not good

Im sorry but my experience wasnt good. I came across butterLONDON in a sale. Loved the massive range of unique and pretty colours. I initially wanted to buy 3 but decided on only 1 just incase. I brought a really pretty pale pink shade, have been looking for this particular colour for ages. I was disappointed to find tge formula to be really thin and runny. The brush was also quite small. When I applied the nail polish it looked so streaky! I had to apply a number of coats for it to be semi decent but in the end I just removed it. :( Ive now passed it down to my daughter to use

Tips: Based on other reviews here I would probably try again if its on sale. But I would definately not be happy if I paid full price for the results I got this time.

I prefer to look at it than use it...

The bottle of this nail polish is beautiful, really chic & attractive. I don't mind the whole take the lid off then unscrew the brush thing. The brush was quite long which made it difficult to control, and it dried quite quickly with an almost chalky consistency, it wasn't viscous like others usually are. So it dried with quite a matt finish and was very difficult to remove the edges where I'd gone off the nail (I'm pretty bad at nail polish application & had to move quicker than I'd like with this one). I'm not sure if this is a criticism but the colour looked way brighter on my nails than it did in the bottle, so I only used it once & took it off after not too long. It needed two coats to not be streaky & actually be opaque.

Tips: Be quick & accurate, shake it a lot before using as it tends to sludge at the bottom

Champers and Stag Do

These nail polishes have been on my wishlist for a very long time. Luckily I managed to find a few cool shades at the latest bucket sale in town and picked up two for $20. I picked up the shades 'Champers' (a lovely rose gold shade), and 'Stag Do' (a light Navy shade with a greeny blue shimmer in it). They are both really different shades that I don't have in any other brand.

I love the square packaging of these (I feel like I say that in every review!). It is so different from other nail polishes. It has a square lid that you take off to expose the round lid that holds the brush. The brush itself is round and easy to apply. Because the distance from the handle to the end of the brush is quite short it makes it seem even easier to use.

Champers - easy to apply. In two coats it was opaque although I added an extra one just to make sure. Beautiful colour a silvery rose gold that I can't find anywhere else. It is also quite shimmery, but not in a glittery sort of way.

Stag Do - This is also really easy to apply. Almost opaque with one coat! It comes out as a creamy navy shade mainly with a slight shimmer when you look really closely. This also drys to the touch quite quickly.

Unfortunately both of these chipped on me after only one to two days wear which really isn't good enough. Although the colours are extremely original and beautiful I just can't deal with them chipping or wearing out on the tips so quickly so I won't be repurchasing.

Colour range good but....

This range didn't cut the mustard with me, I'm an avid Opi fan but was willing to give this range a go, very pricey but I managed to find a few on sale. I loved the range in colours and found it hard to decide which to go with but in the end my favourite was a emerald green colour, it went on easily enough but I had to do at least 3 coats of colour to get the same as the bottle. It didn't dry as quick as Opi does and it didn't last nearly as long either. Bit of a disappointment but maybe the lighter colours are more suitable, I'd probably give it another chance but just the one more.

Tips: Look out for the farmers sales as they are quite pricey at full price.

Over priced for what it is

I only own this polish in one shade and thankfully didn't pay full price. The shade is lovely (don't remember the name but it's a purple based grey) but the formula isn't that great, the brush is smaller than I prefer, the formula is too thin and runny for my liking and it is very sheer. It's a decent polish and I can't give to much of an opinion because I only own one shade and I know it can vary from shade to shade but I much prefer Essie, Sally Hansen and Rimmel to this.

Yes i know what you mean! Same goes with OPI and china glaze and even essie though, Some colours are just very sheer, if you can get to a farmers store that stocks these check out a few other shades because the two i have are super opaque :D

Overly Priced

Butter London has been on my list of polishes to buy ever since I saw a trial for it a while ago on Beauty Review, looking back it was the Lady bird colour that I really wanted to try. A Bucket Sale came into town and that's when I decided to make my first purchase of this nail colour. I always like to buy one and then buy more later if it's good or not.

The colour I chose is called Two Fingered Salute. This colour is a light green grey with speckled gold glitter through it. The packaging of this polish is classic . I like that it's rectangular shaped. A nice change from the usual shaped bottles. On the outside of this bottle is the Butter London labelling. I like this little bird that's on the lid of the nail polish stick. The brush is very normal just like any other brush. The consistency of this lacquer is very runny.

When I apply this to my nails I like to apply two to three coats to get good coverage of my nail. I find the consistency of this polish easy to cover my nails with. Unfortunately I did not have a base and top coat when I used this polish.

After two days of wearing this polish I did notice some chipping . It didn't last long at all. The packaging is really nice though. I think it's highly priced. I am so glad I purchased it on sale. I definitely wouldn't buy this again. I just don't think it lived up to what I thought it would be. I will return to see if it lasts longer with top and bottom coat.

I'm not Giddy, nor Kipper.

I had my eye on these polishes for a while, they were popping up on BR and at Big Bucket sales. Weirdly I never saw them in store, so recently I decided to acquire some. I found the only shade I liked was Giddy Kipper, so I added it to my bucket and off I went.

The lid confused me the most - you lift off the big square and underneath is a little brush with a cute bird print on top. Whether it's supposed to do this, I have no idea.

The color I got is a gorgeous indigo purple in the bottle, with a bit of shimmer throughout. That's the only reason I picked the color up - I'm a sucker for purple! It's true to color on the nail, but in photographs it comes up more blue, and in some lights it looks more blue as well. But it's still lovely.

The formula isn't overly buttery, and towards the end of one nail the formula got thick very quickly and was gluggy and hard to work with - something I don't like in a polish. The brush is small and not overly easy to use. The color payoff is good though, and you can get away with one coat although two is best.

Unfortunately this polish began chipping the same day, and because of that I wouldn't repurchase. It might just be this shade but I don't like the formula or staying power.

I always saw them too, and with the BR trial I was even more intrigued but yeah, not for me!

Butter London Nail Lacquer

They have a huge range of cool colours, except its a bit watery and applies really yucky and is really expensive compared to brands that also have lots of cool colours and apply alot better and easier. I wouldnt buy another one unless i HAD to have the colour and I couldnt find it in another brand.

Not worth the hype

I was very disappointed when I bought my first Butter London. As a nail polish addict I was very excited to try it, only to invest a lot of money in a bottle of hype. The consistency wasn't very nice and was gluggy to apply, the brush wasn't very good and the colour didn't last long. Would not purchase another bottle, the one I have has only been used once!

Tips: For the price you pay, you'll be much better off purchasing OPI or Essie.

Eh.

I bought a beautiful coral shade and was so excited to use it but was so disappointed. The formula was too thin and the brushes on the brush left marks and not a smooth finish at all. Took three/four layers to achieve the desired colour. I know other people love these nail polishes and rave about them so hopefully I got a dud but I won't be buying again unless I can try others first.
