L'Oreal Paris Infallible Freshwear Liquid Foundation

I've been looking for a longwear foundation that wasn't super-matte for a while now - I want a base that can last my busy day but doesn't give me that matte finish that so many longwear foundations have. This foundation by L'Oreal has a beautiful soft, radiant finish, its not dewy or super shiny, but equally it's not matte.

I have more mature skin and am always looking for a product to add moisture rather than take it away. The L'Oreal Infallible Freshwear is very hydrating and yet still buildable to a full coverage base.

I used a brush to apply this foundation and found it to be the great in-between consistency for ease and efficiency of application.

I love, love, love that this has SPF 25 - I'm big on sunscreen, and really love it when it can be added to a product without taking away from the formula.

I found the shade I was sent a pretty good match for my winter skin, and there is a great shade range for me to find a summer shade too.

All up, I really can't fault it - it has everything I want in a foundation AND it's longwear. AMAZING!

I was really happy to have been chosen to trial this foundation as long wearing and non transferring are my two most sought after features in a foundation.

Firstly, long wearing. The product was reasonably true to this, it lasted well and stayed in place, no issues with caking, settling into lines, or sliding down my face by the end of the day. I did find I had to touch up in places for a perfect look later in the day.

Unfortunately the claim of being transfer-resistant wasn’t all that I’d hoped for, the colour did run off onto clothing etc.

Outside of these claims, was it a good foundation? I found the consistency thinner than my usual foundation, and I had to use more product than I usually would, so the bottle would not last as long. The coverage was good though and buildable for greater coverage. The finish was too matte for my liking and felt quite drying when applied, but it didn’t dry my skin out - in fact I experienced a few more blemishes, despite the product stating it is non-comedogenic. This may just be my skins reaction to change in products but I don’t normally experience this when switching foundation.

It was pleasant to use and wear, feeling soft and flexible once on, after the initial dry sensation. It applies well, and worked fine with my other products. All in all it’s ok. I’ll keep using it and hope the blemishes aren’t persistent, however I’m not sure I’ve been convinced this is my new go-to foundation.

I really liked this foundation, good coverage but not heavy. Nice to have the spf in it too even though its winter the sun still comes out. Lasted all day and into the night, so worked well for work then after as well, with a change of lipstick.

This foundation does exactly what it says! It is lightweight to apply with the handy pump action - only one pump required for natural finish or two pumps for a fuller cover. It is buildable so can add a little more to areas of concern. No flaking, caking or patching - the colour and cover lasts all day and into the evening, I had two evening functions this week and my foundation was still intact, even to my forehead, which make up usually slides off this area by lunchtime! The colour stayed true and no make up transfer to jackets or blouses which is an added bonus and quick drying lightweight feel.

This foundation is most certainly light weight, but I don't think its full coverage. I applied to half of my face and asked my partner to point out which side had make up (he's usually on point when I do this) but he couldn't tell me. It definitely clung to my dry patches of skin and made it obvious I had applied foundation but overall was a light coverage. I will give it the benefit of withstanding a session at the gym and still looking nice through out the day but don't think I'll be chomping at the bit to purchase it in the future. Great for the days you just want a fresh look. The smell of the product is a little off putting like a heavily scented soap that I've noticed all the infallible range has. So if you're sensitive to smells it might not be for you as the scent lingers for a while.

It's not often you can find a full coverage foundation that feels lightweight on the skin but that's exactly how this foundation performs. You can easily layer it and by the second layer I had a full coverage base that still looks like skin. Longevity wise it has lasted me all day without any touch ups. All of my other products apply easily on top including both cream and powders.

L'Oréal's foundations are the perfect mix of drugstore and high end. With prices that especially when purchased on sale are affordable but with quality that competes with high end products.

The Infallible 24hr Fresh Wear by L'Oréal Paris is described as a lightweight breathable foundation with 24 hour long lasting wear, that stays fresh all day and gives you full coverage without a thick and heavy coverage. It also has SPF 25.

The foundation comes in a pump bottle. Personally I prefer the ones they do in the squeeze tubes because I find the pumps can give me more product than I need. Case and point being the first time I used this pump and got enough for my whole face and some.

The formula is almost runny, but just thick enough not to be. It applies smoothly, lasts well (though would still need touch ups after 4-6 hours), and doesn't become patchy of sit heavily in creases and fine lines.

The formula is buildable, so you can build it up from a lighter application to a heavy one, but still get a good coverage with a lighter application. The formula is also lightweight, so particularly with a lighter application it feels weightless on the face and doesn't clog the pores.

I also like a foundation that offers SPF, so that was a plus.

In terms of finish and consistency, Freshwear reminded me of True Match; a reasonably neutral finish you could then dress up with highlighting and contouring.

I would say this is a foundation that would suit most people and is a good option if you want full coverage without a thick heavy foundation.

I was lucky enough to get on the trial team for this Freshwear Liquid Foundation in the colour Rose Beige, and I was eager to compare it to the Infallible 24hr Matte Foundation that I have been using.

