I bought the OPI Liquid Sand in purple, it's a beautiful rich dark purple that glitters and sparkles. Pro's: great colour, amazing sparkle and lasts like no other. Con's: I cant really fault it apart from the texture without coating, feels a little weird at first.

OPI Liquid Sand (all shades)

Tips: Wear an under and top coat.
Matte + glitter.. Sounds odd but it totally works! Shatter nails had left me cold and very reluctant to try other textured nail fads, but I’m glad I did!
I have the Mariah Carey Mini Collection which consists of ‘Get your number’ (turquoise), ‘Can’t let go’ (purple), ‘The Impossible’ (red) and ‘Stay the Night’ (Black with red glitter).
The formula is thicker than standard OPI nail polishes, so I find application easy, – I can paint right to the edges without making a big mess. All colours required two coats, except ‘Stay the night’ which needed three. I adore ‘Can’t let go’, such a gorgeous shade of purple! It has two different kinds of glitter, so lots of depth.
I find the polish to be long wearing, more so than the numerous other OPI’s I have, even without a topcoat. I’ve tried a topcoat with Liquid sand, darkens the colour and softens the look. Which brings me to the texture! It’s rough, just like sand. Takes some getting used too, you’ll keep touching your nails the first time you wear this.
If you’ve removed glitter polishes you will know how annoying and time consuming it is, liquid sand is no different.
I get so many compliments when wearing liquid sand, they really catch the eye. Can’t wait to get my hands on some ‘Honey Ryder’ as I’m a huge sucker for gold shades.
Tips: So easy to do ombre looks with Liquid sand, the texture makes it more forgiving. I use purple + turquoise. It makes me happy!
I have three of these nail polishes. I have had huge compliments about my nails when wearing these polishes. I have a blue, red and a purple one. Firstly I bought one at the start of last year as I am horrible at nail art. I loved the way these nail polish looks and feels as it really does feel like liquid sand (or what I imagine it feeling like). I think the price for this polish is great considering no other brand that I am aware of has created this formula. I think the color pay off is great and it lasts for a couple of days before it starts to chip.
Tips: I apply a similar normal nail polish shade underneath as a base coat and I also put a clear coat over top of this polish just to make it last longer
This must be my fav type of nail polish! I love everything about it! The texture is amazing and it really helps glitter pop!
It easier to apply then normal polish and one coat is plenty! It also seems to no chip as much as a normal polish do even tho you do not put any top coat on!
The O.P.I sand range has really grown on me and each time I'm wearing it I fall in love just a little bit more.
The formula is thicker than other OPI nail polish's and last's longer too. I thinks thats due to the sand like texture.
The results can be seen in the first coat and two coats is usually enough for an amazing finish. It does feel slightly rough but not scratchy like glitter polish'. I find it looks shimmery rather than glittery.
Tips: If you dont like the rough feel then apply a top coat to smooth it out :)
Oh my goodness I LOVE these!! The sandy texture is so unique and makes a nice change from regular polish. I own four of these liquid sand polishes now and I love them all, though my favourite would have to be the sparkly white Solitaire. They make for an easy and glam manicure, and always draw attention. They are also versatile, because if you don't feel like wearing the rough texture you can add a top coat to smooth it out and highlight the sparkle! The only thing about them that is a teensy bit annoying is that they are obviously more difficult to remove than regular polish, but no where near as bad as removing glitter polish!
Love the colours and the ability to wear with or without top coat, I do find this chip quite easily so may not be best for people wanting paint their nails once a week and be done with it but I do get about 4 days of wear if I add a top coat, this takes away the sandy finish and the matte look though.
My fave colour I have is Jinx from the Bond girls collection, I wore it fairly regularly over summer and it's an awesome bright coral with tiny gold glitters... Love it!!
I have the black and gold and I love them so much. I am addicted to the feel of them and my friends all like to touch my nails when I have it on. It also looks spectacular and is so easy to take on and off.
Tips: Buy online as it is cheaper
As a fan of OPI, I was quite excited to try the Liquid Sand range of nail polishes by OPI when I first heard about it. The first Liquid Sand nail polish I got was "Get Your Number" from the OPI Mariah Carey Collection.
Application of Liquid Sand nail polish was easy and quick drying; I applied two coats of the colour like they suggested on the bottle. The colour lasts about a week without chipping and the matte "sand" finish is something nice and unique compared to normal nail polish. The "Liquid Sand" finish also actually feels like sand but nothing too weird; you eventually get used to it. The nail polish was a bit hard to remove, but I still found it to be easier to remove than normal glitter nail polish.
Overall, I would still recommend it if you want to try something different, especially if you're a nail polish junkie like me!
Tips: Apply a base coat before you apply nail polish - this helps nail polish to stay on longer while also ensuring it won't stain your nail too much. I wouldn't wear top coat over the Liquid Sand polishes though, as that defeats the purpose of the matte "Liquid Sand" finish and texture!
I'm a huge OPI fan and the Liquid Sand is no exception. I have it in 'Magazine Cover Mouse' which is a bright, glittery red. The polish applies easily, you can get away with one coat but I normally use two. The finish is really different, rough and glittery, so awesome for a special occasion. I find it stays on well but it takes a bit to remove!
Tips: Make sure you use a base coat with the Liquid Sands as they're difficult to remove and i tend to find glitter particles still stuck to my nails afterwards.
