Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream

I got mine in light, so when I first did a makeup swatch on my hand, I was surprised at the colour. But when it's blended it's a bit lighter, it's suited for people who aren't pale. I also felt that the cream was a bit thick and took awhile to blend out. I've tried blending this out with both my hands and a brush. Applying it with a brush seems much easier but I still had to even it out with my hands because it just didn't apply very well.

The coverage is very light as well, so it wasn't enough for me to apply just one layer. There's also a light fragrance coming from the cream which I didn't like, because it smells a bit strong to me. After applying it, it takes while awhile to dry, so it ends up caking very easily. It only lasted me a few hours without reapplying. It gave my face a glowy look, but it felt very sticky.

This isn't the first BB cream I've used and I must say the other BB creams have worked a lot better for me than this one. But this is the cheapest BB cream I have used so far. So if you don't need a lot of coverage, this BB cream could be for you.

Tips: When you're applying this, don't use it like a normal BB cream you just need to apply a little bit. If you use it like a normal BB cream, your makeup might end up caking throughout the day.

Normal Skin BB

I was excited to try out this cream, having heard many people say how much they love it. However I was quite disappointed. I chose the normal skin as my skin is clear and not overly oily or dry. The cream came out thick and creamy as I expected, but as I rubbed it on it seemed to thin out and become quite oily (which I guess could be good in terms of not needing to use much!). For me though, this felt awful to be putting on my skin, and that oily feeling stayed with me all day. It did do a fairly good job of covering up my red cheeks, but I would not want to put myself feeling so yuck just to do that. I was also surprised that the light shade is too dark for my skin, it took a lot of blending to try and erase the line around my face. Overall I would not purchase this product again, I will stick to my regular foundation that is the right shade for my skin and also stays on all day without me even knowing its there!

Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream- normal

My skin is in good condition as in well hydrated so also good tone and texture, i get the odd breakout and have a lot of pigmentation (freckles) so i like to try and even out the appearance of them a little. The consistency of the product is rather smooth and light and was easy to apply, i would just rub it on my fingertips and then over the face. It washes off of the fingers easily with water which is great. It has quite a perfumed fragrance though that fades straight away. It gives a light to medium coverage: just slightly evening out my pigmentation, gives a bit of a healthy glow and doesn't dry out my skin but does make my nose a little oily by the end of the day, has a matt finish and does last all day. The colour leaves my skin looking a little flushed so slightly to much orange/red pigment to it. I'm not sure what similar products are retailed for but this product at $17.49 is fine. The packaging is nice and simple and easy to use. Results: i did expect more from a BB cream as i have heard that they are pretty amazing... it's 5 promises: 24 hr hydration: i wouldn't say that this product is overly hydrating. Evens complexion: slightly. Corrects blemishes: no. Boosts healthy glow: yes. UV protection SPF 15: hopefully. If somebody without problem skin was really on a budget the yes this product could be ok for them, otherwise there is definitely better out there.

Tips: Practise application first... too much= to orangey, too little= you're rubbing at your skin making it redder. I used my pre moisturiser products under this product.

Doo-pity-doo!

I have used a BB cream previously and as expected, it was very easy to apply. It went on smoothly and was absorbed easily. However, I made the mistake of applying this product for the first time on the way to work. I put a dollop on each cheek, rubbed it in, looked in the mirror - and staring back at me was an oompa-loompa! The colour was too orange for my skin tone. Thankfully I had a rag handy and was able to remove most of it.

I did give it a second attempt, applying the tiniest amount (not much is needed anyway) and blending it as much as possible, especially at the edges. It was still a bad colour match for me, unfortunately, but I was able to wear it for the day for testing purposes.

The positives were: - it made my skin tone look more even and consistent. - it was easy to apply. - a little goes a long way, making it last longer. - the fragrance was quite nice. - the product dried quickly on my face.

The negatives:

- it didn't do much to hide the acne spots that I had at the time. - nor did it disguise the dark rings under my eyes. Perhaps I was expecting too much. - by the afternoon my skin had became quite oily, which does not happen when I go make-up free. - the colour seemed to wear off by mid-afternoon.

The bottle is a medium size, so if you carry a decent sized handbag it's probably ok but it's not something you could fit in an evening purse. But hey, it's more of a day product than something to wear out at night anyway.

