I am not a fan of this primer whatsoever. I feel like it's so sheer that when you apply it on to your lid it doesn't feel like anything has even gone on to the eye and then when I go to apply eyeshadow over the top its no different to using no primer. Each to their own I guess but this primer is definitely not for me.

I love the elf eyelid primer because it's quite cheap, it doesn't feel heavy or irritating and it's skin-coloured so removes discolouration from your eyelids.
I don't like it because it makes my eyeshadow crease a little and can look a bit powdery/dry.
I recommend trying it if you can't afford anything else, but I like my lid primer by The Balm a lot more :)
Tips: Don't use too much, smooth it out before you put shadow on so it doesn't crease, let it dry
I bought up a stash of e.l.f products online a while ago including the Eyelid Primer and I'm really impressed! The packaging is basic and easy to use, no complaints there. The thing that makes this amazing though is the fact that it is really effective! For the cheap price I wasn't expecting it to be so good. I have it in Champagne which covers any colour on your eyelid and makes an even, smooth base for eyeshadow. Eye colour goes on really easily and then lasts all day without creasing or smudging. I would definitely recommend buying the eyelid primer - I will be repurchasing when it runs out!
Tips: You only need to use a very small amount which means it lasts a long time.
While I have read so many great reviews for this product (both on here and elsewhere) when I tried it for myself, it just didn't work. I don't usually have sensitive skin but it irritated my eyelids so bad that they started developing raw, itchy and flaky skin which lasted for a month. I couldn't wear eyeshadow and had to get a topical cream from the chemist to try fix the mess - all in all, while this product may work for some it just caused more problems for me.
Tips: Be careful if you do have sensitive skin and stop using immediately if your eyelids begin to feel irritated, raw, flaky or rough.
Having hooded eyes has meant I;ve always had massive problems with the rubbing and wrinkles from my eye make up. SO after reading a few tips on here I decided to give this Elf Eyelid Primer a go.
What can I say, I LOVE IT!! I no longer have any problems with my make up leaving awful wrinkle lines, and my eyeline stays put much longer. The tube is small but economica, and the applicator brush can be a little irregular in the amount it puts out, but a quick rub with your finger evens it out. This is a great product I'd definitely recommend if you're having problems with make up rubbing. However I haven't tried many other Primers yet, so it will be interesting to see how it stacks up.
Tips: Worth the $3 investment 100 times over!!
I was disappointed with this product, after reading such great reviews about this eye primer. I found that it was too sticky, and quite thick. It didn't make my eyeshadow go on any easier, or make it last longer - if anything, it didn't last as long as it does without this eyelid primer.
I always thought eyelid primers were useless, until I decided to spend a few dollars on a cheap elf one. Then I realized where has this elf eyelid primer been all my life ???
It's pretty much skin coloured, so it does help with discolouration on your eye lids, basically how I would describe it as is something, that the eyeshadow sticks to, and perfects all the imperfections.
The applicator is very nice, and the formula itself is very sheer, and glittery. But the fact it costs a few dolllars, and it works the way it does, is a wow, I would happily pay more for this :)
I am a huge fan of eye primers and this is one of my faves. I love the way it holds onto the eyeshadow but still allows for easy breasy blending. It also prevents the eyeshadow from creasing and gathering in the eye creases.
Tips: Use sparingly and make sure the product is dry before applying eye shadow so you can apply the colour evenly without it sticking to wet primer.
I was excited to try this, as I have oily, hooded eyelids. They are a bane on my existence.
The bottle reminds me of a lip gloss, as does the applicator.
I got this in the hopes that it would somehow keep my eye shadow ON my lids and not let it sliiiiiide its way into my creases. I also got it because it was cheap, and I heard great reviews about it.
Sadly, it didn't help. Not even a little bit. It actually navigated its way into my creases itself after 30 minutes or so.
I think it is definitely better suited to girls with normal eyelids that aren't oily like mine.
Tips: Avoid if you have hooded and/or oily eyelids.
This is the first eyelid primer I've ever bought and tried however I find it far too sticky for me and actually makes my eyeshadow much harder to blend and almost clumpy.
The packaging is basic and its super cheap however I just can't make the formula work for me and will not be repurchasing - I think more of a creamy pigmented rather than sheer sticky base will be better for my slightly hooded eyes.
