Always turns out darker

I have been dying my hair for 5 years and have found that the browns always turn out a lot darker than shown on the package.

Tips: Always buy 1-2 shades lighter than you want to go :) & dont keep in longer than suggested

Garnier Nutrisse

I have used this hair colour over the years. It smells lovely and the oils make your hair shiney and soft just as the manufacturers claim. The problem I have found with this product is it doesnt cover my greys consistantly. Its an okay coverage but sometimes i find sparklies still there after ive put a colour through.

average

It is a good product and is cheap, but I love my hair and find it dry's my hair out after a few days and I can never find the right blond that I am looking for so my hair colour is always changing, and I am always having to redo it after 4 weeks. but love the conditioner.

Blonde to red

I used the garnier 6.60 red on my blonde hair which is quite thick and I'm not sure if it was the fact my hair was blonde and super dry or what but I had to use 4 bottles!! I have also used the brown 53 and used just over 3 bottles. It does make your hair feel lovely unlike some other supermarket colours but I think if you have really thick hair maybe try a different brand

Tips: Don't use it if you have super thick hair or really dry hair or you will have to use a lot. If you want to go red I suggest doing it professionally!

Ok for price

It's ok not the best, I do love their auburn colours which turn out well. Find their browns too mousey but if that's what you are looking for then perfect, also if dying over dark hair always come out darker than photo on box where comparing

Hmmmm so, so.....

I purchased Garnier Nutrisse in vibrant red. I got it on sale so was impressed with the price however at the time I have hair down to my butt so had to get three boxes to cover it all. I couldn't stand the smell it gave me a headache and made my scalp burn which I can only assume to be ammonia. It was easy to apply and I got maximum coverage. I left it in for the 25-30 minutes it suggests then rinsed it out. I found that the colour didn't stick very well at all and only made my hair dark brown/red rather than vibrant red. I didn't like the gloves they have in the package either. I have long fingers and the gloves were far too short so I have to buy gloves that fit to protect myself from the dye. All in all I wouldn't buy it again because it doesn't come out with the colour stated even though it wasn't dark hair to begin with.

Tips: Only good for a retouch or highlights to dark red or brown hair

Perfectly Fine

This is a good middle of the range hair colour. I like the little oil capsule, it does make your hair feel good and smell nice. I use the dark brunette/red toned shades and I find the colour is vibrant for a week or so then fades quite quickly. It's reasonably easy to apply, no better or worse than other liquid dyes I've used. I think the main draw card is how nice and soft my hair feels afterwards. It's not a preferred brand for me, I'd probably only use it again if it were on special.

The colour is good but I can't recommend it

I used this product last night and had to use two boxes because my hair is long. It was a special offer for a 1/3 off full price which was good value.

I couldn’t find the cappuccino colour I wanted though so opted for the next darkest brown.

I do like the colour and it did cover my thick and springy grey hairs well but really the negative outweighed the positive by far.

On the plus side: The packaging is designed to be easy to use and the colour is fine. That's as much as I can say about that.

On the negative side: The most obnoxious thing is the really intense chemical odour which I didn’t expect from a dark colouring product. It smelled like ammonia from a wet nappy and is as strong as bleach concoction you would use to lighten your hair. It’s really not nice and hangs around after it dries.

Note to self: don’t do this at night before bed again unless you want to choke in your sleep lol.

The gloves are flimsy and split apart while I used them and the product stripped the clear nail varnish off of my nails while i rinsed it out and applied the conditioner!

The conditioner isn’t that great either for that matter, especially when you consider I used the two small plastic bottles of it and still needed more. I had to apply a little of another nourishing conditioner product on the ends of my hair after it had dried. That is also bearing in mind I had my hair cut last week so it wasn’t in need of any split ends trimming off.

My first thought was “what ingredients does this have?” Well, I checked it out. I don’t know if other hair colouring has this amount of chemicals in it, but really is this necessary?

Tips: It may be better suited to shorter hair and I wouldn't recommend it if you have allergies to chemicals, the smell is knockout strong and these are the ingredients:
