Not my top pick- but safe to use if pregnant

I have to admit that I used this product to dye my hair while I was pregnant because I was advised that because a natural product was a safe option. That pretty much sums up the only think I liked about it. I found that the colour had no real staying power & within 2 weeks I could already see a lot of fade. On the upside it did smell a lot more pleasant then the harsh ammonia products that gas out my bathroom. I think the idea behind the dye is great but just didn't really do it for me.

Tips: If you are looking for something vibrant and lasting perhaps look else where...

disappointed with Red shades

When I used this brand to dye my hair red I was disappointed with the colour selection offered but also how my dye turned out! The red was not vibrant at all and I was very disappointed. It didn't match the estimated shade either. This was unusual because my hair was already red so it should of been easy to refresh the colour

Not soft or shiny

I was incredibly disapointed with Garnier Olia. When I colour my hair at home, I normally only use a long-lasting semi-permanent like L'Oreal Casting Creme Gloss, which I have nothing but praise for and leaves my hair looking great. I decided to give Garnier Olia a try because I was looking at going red, and unfortunately the usual doesn't have a wide colour selection.

Firstly, I found it a lot harder to apply Olia. I applied in sections as I normally would, and then I would normally massage the colour in so that I know it's even, but I had a lot of trouble doing this with Olia.

I waited the required time then went to rinse. You're supposed to add a little water then massage in, my hair didn't want to massage! I rinsed and applied the conditioner, which was nothing to write home about and I probably wouldn't use again.

After my hair was dry I could see what the colour looked like. I had brown hair and used Intense Red, so according to the box I should have a resulting all-over dark reddy-brown. Instead my hair has a faint tinge of red to it but that's about it. Also, it looks very dull and feels incredibly dry, not at all what I would be expecting from a product that states 'soft and shiny'.

I wouldn't use this again, and will probably be re-colouring my hair with another brand in a couple of weeks.

Tips: If you do use this, I would make sure you have a good colour protecting conditioner to try and stop your colour from fading.

I would use again

I used this when its on special and its great way to touch up the few greys that wonder around on my head. There is no a heavy ammonia smell which is good. It is really easy to use. I used it for my sister wedding.

Tips: For long thick hair and long hair get more than one bottle, and you will be able to cover all of your hair and get a better coverage overall of your hair.

Not bad for home dye

90% of the time il go to the salon for my colour. but every now & again il get lazy & do it at home. I found Olia to be a really lush colour & stayed in my hair a lot longer than many other home dyes iv tried. not too strong smelling & gave me soft, shiny locks when dried.

Disapointed

This product did smell amazing wasn't strong at all which i loved, there is nothing worse than colouring your hair and the smell of the prtoduct is over powering . But i found it didnt last as long as my normal hair colour that I buy. It faided pretty quickly. And the conditioner it comes with made my hair extremely oily. I did like the applicator tho it made applying the colour nice an easy. But over all i don't think I would ever use it again

Really like Garnier Olia

When I find a good hair colour I tend to stick to it and Garnier Olia is my go to brand. I like that it is ammonia free and uses flower oils. I tend to colour my hair using their deep black or soft black and I like that there is the choice. I always have plenty of product to colour my hair and find the conditioning treatment really good and it lasts for a few washes, plus smells really good! The colour is really good and matches what it says on the box and it lasts for quite a while. I don't know whether I noticed my hair was any softer or shinier than normal though.

Very disappointed

The colour promised on the box was a beautiful vibrant red that I fell in love with. What actually developed was a very subtle colour that promptly faded out with 3 weeks. I was super keen to try it when I saw it at the supermarket, and it seemed like a good buy but the marketing was the best part sadly. The condition of my hair after use was dry and mildly damaged but the conditioner that comes with it seemed to help a little bit.

Tips: Make sure to use the conditioner the next time you wash your hair, it can be quite drying. Staining around the hairline can be removed with baby wipes.

No colour change

My hair is naturally brown but for the past year and a half I had blonde, then ombre hair (mainly because going to the hairdressers for a top-up every 4 weeks was too expensive). I tried the Olia in dark blonde and it changed the colour of my hair slightly, but not really noticeable. After a couple of washes it was all gone though as if it washed out. This is quite an expensive product compared to the others and I was quite disappointed to see it didn't last. The application was great though, it didn't burn or irritate me (not that it should) and there were no sharp smells.

Salon Colour

As dying your hair at the Salon can be a tad expensive... I decided to try this particular product. I love it, absolutely love it. And I'll go back every time. I even had compliments by my hairdresser asking who had coloured my hair. My hair feels healthier and looks great after each colour and it lasts ages!

Tips: You don't have to stick to the 6 week rule - if the colour is close to your natural hair colour the regrowth is unnoticeable.
