Revitanail by Manicare Nail Strengthener Review

This strengthener is simple and easy to apply. To use you need to apply 2 coats onto clean nails and then one coat daily for 5 days. On the 7th day you need to remove with nail varnish remover and then repeat for 3 more weeks. I did have to set the same time every day to apply so I didn't forget to apply.

I found the strengthener nice and easy to use and found it dried within about 2 minutes so I could apply and use my fingers quite quickly afterwards without the polish running. I really like the way the strengthener looked like a top coat and made my nails really shining.

I had previously had gel nails and stupidly (and unfortunately for my nails) decided to pick it off when it started to peel. Most of my nails were heavily damaged and I found that although the strengthener didn't stop them breaking off when they grew out, it did help protect them and make them look more attractive!

I clean quite a lot and this strengthener really did help to protect my nails for chemicals and wear and tear. I would definitely recommend for those with nails that crack and break a lot.

My nails were is serious need of care so I was delighted to be chosen for this trial. The strengthener comes in a small black and red box with an open front showing a clear bottle with opaque liquid. On opening the bottle has a black lid with a brush in the top for applying the product. It looks like a nail polish and the smell is really strong however so is nail polish. I have used for the 21 days as directed and am now in the rest period so feel I have given a fair test. The product looks like a clear nail polish which I like and the coat just gets thicker each time you apply but still looks good. I was very dubious to start as the list of chemicals in the product seems high and seemed funny that this is meant to protect nails from harsh detergents when it is full of chemicals however the proof is in the pudding as they say. My nails have improved out of sight. They were soft and peeling prior to the start of this test and as I do a lot of gardening did not expect such good results. My nails are growing long with no splits or peeling and now with no product on still feel really strong and look really good. The cost appeared high for such a small bottle but the product goes a long way and does it's stuff so well worth it. Only down side I experienced was it is hard to remove and really takes a lot of work to get off nails.

I have always had those nails that peel and flake, the ones that don’t grow or if they do they snap at the first sign of growth. Enter revitanail....I have nails!! My nails have actually probably for the first time in my life, grown without chipping, flaking or breaking. They feel really strong, but not so strong that if I knock them the tip will fall off, strong with a bit of bend to them.

I liked the ease of using this product, and how quickly it dried so I didn’t have to sit twiddling my thumbs. It gives my nails a nice shine too so as they are growing they look tidy.

The steps are really easy to follow which kept me on the program as I get bored easily and prone to missing a day here and there but because it was so easy to do everyday I was able to keep up.

The polish didn’t have a kick you in the face scent either which is great as some polishes are foul and so strong scented. Overall I’m over the moon with this product and will be giving my nails another round in a week.

Pre pregnancy my nails were beautiful. Two pregnancies back-to-back coupled with HG and my nails were ruined. They peel, they flake, they break.

Revitanail Nail Strengthener held great promise. And, really, it worked. My nails were stronger, longer, less flakey and didn't break.

BUT it has formaldehyde in it. Formaldehyde is a chemical that you have to take great care in handling it (gloves, goggles and a lab coat have to be worn) so it concerns me to deliberately apply it to my body. The concentration in Revitanail would be low, but there's no concentration on the packaging. Couple that with the fact that Revitanail is designed to be used daily for 25 days straight, you are exposing yourself to formaldehyde quite often.

Different people react to formaldehyde in different ways. While my eyes didn't sting, the smell of the polish was strong and my concern is that formaldehyde at high concentrations it is know to be a carcinogen (cancer causing).

As an aside, I also found the polish flaked and chipped quite easily once more than one coat was applied.

So all in all, while it was effective, I cannot recommend this product due to the formaldehyde.

My nails are usually pretty strong and healthy, however I recently noticed that my nails were beginning to peel. I started to use this nail strengthener as instructed, twice in day one the once every day for seven days

And by day seven I could definitely tell that me nails were much stronger and felt harder. The tips of my nails were still a bit peeled (I didn't expect this product to repair the peeled nails), but it definitely prevented my nails from peeling more.

