Just the worst.

This was the first ever BB cream I tried, and it was an absolute let down. This does not prime. It does not make the skin smooth, even and ready for make-up. I tried this as a primer after it failed as a BB cream, and it just did not do any favours - it just made my whole make-up application patchy and uneven. This does not moisturise. It accentuated my dry patches, and left my skin feeling dry and flaky. It does not minimize pores. It did absolutely nothing to my pores. It certainly doesn't conceal, it didn't do a thing to my dark circles or my redness. You may have guessed it, but it does not cover. Is cover not the same thing as conceal anyway? As I have already covered, it does not smooth. Again, is this not the same thing as 'priming' and 'minimizing pores'? I guess you could say it mattified - if mattifying means ' making my skin look cakey' and 'clinging to dry patches'. It does not brighten. Not even in the slightest. The one redeeming thing about this foundation is that yes, it did protect. I can say that I have never been sunburnt whist trying this BB cream. The "Lightweight ultra comfortable formula" was not comfortable, I wasn't even aware a foundation could feel so drying! This stuff also has the weirdest colour you have ever seen, the 'light' shade is pretty far from light. It also oxidises like there is no tomorrow, so I guess it could be a 'flawless, 100% natural finish" if you are an Oompa Loompa with incredibly oily skin and the tiniest pores. My tinted moisturiser did a better job than this. 160% do not recommend!

Tips: Don't use it!

Really good on my skin.

I really like this stuff. I have tried the Garnier one and the Maybelline one and they were both too slippy and thin for me. This one though has excellent coverage, less than a foundation but more than a tinted moisturiser. With spf of 20, it also offers some protection from sun damage. I wear this on the weekend instead of my usual mineral foundation, and I always get compliments on how well I look lol. This is a staple in my kit, but maybe suited to older or drier skins.

Tips: Wear for photos, gives your skin a real lift!

Affordable BB Cream

I was in Auckland at the time. I had to pick up something quick before my flight over to the Gold Coast last year. I went to K mart and quickly looked at the Rimmel Section.

Rimmel is a British label. I love Rimmel because it's known by Kate Moss and my most favourite newbie Rita Ora. I'm a lover of this brand. I have purchased nail polish and other items in their lines.

The bottle itself is easy to open and shut. It comes in a 30 ml. I have used it as a base for my foundations. Other times I have used it solely on it's own. I used my foundation brush to apply it to my skin. It covered my blemishes and spots well. It's consistency is a liquid type. Theres no smell at all.

My skin type is dry. When I used this on my skin it didn't dry on it at all. It kept it's moisture. I was very happy with my results. Cheap to buy. At the time I got it for $10 dollars. Has lasted me 7 months. All up a great BB Cream. I would definately try it again.

Impressive for such an affordable product

So I picked this up on a whim recently after seeing online discussions about this product. I wasn't expecting much as I'm quite often disappointed in the products that have huge hype surrounding them. It went on easily, even after applying it just with my finger tips (yes, I forgot my makeup brushes on a weekend away lol) I found coverage perfect for days when I'm not working and don't want such a heavy look. Also it wears well, mine tends to last the better part of a day and most important....it doesn't rub off onto clothing, which I love. I would recommend this to everyone :)

Tips: I purchased the medium toned one, but think I need the next shade darker, even though I am a very fair skinned Maori. So keep that in mind all my beige toned girls lol. The inconsistency in Rimmel foundation shades can get irksome at times! Compounded by the fact they never have testers available.

Love Rimmel, But Not This

I am a HUGE Rimmel fan. It is my go to makeup brand I have pretty much loved everything I have tried but not this. I tried so hard to like it but I just couldn't.

First of all the lightest colour is to orange for my skin tone so it looks like it has oxidised on my skin. They have quite a limited colour range. If I'm really desperate I can make it work if I have the time to blend it in really well and slowly build up the coverage. I'm not one to just throw out a product I do try to make it work. I do like the finish though, it makes me look nice and dewy.

It also doesn't really have the lasting power on my skin and can really only be worn out to run errands because it just turns my face into an oil slick and rubs off even if I haven't touched my face. Even my family have commented on this which makes me feel even less enthused to wear it if other people can noticeably see my make up is coming off and looks orange!

I wish I could use this product as Rimmel is such a great brand and definitely one of my faves but this product just did not work for me at all so would not buy again.

Tips: Priming and setting will be your best friend with this product!

MIxed Emotions

As my title states I have really mixed emotions on this product, I do really enjoy it but then I also found it doesn't do exactly what it says either.

Packaging is great, normal simple rimmel product packaging and I am a big fan as I know what I am paying for is the product not packaging, great easy to handle tube, I am able to take the lid off and apply product straight onto my brush with no mess and no worries about the bottle or tube or anything being in my way.

I love that this is a BB Cream but still actually has really good coverage, so the days that I know I still need to wear makeup but want a lighter coverage, I grab this every time, I kind of halve my weeks with foundation and BB Cream so this is perfect, and over summer it was basically all I wore, I did find the product a tiny bit runny but just using less sorted that issue. It did last all day unless doing really physical work and of course comes off during that. I did not find that it reduced my pores, maybe that's just my pores though but that is really my only downfall of this product that I can think of, I still wore a SPF during summer under this product so I was extra protected since this actually has a SPF in it as well which is great for those hot days.

Overall I love this product, I will use it again and for the price I think everyone should try it, there are always going to be dislikes about products so for me the pores is not enough to put me off.

Tips: I still used a powder over top to set this product when I had long days.

Rimmel 9 in 1 BB Cream

I tried out this BB cream quite a while ago and I really liked it. It comes in tube packaging which is easy use. It has a nice fragrant smell to it. The consistency is quite thick which I liked. I applied this product with my hands, and it seemed to provide good light to medium coverage depending on how much product you apply. This BB cream lasted most of the day and oxidized a little bit towards the end of the day, but overall I am very impressed with this product. It is also reasonably priced.

BB Cream

I have just started using BB Creams and now have a few to compare this with. I really like the packaging - it's so easy to squeeze out the exact amount required.

This is really easy to apply to my face, I squeeze the product into my hands, rub them together lightly and rub all over my face. It gives really good natural looking coverage for my personal liking. It gives my skin a boost of colour and makes me look fresh. I've found that in some places on my skin it is a little patchy so I have to look closely in the mirror to spot those bits and blend it in really well.

I have found that it doesn't quite last all day, by mid-afternoon I feel I have to lightly retouch my face with a powder to get that coverage look. Otherwise this a great BB Cream.

Pleasantly surprised after a second try

This was the first and only BB cream that I ever tried and when I first used it I hated it. Everything from the colour to the way it felt on my skin annoyed me, it's safe to say I was put off BB creams after this. After going through trouble with my skin becoming even more dry and sensitive and finding a good foundation to sit on my skin I gave this another try. I ended up loving it. The coverage is on the light side, as you would expect from a BB cream, but I manage to build it up a little without it becoming cakey. At first I thought the colour wasn't right for me but with good blending it works well. This is great for my dry skin as it feels moisturising and doesn't give me dry patches which a lot of foundations I have tried do. I now use this almost every day and love it.

Tips: Great for dry skin, maybe stay away if you're on the oiler side. Set with a powder to get rid of extra shine.

top 5

I really like this bb cream. It has a nice consistency and goes on evenly. Its a good product to use just on its own when your just going for a casual look with minimal effort. I would use this again. It is affordable and readily available in many shops. I have quite dry skin and this product keeps it moisturized and smooth all day. It gives a moderate amount of cover on its own however I also sometimes use it as a primer before my foundation which helps to create a more flawless finish
