Good Primer

This primer is light in color and when applied to the face has a powder finish, I haven't run into any issues with this primer it really preps my base before I apply my foundation. Every time i use this primer i get way more wear out of my foundation. I have naturally combination skin and have a oilier t zone. With this primer i dont have an oil build up on my forehead or in the area on each side of my nose when its mid day and im wearing a full face. So great for people who are like me that want to wear make up that doesn't make your skin want to produce excess oil. Easy to remove too.

Expensive!

As a fan of Shiseidos skincare, I jumped at the chance to purchase this off a friend at a much lower cost. Primer is a must for my dry skin and I had high expectations for this given both the brand name and the cost.

This comes in a sleek black tube and looks and feels expensive. Getting the product out is no fuss as the tube is easy to squeeze and the nozzle is pointed which helps to avoid any unnecessary product squirting out.

In terms of the primer itself, it comes out in a lightly flesh toned colour. Once this is applied to skin it becomes clear - as in if you are a deep skin tone this isn't going to create a white cast. The primer is pretty thick but I haven't had any issues blending it into my skin.

Upon using this my skin felt the same as wearing no primer - what I mean is this didn't feel moisturising or drying. It just felt like skin. It also didn't make my skin look different - it didn't fill pores or create any softening of lines.

In fact, this is my gripe with this primer - aside from helping extend the life of my makeup, I fail to see that it did much of anything! It didn't change the look of my skin at all or make it feel different. If this weren't so pricey it probably wouldn't bother me much, as it did extend the life of my makeup. But at $71 I would expect it to do a lot more.

Truth be told I will use this up because I paid for it but I definitely wouldn't purchase it again. There are less expensive options on the market that do the exact same thing (if not more).

Tips: Spend your money elsewhere, there are less expensive primers that work the same - if not better.

High end primer that I keep going back too

And I am not sure why. It is a great primer and covers everything evenly but it is expensive and I am not sure if I am tricking my mind into thinking that more expensive = better as I believe some of my other primers do the same job but I still put this to the top of my list.

Packaging this comes in a long black tube, which has a black cap on it. The product comes out of the tube via a small hole in the tube body. Very chic and simple, being understated with the logo, branding and information being wrote very small in white font.

Formula wise this is a slightly tinted product but will work on every skin tone easily, the shade it almost like a biscuit colour that has a lean on the yellow. Once blended with your fingers into the warmth of your skin though the colour disappears and the primer becomes an invisible veil of magic perfection for the base makeup on your skin.

It happily and effectively blurs my fine lines, smoothes over my old scars and dulls any blemishes to look as if I have no flaws at all and that is the goal of a good primer. To be flawless and to hold makeup fast all day, which this does too. So even though it is very expensive it is worth the money, especially when a small pea size is normally enough to create a soft thin veil over your face. It can last a while before you need to repurchase.

Did the Job

I scored this off my Nana as she had too many primer back ups and decided it was a good time to try out a different one since I'd just run out. I have now used the entire tube of this.

It just comes in simple black squeeze tube with a precision tip. I like how easy it is to pack and its very easy to use. A little bit of product goes along way so it is best to start out with just a little squeeze.

The product is tinted but only very slightly - I am unsure if it just comes in the one tint or numerous as I have the lightest one but it seems to go lighter on the skin to create a blank canvas.

It's easy to apply and rub into the skin, I usually just use my hands for this. My makeup doesn't seem to budge with this product either. I personally don't find it revolutionary as it doesn't colour correct or anything but it does leave my makeup looking flawless all day.

I'm not sure if I would repurchase as I want to try out some more primers first but it defintiely doesn't dissapoint as a high end primer. It does what is asked of it. But for $71 it is quite a hit to the budget so would definitely try a tester before commiting to a tube. The tube does last a decent amount of time though but I think I just want to see what else is on the market first.