Overall, I think it did what BB cream's tend to do, which is smooth out your skin tone to make it look more uniform in colour, while providing some moisturising effects. But it doesn't disguise acne or dark circles, so you're better off using a proper foundation if that is your aim. However, as long as you get the right colour, it's ok for giving you some coverage while maintaining a natural look.

Tips: Make sure you choose the right shade for your skin.

Not the greatest coverage..

I have super pale skin, and found that even the light one was slightly too orange for me. I also found it to be oily, and made me look very shiny, which I'm not used to. I tried applying it different ways, brushes, beauty bleander, finger tips... Nothing seemed to help. It's also very thick, and the smell is strange, like chemically floral or something... Definitely do not need a lot of product! Use a pea sized amount and it goes a long way. I used it in the morning, and found that when I wore it on it's own, not only did it not really cover up freckles or anything, it had mostly come off and become patchy by mid afternoon.

Tips: Use as a base under foundation, with a powder on top if you want a matte finish. Also, using fingers is a lot better than brushes or beauty blenders I found

Not a fan

unfortunately I did not enjoy this product, I reckon think the shade was right for me ( too dark). I also found it went quite hard to blend and found it dried quite orange. I do however believe it provided adequate sun protection.

Tips: I tried mixing it with a light foundation which I found suited my skin tone.

Garnier BB Cream - Normal

Firstly thank you BR for giving me the opportunity to take part in not one but two Garnier BB Cream trials. I love the handy little tube which is great for your hand bag. As with the Anti Age I requested the medium tone cream but also found it was too dark - so I blended it with a lighter shade of another BB cream which did infact lighten the colour. This too is a lovely light liquid but also failed to give me the coverage I needed. To recommend this product I would have to try the lighter shade also without blending it with another product. Im sure I would get a different result.

Garnier, get your colours right!

Hmm... pretty disappointed with this BB cream as it's too dark for me. I'm far from porcelain, I tend to get the second lightest shade in foundations that have a broad range. My HG BB cream is Maybelline's Dream Pure BB and Medium is perfect match for me. The Garnier BB in light is darker than the Maybelline medium!! I found the scent very cloying, however I only noticed it for about ten minutes after application. This is very light coverage but imparted a nice dewy finish and lasted for about 4 hours on my normal - dry skin. It was nice to have the SPF 15. I never trust claims of "24hr" ANYTHING let alone hydration, so I used a moisturizer underneath. However the product didn't obviously collect on dry patches over time.

Tips: Blends well with fingers. I would NOT recommend for light skins.

I use the Maybelline Dream pure BB cream in medium too and the light shade of Garniers BB cream was too dark for me as well. They really need to sort that out, there's probably a lot of pale people out there wasting their money on this.

BB cream let down

I have tried many BB creams, including another one from Garnier, and I have to admit I was a bit disappointed with this one. I would say I have normal skin, that tends to be slightly dry during winter so for this reason I liked the hydration from this BB cream. My face did keep a healthy glow throughout the entire day which was nice, but it was the only good thing about it unfortunately.

The SPF is too low for me for summer, yet the shade was too dark for someone very fair for winter. I've used tinted moisturisers with better coverage than this BB cream so if you're looking to replace a foundation with something is supposed to be an all in one product this is not the best choice. The explanation of a 'light touch of make up for flawless skin' is generous in my opinion. Most people who don't have "model like" skin will be reaching for a lot of concealer or adding a foundation on top for a flawless finish.

I do like that it appears to have some ingredients that are good for your skin, but the strong scent suggests that there is a perfume added which is a concern for me.

Tips: I found the Garnier BB cream for oily skin in the longer tube had a lot better coverage, and when used with a decent moisturiser was comfortable all day. If you don't have particularly fair skin this could be a great choice as a summer BB cream. If you do have very fair skin and want good coverage with SPF 35 the Bobbi Brown BB cream is a good choice (although expensive)

Too oily for me.

I have normal to oily skin and this BB cream did not help my oiliness at all. It felt like it sat on top of my face, instead of soaking or settling into my skin.

The fragrance is pleasant and the consistency is nice and creamy. The coverage is very sheer, so it doesn't hide freckles, but it did even out my redness slightly.

I wouldn't buy this product again, as I prefer a fuller coverage, and something with a more matte finish.

Tips: This product may be better with a primer underneath to help with the oiliness.
