Absolutely AMAZING!

The most simple, affordable and beautiful way to get the ombre look without spending a fortune at the hairdressers. You get a specialised brush with the kit which pretty much does everything for you! All I had to do was brush the formula into my hair where I wanted it to go, leave for the recommended time and rinse out. 40 minutes later I have perfect ombre hair! I already had dyed hair and this colour still took really well to my hair and has lasted well over a month so far without becoming drying or straw-like, which some bleaches can do. 100% recommend!

Tips: Dye your hair in a well ventilated room as the smell of the dye is pretty strong and not good for your precious nose!

wow!!

This was so super easy to use! I received this in the mail this morning and decided to try it straight away I was so excited.

Mixing it was simple it had numbers on each packet so you knew which one went first. The instructions that came in the box weren't really clear as to how to apply it, so I watched a few tutorial videos on YouTube first and it helped a lot. When I first saw the size of the bottle I was worried there wouldn't be enough because my hairs quite long but there was actually plenty left over.

I sectioned my hair into 2 parts and applied to the bottom half first And then the top half. The brush that came with the kit worked wonders! It applyed the dye evenly and thoroughly to my hair.

I left the dye in for about half an hour then checked the colour, it wasn't as light as I wanted it so I left it in for another 15 minutes before washing it out. The kit came with a shampoo rather then a conditioner like most at home dye's. It had a nice clean smell but made my hair really dry and course so I used my own conditioner after the shampoo.

I love the colour! Its more of a caramel color rather then a blonde. I would probably like to try and tone in a few days though just to take the orange out but other then that I was really pleased with how much it lightened. Would definitely use this again!! :D

Tips: If you have big hands like I do I would suggest using your own gloves, the gloves in the kit are super small I actually opted out and used just my hands (not a good idea BTW) and definitely use this dye in a well ventilated room, it has that really strong chemical smell.

Awesome

This is a wonderful hair dye. I tried it out on my "My Fantasy Hair" extensions, and the result came out beautifully! I have used extensions for so many years now, but usually companies do not have my perfect hair color. My Fantasy Hair has something close enough, and I am usually able to dye them to match my hair later. When I used this dye to ombre my extensions, I was floored. It came out perfect! The conditioner it comes with made the hair so healthy looking and shiny. The conditioner was every bit as good as the dye itself. I have had trouble with box dyes in the past, but never did try this one untl recently. I can't believe I didn't try it sooner. There is just an obvious quality difference in the way the ombre effect appears. The fade to color is clean, and evenly spread. Will be recommending to all of my friends!

Tips: Do exactly what the directions say, and nothing less.

Ole Ombre!

Here's the history of my hair: From my teen years to early 20s I coloured my hair so often it bordered on abuse. Usually at home. Then a few years ago I decided enough was enough and I grew out my colour. Fastforward a few years and I have mid-back length virgin medium brown hair (that is ridiculously thick)

So I'm not sure what made me give up my home-hair-dye strike but I am so glad I did!

You get the usual home colouring goodies - different tubes to mix, gloves, a conditioning-shampoo and then there's this weird looking brush. I gave the instructions a quick squizz, watched the YouTube video and went for it.

First I brushed my hair and then tangle-teezed it really well. This is important!

The gloves are small and a thicker 'material' than your average. They are much better than those giant clear gloves that literally fall off my child-sized hands.

Mixing the products was pretty easy, you add the mixing powder from a sachet and the lightening cream from a tube into the applicator bottle. My only gripe is the metal 'toothpaste tube' was actually quite hard to squeeze towards the end, so I'm not convinced I got all of that into the applicator bottle.

To apply you part your hair down the back of your head and pull the sections over your shoulders - think pigtails. As I have thick hair I also divided my two sections in to layers.

I began by wearing a towel around my shoulders but I quickly got rid of it - as you leave your hair down for this (pulled over your shoulders over you chest) the towel just feels too bulky to apply the product properly.

Applying the product to the brush is easy and brushing it on to your hair is even easy - but - your hair will knot. It's the nature of bleach - you'll feel the brush dragging through your hair and when you start higher up and brush through the same section it's even more knotty. DON'T panic! Just try to keep your hair as smooth as possible.

