Absolutely AMAZING!

The most simple, affordable and beautiful way to get the ombre look without spending a fortune at the hairdressers. You get a specialised brush with the kit which pretty much does everything for you! All I had to do was brush the formula into my hair where I wanted it to go, leave for the recommended time and rinse out. 40 minutes later I have perfect ombre hair! I already had dyed hair and this colour still took really well to my hair and has lasted well over a month so far without becoming drying or straw-like, which some bleaches can do. 100% recommend!

Tips: Dye your hair in a well ventilated room as the smell of the dye is pretty strong and not good for your precious nose!

Love it!!!!

Okay so I got this because I was a teeeeeny weeeeny bit jealous of all the awesome pics I saw popping up from girls who got to trial this, and I wanted it for myself; so I had to get it lol. I got Shade #2 on special at the supermarket for $15.50. Score!

The box itself is screams stylish and chic, yet wiiiiild. You get everything you need to ombrè your hair including detailed instructions and pictures. I opted to search youtube for a tutorial and found that much more helpful. It definitely set my mind at ease.

The gloves were probably my only disappointment with this kit. I have long fingers and the gloves were made for tiny hands. I actually ripped the gloves trying to put them on. I gave up and used a pair of disposable gloves of my own. The brush you get with the kit is what makes ombrè -ing your hair so easy; I literally put the crème on the brush and combed it through my ends.

My hair colour is dark brown. It is thin and fine, yet frizzy/wavy (unless straightened). It is also layered.

I found I had to leave the crème in my hair for a little longer than recommended in order to achieve the colour I was after (keep in mind my hair is DARK brown and this kit is intended for lighter brown hair).

The conditioner that came with the kit is a very generous 40ml. It has a nice soapy smell but I found once I washed it out of my hair, it left my hair feeling soft but smelling slightly of plastic (not sure if that was the conditioner of because of the bleach?)

The resulting colour of my ombrè hair is a light brown. And it looks brushed in and natural, not fake like in a straight line across the hair (if that makes sense?). I am also considering buying another kit and maybe adding more to get a lighter and streaky effect.

Overall my impression of this kit is TOTALLY AWESOME! For the price, the ease of use and the result, you really can’t go wrong! I love it and would totally recommend to anyone thinking of doing it.

Tips: If you are a tad worried about doing it, search youtube for tutorials, you can't go wrong!

Easy to apply

I saw an ad for this on Facebook so decided to purchase it. I was nervous at first, so I watched a few YouTube tutorials before giving it a go. I started by dividing my hair into two sections and began applying the product to the ends of my hair. I did this part quickly to ensure the product was applied to each section at around the same time. I then added more of the product to my hair at random lengths up to my ears. I waited about 20 minutes before testing as I have dark brown hair and could tell there hadn't been a major change. I noticed some sections of my hair were lightening faster than others, so I applied more of the product and waited a bit longer. After 40 minutes I figured I better wash it out! The finished result wasn't quite what I hoped for - my hair was only a couple of shades lighter, and was sort of an auburn shade. I still liked it though, it was worth giving it a go. Will probably work better on lighter hair and with use of toner afterwards.

Tips: Open your windows as the product has quite a strong chemical odour!

I love this trend and I really want to try this but I'm worried about my hair turning orange which has been the case every time I've attempted lightening diy.. I remain undecided.

So easy and effective

Okay first of all I'll start off by saying that I LOVE this hair dye. I was quite sceptical about it working for me and very nervous to try it out but now that I've done it, I already want to stock up on more for later use.

In the kit you get the developer cream, a lightening powder a lightening cream, a shampoo, a pair of gloves, instructions and of course the amazing application brush. I got the colour no2 which is for dark blonde to medium brown hair (my hair is dark brown-black but I deliberately went for something for lighter hair so that my ombre could look subtle).

I started off by sectioning my hair. I pulled all my hair from my ears up and tied it at the top of my head so that I could get an even application on the bottom layer of my hair first. My hair is very long and I started my ombre from chin-height. The brush makes it super simple to create the ombrè effect. You just apply an even amount of dye onto the brush and literally brush it into your hair in small sections.

You get a really decent amount of product as well. My hair is very long and quite thick and I still didn't manage to use the full bottle.

I really recommend this product. I was so surprised at how easy it was and the colour was perfect!

Tips: I have a few tips :)

1. Brush the product onto the tips of your hair first so that the dye is on them for longer than the rest of the hair. This lightens the tips more so that the ombrè doesn't end up the same colour from beginning to end.

2. It's much easier to part your hair in the middle and work from both sides.

3. Don't apply the dye in a way which the colour is going to end up being a straight line across your head. Start at slightly varying points so that it looks blended. With each section of hair I done, I made the starting point about 2cm different to the sections on either side of it. No two sections next to each other started at the same length.

4. Keep checking the colour while your waiting for it to process so that your hair doesn't go too light or you don't wash it off too early and have hardly any change.

5. Have fun with it :)

wow!!

This was so super easy to use! I received this in the mail this morning and decided to try it straight away I was so excited.

Mixing it was simple it had numbers on each packet so you knew which one went first. The instructions that came in the box weren't really clear as to how to apply it, so I watched a few tutorial videos on YouTube first and it helped a lot. When I first saw the size of the bottle I was worried there wouldn't be enough because my hairs quite long but there was actually plenty left over.

I sectioned my hair into 2 parts and applied to the bottom half first And then the top half. The brush that came with the kit worked wonders! It applyed the dye evenly and thoroughly to my hair.

