NYX Professional Makeup Matte Setting Spray Review

Packaged in a black matte spray bottle, this lightweight, long-lasting spray dries instantly with a non-sticky finish. It does help keep my make-up looking fresher for longer with only 2 - 3 spritzes.

When spraying the mist, press the nozzle down fast and firmly to get a fine mist. Unfortunately, the spray bottle nozzles are not always consistent and some bottles can be more tempremental and vary between a fine mist and spraying rather large droplets. I've found with trial and error (especially if the bottle has a faulty spray nozzle) that spraying the setting spray into the air and then walking into the mist is more reliable than squirting the bottle directly onto my face and risk having large droplets run down my perfectly applied make-up.

I've been using the Urban Decay setting spray for a while now but wanted to try something new. So I can only really compare this spray to the UD one. I don't like it :( It feels sticky, greasy and I don't feel like it made a difference to the lasting power of my makeup.

The best setting spray ever!!! I have super oily skin and so makeup lasting more than 2 hours has always been a struggle for me. Until I started using this spray. My makeup stays on all day and there are no smudges at all. I don;t even touch up my makeup throughout the day anymore. Everyone is different,but I spray this 3 times in my hand, apply to my face then do my foundation and then do one round of spritz after my makeup is applied and it works perfectly!

It didn't really mattify my makeup and I don't think it really did anything to set my makeup. Also the spray bottle didn't make it come out in a mist, it's more like heavy droplets and they take a while to set in so it makes your face very wet.

I bought mine when I went to Melbourne last year and I'm glad I did. I have oily skin so I prefer a matte setting spray. I found that this works well on my skin and it really does the job at keeping my makeup on throughout the day. Paired with my favourite long-wearing foundation, my face of makeup lasts all day.

It's not completely matte though but I like it because my face doesn't look too dull and lifeless. The spray bottle itself is also nice and spritzes the product nicely and it is not sticky at all. It dries pretty quickly too,

Overall, I would consider purchasing this again.

Going over to the cruelty free side has seen some of my favourite things ever get tossed aside and the search begin for a better version. As was the case with a setting spray. My first choice has actually managed to do good, not great but its enough for now.

Coming in a black plastic spray bottle, the downside is that, it is complete black out so you have to rely on the weight decrease to tell you when you are set to run out. With NYX at limited Farmers stores this could be a nightmare if you run out on the day needed and don't leave near a Farmers, be they do ship and Beauty Bliss have them with overnight courier so if you can't bear to go even a day without setting, I suggest buying two.

Spray creates a nice even mist that doesn't soak the face, rather offers a light refreshing moment before instant setting. No crazy hand waving or forcing your face in front of a fan to get it to set. Just spray and go!

There isn't any smell to the liquid, well none that registered with me, which is nice after you have finished beating your face to perfection. Once dried it sinks into the liquids and/or powders on your face and helps them blend together then sit still all day. The matte effect isn't the greatest ever, especially on days when I go out of my way to glow, so that is nice for those who aren't too oily. I wouldn't recommend it as a matte spray that is the only reason it doesn't get full marks.

For me it is a perfect dupe for the product I was aiming to replace, and for a lot cheaper too. So win win.

I didn't know what to expect with the NYX matte setting spray. I don't normally put that much make up on and usually it all disappears at the end of the day. This setting spray helps the make up stay on a little bit better but it doesn't work miracles.

I didn't notice any mattifying effects of the setting spray, however it definitely didn't make me any shinier.

The scent is pretty minimal and the spray is pretty even. Three or four spritzes usually are enough for me. It dries pretty fast and I immediately forget I'm wearing it.

I've been using this setting spray on and off for approximately 3 years, between this one and their dewy setting spray they're very good and affordable products. I have normal to combination skin and find this product works very well with my skin, especially when my skin is breaking out and I need more protection keeping the greasiness at bay.

The matte setting spray comes in a matte black bottle, and when you spray this on your skin it feels like a fine mist of spray. 3-4 sprays and Im good to go, I enjoy the fine mist more than the regular heavy sprays. It doesn't completely set my makeup to a matte finish but it mattes it down just enough that it is matte and still looks like theres a bit of glow to your face. I really like how it absorbs all of the excess powder on my face and it doesnt interfere with the lash glue like some setting sprays do when Im wearing false eyelashes.

I also have a bottle of the travel size that I keep in my handbag, at the end of the day my t-zone begins to get oily and my foundation starts to look greasy, thats where the setting spray is mostly helpful, a few sprays to my face and a light blot makes my foundation look as good as new.

I would highly recommend this, its good on your pocket and works really well with normal to combination skin.

When nyx came to farmers, I knew I had to pick this up. I heard lots about good things about their setting sprays before and was on the look out for a better one. I suffer from oily combination skin so I thought this one would be better to try. You only need a couple sprays of this each time. It makes your face way less shiny and it helps your make up stay on for a lot longer, I was so surprised what with how my make up looked after a long day of wearing it. I think will be a staple in my make up collection!

Got recommended this by a friend so I bought it and I was not disappointed!!! Has a beautiful matte finish, and I know my makeup isn’t gonna go anywhere! Love love love!