The liquid foundation is packaged in a 30ml square glass bottle with a pump dispenser and a protective plastic cap. One pump is sufficient to do my face and neck with a medium coverage, while an extra half pump applied to areas that need a little extra cover is enough to provide a full coverage look without being cakey or thick.

I love that this foundation has a built-in SPF25, and the oxygen technology means that it sits on my skin with an extremely lightweight and breathable feel. Once the liquid foundation has been applied to my (naturally oily) skin, it dries to a velvety smooth finish that looks fresh all day. A very light dusting of translucent powder helps to set it place, and helps keep any oil at bay, without settling into fine lines and tiny wrinkles. I wouldn't call this foundation infallible, as a little does rub off during the day if I touch my face, but I do understand that that's due to the fact that I have naturally oily skin. Oil plus foundation always means it's going to rub off at some stage.

To compare the liquid foundation to the infallible matte foundation, the liquid looks and feels much better on my skin. The liquid foundation looks freshly applied well into the afternoon, whereas the matte foundation starts to look oily and shiny after four hours. There is less slip and transfer with the liquid foundation, and it applied much more smoothly and uniformly than the matte foundation (the matte one went patchy and cakey in areas, no matte what type of primer I used).

Overall, I think the Infallible Freshwear Liquid Foundation is a definite winner, especially on oily skin. I'll definitely be repurchasing it.

I am really impressed with this foundation.

It is super lightweight, and doesn't feel like you are wearing a thick layer of make up but still provides a really good level of coverage with just one layer - I would say it is a medium cover but you could really easily build this up if you wanted to go for total full coverage.

The foundation is quite liquid so it applies and blends really nicely. This feel really natural on the skin and gives you a fresh, flawless coverage whilst still looking like skin. It dries down after application but it doesn't go full matte, keeps the skin looking quite dewy and fresh whilst still staying in place.

It is easy to wear everyday, and lasts throughout the whole day - bonus that it includes an SPF so it also helping to look after my skin. Can't say if it would last a full 24 hrs as I always remove before bed but I can wear it for a full work day and still be looking pretty fresh and flawless when I get home. As it is super light it does not wear away noticeably and the coverage remains pretty even, and I do have oily prone skin which can cause wear around the nose and forehead.

The packaging is really nice and feels quality, its a nice solid glass bottle with a plastic pump top and cap. I personally love a pump on my foundation as it makes it pretty easy to control how much you are getting at any one time.

The only down side for me was that the product has a really strong floral fragrance which I didn't love and I found it lingered for quite some time after applying. My skin can also be on the sensitive side but I didn't find that the fragrance had any negative impacts on my skin and it was not enough to stop me wanting to continue using this foundation.

This is definitely one of my new favorites, for both daily wear and getting glam as it love the way it blends and sits on my skin leaving me feeling natural yet flawless.

Really pleased to of been selected for another foundation trial and this was my first time road testing a L'oreal foundation so thank you BR team for choosing me as I tend to go through a lot of foundations these days to find the perfect one! Ok my first impression was that the packaging was classic L'oreal style simple glass bottle design with a red plastic cap to keep the contents fresh and secure. I was happy to find it was a pump action bottle and the plastic cap was easy to pull off and snap back on it really could not of been any easier to use.I find having the pump style makes applying foundation less messy and more controlled rather than just a glass bottle with no pump,that's my preference anyway. I was sent the colour Ivory(20) which was a good match for my fair cool toned skin however I could of gone slightly darker because I still needed a touch of bronzer to give me a more healthy look especially being Winter and no one wants to look like the walking dead! The consistency was very thin and quite runny I also noticed a bit of a smell when applying to my face although it was not overpowering and I could tolerate it.I found 2-3 pumps of the foundation to cover my entire face was more than enough when I applied using my slightly damp beauty blender sponge but when using my finger tips only 1-2 pumps was needed.Overall I preferred the finish of how my foundation looked with the beauty blender sponge because it was easier to blend,quicker and sat more evenly on my skin without any fine lines looking more prominent it also was buildable and gave great coverage making my skin look pretty flawless. Did it live up to all it claims? Mainly yes but there is one or two no's in there for me personally. The coverage was great and did not accentuate my pores but I still needed a concealer over a couple of darker spots that I have.I could not see a 'fresh face' look it was more of a semi- matt to me.It claims to be hydrating but I found it a bit drying unless I applied with a damp sponge then it was more dewy looking.I also had a slight breakout across my cheeks and forehead after the first few days or so of using but this could of been my skin adjusting or my beastly hormones having a hissy fit because my skin has settled down now and I am able to use the product without any worries. I would be willing to purchase this in the future for the fact that there is no transfer and the coverage is really good and it's buildable It doesn't appear to oxidize which is great It doesn't leave a mask like or caked on heavy look There is a great range of colours to suit all skin tones It lasts all day without needing any touch ups It has SPF 25 protection It feels light on the skin It's affordable Pricewise it is pretty good and you can pick this up around the $40 mark. Definitely value for money because it does a pretty decent job and even possibly a better job than a lot of other more expensive brands out there.
