I got this nail polish when liquid sand was really popular and loved the look of textured nails. I have this in the colour honey rider which is a gold. Firstly, I love the sparkly gold colour of this nail polish. It goes really well with black and is good for wearing when going out. It definitely gives a nice textured look with a matte finish. It doesn't feel smooth and glossy like normal nail polish but rather like sandpaper.
I did find that the sandpaper texture of my nails wore down after a few days (obviously after being rubbed against my clothes etc) but that didn't effect the appearance of the polish at all.
The polish is quite thick, but it was surprisingly smooth to apply despite the thick texture. I applied it like normal polish (3 strokes down my nail) and found it really easy to apply as there was no streakyness. This makes it easier to touch up your nail if you missed spots or need to patch up chips, and it makes them look brand new!
This nail polish lasted ages before chipping, about 10-14 days! This nail polish was surprisingly easy to remove (I did wear a base coat), and was able to remove the polish like I normally would.
Overall I really liked this nail polish and was happy with the results. I think it was same price as normal OPI polish and I would definitely purchase other colours in this range, although I think one liquid sand polish is enough for me as I prefer normal un-texturised Polish.
I've lost my enthusiasm for these since they first came out, I like the texture and how unique and different it is, but I also find it gritty to wear, hard to remove and the colours are often quite sheer, meaning you have to either build up the colour through thick layers of sand, or wear the sand over a colour. Some are worse than others at this. Theres a nice range of colours now in the Liquid Sand range, and often good specials (BUT some of these are from non-reputable sources, and may not even be genuine so be careful).
Tips: Wear a base coat to ease removal and protect your nails