I left the dye in for about half an hour then checked the colour, it wasn't as light as I wanted it so I left it in for another 15 minutes before washing it out. The kit came with a shampoo rather then a conditioner like most at home dye's. It had a nice clean smell but made my hair really dry and course so I used my own conditioner after the shampoo.

I love the colour! Its more of a caramel color rather then a blonde. I would probably like to try and tone in a few days though just to take the orange out but other then that I was really pleased with how much it lightened. Would definitely use this again!! :D

Tips: If you have big hands like I do I would suggest using your own gloves, the gloves in the kit are super small I actually opted out and used just my hands (not a good idea BTW) and definitely use this dye in a well ventilated room, it has that really strong chemical smell.

New favourite at home kit!

I have found a new love in at home hair dyeing kits with my trial of the L’oreal Paris Preference Wild Ombre Kit. This kit makes ombre so easy and affordable to do at home and I had hardly any problems, that I didn’t create myself. I used Shade No. 2 for dark brown to medium blonde hair. Background information: I have dyed hair (chocolate brown) which is shoulder length and wavy. My hair isn’t normally very dry but it is quite thick. As my hair base colour is a rich red/brown this kit gave me a bit of a fiery chocolate brown to strawberry blonde looking ombre. The Applicator brush which comes with this kit is do helpful! If made the application so much easier. The application really is all in the brush so make sure you keep it for another time when you want to use a cheaper bleaching kit. The hardest part of the application for me was trying to figure out if I had managed to reach the back of my head properly, and when putting the streak through my fringe (like in the picture on the box) as I put a little bit too much colour in it. I am really excited by my results as the ombre has really lifted the colour in my face, making me look less pale than I did with one dark colour. 1 box definitely has enough mixture for shoulder length hair as I did a horizontal application (bolder than vertical) and still had a bit of mixture left in the applicator bottle. If you are nervous or just want to be extra prepared just watch a whole lot of tutorial videos on YouTube. I think that the price of $17.99 is really affordable and it is awesome that you can just pick up the kit at your local Farmers or Countdown Supermarket. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes to do their hair at home and is looking for a more affordable option than at the hair dressers.

Tips: If you are going to go for the streak in the fringe, less is best. Also make sure you have some sort of hair oil or leave in conditioner to put in your hair afterwards, especially if you hair has previously been dyed. If you have shorter hair like me, you may also want someone to check that you have applied the colour evenly at the back of your head.

Very impressed!

I have never dyed my hair and I was beginning to find being brunette a bit boring. I have used this twice now, once my friends did it for me and the second time I did it by myself, both times I absolutely loved the results! The first time I used this my friends did it for me, as I have never dyed my hair before and was worried I wouldn't be able to do it myself. They did a great job and I ended up with a nice caramel colour in the ends of my hair. A couple of weeks later I got a trim and some of the coloured pieces were removed, ruining the effect, so I decided to give it a go by myself this time. I was quite nervous at first, but once I got started I found it quite easy. I have quite a bit of hair so I did it a layer at a time, I am happy I did this as I ended up with a variation of colour which created a more natural effect. Since there were still some blond bits from the first time I used this product, I also ended up with some very blond bits spread though out my hair which I also liked. This damaged my hair a little bit but of course this is to be expected as I was bleaching out my hair. The brush that came with this made the product easy to disperse, although for the tips I often used my fingers to work in the product so it would be more concentrated in my ends. Overall I am very happy with this product and I think it will look great in the summer. I am looking forward to using it again and next time I might try the one for darker hair.

ahh I am in love <3

L'Oreal Paris Preference Wild Ombre - this dye is amazing!

I have used this twice now, to get a really nice highlighted/ombre look.

I previously paid $300 at a hairdressers to try and attain this look, but was completely unsatisfied with how it turned out... I left it for a couple of months so I wouldn't damage my hair then saw these babies online!

I watched countless amounts of youtube reviews, and tutorials about this product and decided to give it a go myself. The first time I left it on for the full amount of time, and it came it a gorgeous colour. I left this for a couple of months, and just this week decided I wanted to go even lighter. I used the same packet, and it looks amazing! I am so wrapped with how it has turned out.

My hair also feels amazing... it doesn't feel damaged at all. :) (BONUS)

NOW GO OUT AND TRY IT!

Tips: Watch youtube clips! That helped me heaps :)

I had ombre done at a hairdressers for a ridiculous price, once that had faded out I did this and it worked just as well if not better! Was so easy to use for at home hair dye, Such a GREAT experience :)

L'Oréal Paris preference wild ombre shade two

So I was excited to try out this product. I watched some YouTube videos on the application process and it looked easy enough so I jumped right in! I was surprised about how easy it is to apply, the brush it comes with is really good (I'll be keeping mine lol) so as I'm applying it my hair is already getting lighter which I thought was great. I left it in for around 40mins it says no longer than 45mins. I was slightly worried I would get a harsh line where the ombre starts but the brush is really good and prevents that. I let my hair air dry and when it was fully dry I went to the mirror to inspect.. My hair was soo dry from the dye, and it's turned out a brassy colour, which I semi expected because I have really dark brown dyed hair. It does do a really good job lightning I would say my hair is around 4 shades lighter. Personally I wouldn't recommend this to people that have really dark dyed hair because it will be brassy. I would recommend it to people with lighter brown hair it would definitely be worth it. Overall I think it's a great product on the right hair type :)

Tips: If you have long hair start the ombre around the chin. If you have shorter hair start around ears :)