There was plenty of mixture for my hair (I'd say I ombred from my mouth level, so maybe an 8 inch length). I also didn't stress too much about the neatness of application - I tried to vary 'the mason line', so I pulled a few thin sections of hair and highlighted from further up.

I kept it on for the full 45 minutes, hopped in the shower and rinsed. The conditioning shampoo smelt like soap and didn't feel overly conditioning. So I squeezed out the excess water, slapped on some 3 Minute Miracle and gave my hair an intensive condition. I detangled before washing out.

The results: First off, my hair felt fantastic. It wasn't dry, it wasn't fried, it was silky smooth. The colour was far lighter than I thought my hair would get - it's a really lovely, non brassy, non ginger tone and it isn't a harsh divide between dark and light!

Over all - I love this product, I've already stocked up and have another pack in my cabinet for when I feel like ombreing some more!

Tips: - Tangle Teeze your hair before use! - Wear an old top - a towel around the neck is too bulky and hinders brushing the product through. - Deep condition after using the shampoo and tangle teeze your hair before rinsing. - If you have thick hair section off into top/middle/bottom layers as well as pulling your hair to either side. - be sure to apply to the ends first (all around) and then work from the midlengths. You want a gradient, not a harsh line, so you want your ends to lighten for longer.

Brown to blonde ombré

My first impression of this product was great. The box looked appealing. Inside it had all you needed, good instructions and a brush to apply to your hair.

Before using this I did some research on best way to do an ombré. This helped me decide where to start so I wouldnt end up with the blonde beginning to high or to low depending on hair length and preference this will differ for everyone. I decided to go with starting at the bottom off my hair.

There was a good amount of product for my hair which sits couple of inches below my shoulders. I sections my hair and wrapped a towel around my shoulders before I begane applying the product to protect my clothes. Applying the colour was ralitively easy and think most people will be able to so it and pull of a great look.

My end result was great. I found my hair turned a really nice shade of blonde and colour change between brown and blonde is gradual.

I would use this product again and would recommend it to friends. If your wanting to give yourself an ombré look without paying salon prices I recommend trying this product.

Tips: Do some research first. YouTube have heaps of videos showing you how to section and apply the colour so you can get that gradual look. No one want a blunt line between colours.

Loving the ombre.....

I started off by reading some info online and looking at a few youtube clips about how to best use the ombre kit - I was feeling fairly nervous about doing it so decided to enlist the help of my sister (after reading other reviews i'm glad I did). I really liked the look of the box, and the instructions included were nice and clear, and easy to follow (but I would still recommend watching a "how to" video the first time). Adding the powder and cream to the bottle was easy enough however the gloves while feeling very good quality wise would never have fitted my hands - my sister even found them very snug fitting. For the application of the solution we started at the ends, before moving up to about chin level - this gave the desired look of layered colour. The only concern with the application was whether or not all of the hair was being covered evenly, the brush certainly helped to ensure a good coverage. Thick hair really needs to be sectioned into small sections of hair. My natural colour is dark blonde/light brown, I checked the colour after 25 minutes and decided it was about the level I wanted it to be at. To finish off it simply needed the solution rinsed out with warm water and then applying the conditioning lotion (I was very impressed with the generous amount that was supplied). Afterwards my hair still felt a bit dry/damaged so I also applied some of my own product to help lock some moisture back into my hair. I have quite long, thick hair and was a little worried about there not being enough solution but was pleasantly surprised to find that there was even a small amount left over! Overall I love my hair, the look is exactly what I wanted and I would definitely use this kit again and recommend it to friends.

Tips: 1- Have a someone you trust on hand to help you out - or even better do the whole application 2- If you tend to get dry hair (or it is already damaged) have some hair oil or extra conditioning lotion on hand in case you need it 3- start at the tips of your hair and work up

New favourite at home kit!