This product is easy to use and the instructions are very clear and straightforward. You paint the product on your nails like normal nail polish. The polish itself is an off white colour but it comes off clear on your nails. Each coat you add gives your nails a shiny and glossy look and by the end of the week your nails look super shiny just like you got a manicure.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this product as it most certainly works. Although my nails aren't particularly brittle and weak, I believe it can work even on the weakest nails given the strength it has given my nails.

I got this in the beauty vault ages ago and tried really really hard to like it. I had read some awesome reviews about it and had really hoped that this would be the nail strengthener that would fix my nails for once and for all. Spoiler alert: it didn't.

When I first got this I was seriously impressed by the size of the bottle, it's huge! A normal nail polish is around 15ml, this is double the size of that. The brush is long but slightly thin. I prefer wider brushes with more bristles that only need one or two swipes to cover the whole nail. The consistency though is really good. Slightly on the thin side but that makes it perfect as a basecoat or top coat.

I wore this on its own for a few week, adding a new coat every two days or so and removing the whole lot every 10 days to start over. At first it seemed that my nails were growing a bit better and had less peeling. But thinking back I'm not sure if that's a placebo effect. When I decided to go bare nails though I noticed that nope my nails still chipped and peeled.

Another thing is that after a few days this turned from clear to yellowish. So the whites of my nails would look yellow because of the polish on top.

Now I just use it as a basecoat and topcoat because I still have about 80% left of it and don't want it to go to waste. I mean considering the price and the volume it's not too bad? It's not a crappy topcoat but doesn't really strengthen.

But then... I dunno. I "bought" this in a BR vault, and I was excited. Upon arrival I exclaimed holy S(#&! because of how big the bottle was, I was expecting a tiny bottle!

The instructions say to apply 2 coats and the a single coat for 5 days following, and then the day after to remove it all and start again. It tells you to do this for 3 more times, so a solid month. It then says don't use it for 2 weeks, so I did that. I must confess, I did 3 weeks of treatment, and got new nail polish so I *may* have given up.

However. During the first week I was seeing improvements. I really liked it! Come the third week and I was getting annoyed, as my nails were peeling still, or they had started again. So I'm not sure if this product caused that, or me stopping the treatment caused that. Either way, I'm a bit wary to use it again.

I do like the fact that the bottle is huge, for the 3 weeks I was using it, I got to the bottom of the word Revitanail, so that's good value. I also LOVE the brush, it reaches the bottom of the bottle and is easy to use, and apply the polish.

I don't think I would repurchase as the price isn't something I'm comfortable paying especially when I'm not sure if it works 100%, but I'm glad the vault had it for me to try :-)

I had been wanting to try the Revitanail Nail Strengthener but hadn't been sure it would work well enough to justify the difference in price to my current nail strengthener.

First impressions was that the 'nail polish' type bottle it comes in was bigger than any other product I've tried and it had the usual not very nice chemical smell that is often present in nail products.

The product applied easily and dried reasonably quickly. The hardest part was sticking to their suggested 30 day routine and I found the nail hardener still worked if you didn't apply it quite as frequently as they recommended as long as there was a coat on your nails.

I found after maybe 2 weeks I started to notice the results.

The one thing that would put me off buying this again would be that it has Formaldehyde in it, which is not something you want to be breathing in.

I love having this product in my life. Since using it, not only have my nails grown over 5mm in the last 3 weeks, I have only broken 2 of them and they are all nice and long. I found this product works well for people who are sing their hands often each day. No matter the age of the person using it. My 14 year old daughter has also found that this works well for her nails and they are able to withstand the pressure of a 14 year old girl and school activities. I only wish I could add a picture to show you how beautiful my nails are. Before they were weak and peeling, and now they look amazing and I don't even put nail polish over top to hide how they look as I am that proud of them.
