse shampooing technique a few months back which has cut back my need to shampoo everyday. So I continued to condition first and follow with shampoo during this trial. One concern I had before starting this trial was that I have dyed my roots darker in an ombre style so I was worried that I would find it too heavy for my hair, causing oil overload. So, with this in mind I am happy to report that I do see the desired thickened result. I didn't have to wash every day and my hair wasn't weighed down at all. I also like the smell, my opinion is that it has a subtle fragrance of licorice. The texture is thick and it really sticks to the hair. I felt that it really soaked into my hair which I liked. It did lather well and didn't leave a squeaky clean feel, which I don't like, but rather my hair felt healthy and thick. My hair did look thicker and it felt soft. I will use it again, a great range for a supermarket line.

I have shoulder length, fine, limp hair which has the tendency to get very oily, so i wash it every day. As this product stated that it "visibly thickens hair"I was really excited to try it! It is packaged really nicely - the pink and blue container is definitely eye catching. It has a nice, subtle fragrance that stays with me for a long time too. I used this product every day for the first week and did not notice much of a difference in texture, however after about a week I did notice that my hair started to feel slightly thicker. This product cleanses ok and you only need a small amount to work up into a nice rich, creamy lather. I did find that I needed two shampoos (which I would normally do anyway) to first remove any residue from the previous day and then thoroughly cleanse. The two shampoos a day I believe contributed to the slight thickening of my hair, had I only done one shampoo a day I am not so sure I would have had any results.

This product appeals to the geek in me, a scientifically formulated product that thickens hair from the inside. That is pretty cool chemistry - if in fact it works.

What I like: - the smell is subtle and reminds me of green apple with a hint of lemon. - the consistency. It's not too thin (it doesn't fall off your hand before you get it to your head) or too thick (so you can't lather it up properly). - it lathers up well and I found that one shampoo is enough to get hair clean. - the packaging is quite stylish & looks upmarket. I think that the product looks more expensive than it actually is.

What I don't like: - it contains SLS. Yes, it gets your hair clean but I just feel that SLS makes my hair a little too squeaky. - I haven't noticed any difference to the thickness of my hair.

Verdict? Overall I think this is a nice product for a supermarket line. It gets hair clean and there is a bit of volume. As for thickening hair from the inside, I'm not sold on that claim because I haven't really noticed any difference over time. So while there is nothing offensive about this range, it's not good enough to make me switch from what I'm currently using.

This shampoo smells great however i did not notice a big difference in the thickness of my hair. It may have got slightly thicker but that may just be in my head. It does however make your hair feel really nice after and i noticed that I had less hair fall.

I used both the shampoo and conditioner in the Loreal Paris Elvive Fibralogy range and to be honest I only found the results ok

Although my hair did look thicker and initially immediately after washing it felt very clean I found I needed to wash it everyday as it became greasy very quickly.

I personally wouldn't use it again as it left my hair feeling 'full of product.' If you don't mind that effect and are looking for fuller looking hair then this is the product for you