I have found a new love in at home hair dyeing kits with my trial of the L’oreal Paris Preference Wild Ombre Kit. This kit makes ombre so easy and affordable to do at home and I had hardly any problems, that I didn’t create myself. I used Shade No. 2 for dark brown to medium blonde hair. Background information: I have dyed hair (chocolate brown) which is shoulder length and wavy. My hair isn’t normally very dry but it is quite thick. As my hair base colour is a rich red/brown this kit gave me a bit of a fiery chocolate brown to strawberry blonde looking ombre. The Applicator brush which comes with this kit is do helpful! If made the application so much easier. The application really is all in the brush so make sure you keep it for another time when you want to use a cheaper bleaching kit. The hardest part of the application for me was trying to figure out if I had managed to reach the back of my head properly, and when putting the streak through my fringe (like in the picture on the box) as I put a little bit too much colour in it. I am really excited by my results as the ombre has really lifted the colour in my face, making me look less pale than I did with one dark colour. 1 box definitely has enough mixture for shoulder length hair as I did a horizontal application (bolder than vertical) and still had a bit of mixture left in the applicator bottle. If you are nervous or just want to be extra prepared just watch a whole lot of tutorial videos on YouTube. I think that the price of $17.99 is really affordable and it is awesome that you can just pick up the kit at your local Farmers or Countdown Supermarket. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes to do their hair at home and is looking for a more affordable option than at the hair dressers.

Tips: If you are going to go for the streak in the fringe, less is best. Also make sure you have some sort of hair oil or leave in conditioner to put in your hair afterwards, especially if you hair has previously been dyed. If you have shorter hair like me, you may also want someone to check that you have applied the colour evenly at the back of your head.

Very impressed!

I have never dyed my hair and I was beginning to find being brunette a bit boring. I have used this twice now, once my friends did it for me and the second time I did it by myself, both times I absolutely loved the results! The first time I used this my friends did it for me, as I have never dyed my hair before and was worried I wouldn't be able to do it myself. They did a great job and I ended up with a nice caramel colour in the ends of my hair. A couple of weeks later I got a trim and some of the coloured pieces were removed, ruining the effect, so I decided to give it a go by myself this time. I was quite nervous at first, but once I got started I found it quite easy. I have quite a bit of hair so I did it a layer at a time, I am happy I did this as I ended up with a variation of colour which created a more natural effect. Since there were still some blond bits from the first time I used this product, I also ended up with some very blond bits spread though out my hair which I also liked. This damaged my hair a little bit but of course this is to be expected as I was bleaching out my hair. The brush that came with this made the product easy to disperse, although for the tips I often used my fingers to work in the product so it would be more concentrated in my ends. Overall I am very happy with this product and I think it will look great in the summer. I am looking forward to using it again and next time I might try the one for darker hair.

Easy peasy ombre

I absolutely love this trend and wanted to try it for ages but was too scared due to some diy disasters with bleach..But after reading so many posititive reviews about this product i finally did it and i'm glad i did love the result! My hair is a medium brown and turned out exactly the same as the model's on the box.

This product is super easy to apply you simply squirt the bleach formula onto the brush and comb through. The brush itself is fantastic you will want to keep that, the gloves a quite small if you have larger hands or long fingers they may not fit.

I left the product to develop on my hair for 45 minutes and did notice instantly upon washing out that my hair had dried out a bit, but that was to be expected. The conditioning treatment did help to put a bit of moisture back into my hair although i think it could be better. After putting some oils through my hair once it had dried it still seems to be in really good condition.

I have nothing negative to say about this product it's amazing, will be redoing in a couple of months to further lighten up for summer!

Tips: Don't be afraid to try this it's so easy and safe!

ahh I am in love <3

L'Oreal Paris Preference Wild Ombre - this dye is amazing!

I have used this twice now, to get a really nice highlighted/ombre look.

I previously paid $300 at a hairdressers to try and attain this look, but was completely unsatisfied with how it turned out... I left it for a couple of months so I wouldn't damage my hair then saw these babies online!

I watched countless amounts of youtube reviews, and tutorials about this product and decided to give it a go myself. The first time I left it on for the full amount of time, and it came it a gorgeous colour. I left this for a couple of months, and just this week decided I wanted to go even lighter. I used the same packet, and it looks amazing! I am so wrapped with how it has turned out.

My hair also feels amazing... it doesn't feel damaged at all. :) (BONUS)

NOW GO OUT AND TRY IT!

Tips: Watch youtube clips! That helped me heaps :)
