I wasn't sure about this gel at first. I tried using it straight from the tube but it definitely works best for my fine, high porosity hair when I emulsify it in my hands with a bit of water. It's quite thick so otherwise it's hard to apply evenly. It has a fairly strong hold and is ideal for those following the Curly Girl method as it's silicone and sulphate free. I continue to use it by layering it up with various other products as it gives great hold but no neccessarily great definition (I usually need another product for that purpose). It seems to blend well with other products, which is a bonus. Gives a great, stiff gel cast that you can scrunch out to reveal very soft curls/waves. Will probably purchase again as it works well with other products but am not sure I'd use it alone.
Tips: Very thick - a little goes a long way!
