I picked this up when farmers had 30% off Rimmel as I had been wanting to try this for ages! I had literally gone and picked it up and put it down so many times but when it was on sale I finally picked it up.
It comes in a white tube with a purple lid and is quite small, I guess with primers they go a long way so you don't want heaps of product when purchasing but its so inexpensive you don't really notice. I prefer a pump primer than a tube though as I don't like to estimate how much product I need (I always over estimate).
The product itself is quite a thick white paste like liquid, it's a lot thicker than other primers I've tried. The smell is almost like sunscreen but not quite, its very mild so you don't notice it at all but I do like that it's not artificially fragranced. It goes from white to clear and I would say it has more of a satin finish than matte as it doesn't take all the shine from my face and it doesn't feel drying or anything like a matte one would.
I also was under the impression it would make the finish of my makeup matte but all my dewey foundations still remain dewey, they just don't budge at all. I really like the staying power of the primer and my make up stays put all day but is super easy to remove, its a win win! I actually prefer that its not a mattifying primer for my whole look as I do prefer dewey makeup.
I'm not to sure if I'd buy this again, I do want to try some other primers but this could make its way permanently into my makeup bag. Summer will be the true test for how good this primer is. Its nothing amazing but it is quite good for the price and does pretty much do whats asked of it.
Although I have repurchased this a few times, I'm still kind of torn, mainly because I haven't found any other primers that work any better.
The packaging is kind of plain and the tube makes it really hard to get the last bit of product out at the end unless you cut it. I would have preferred different packaging.
It is probably the thickest primer I have used as it comes out of the tube as a thick white paste. That being said, it applies quite nicely and doesn't leave any of the colour behind which I was worried about.
It makes quite a nice base to most of the foundations I own, although it doesn't keep my foundation as matte as I would like. I have oily to combination skin and I thought that this might stop the oil showing through, but it didn't.
For the price I can't really complain as it does its job for the most part. Might be better suited to people with skin thats not too oily as this can affect it, but overall, I would recommend this primer to most people trying to find something cheap that does its job.
