Perfect Colour Range - Perfect Brand

I'm pretty impatient when it comes to applying nail polish but I love this brand because it's so easy to use. Finding the perfect shade of Charcoal (not to grey, not to black) used to be a challenge but I love 'Chimney Sweep'.

Tips: I've had this for a couple of years and keep it in the fridge - shaking it every so often.

Love this Polish!!

The formula for Butter polishes are so nice and easy to work with - and the colour pay off is amazing. I have a shimmery brown shade which looks really lovely as a neutral sort of glam. I would definitely invest in more of these if they were a bit more budget friendly. This is definitely a splurge for me :) But well worth it.

Tips: Always use a base coat/top coat. It does wonders for your DIY manicures & makes all the difference.

Not worth the hype

I was very disappointed when I bought my first Butter London. As a nail polish addict I was very excited to try it, only to invest a lot of money in a bottle of hype. The consistency wasn't very nice and was gluggy to apply, the brush wasn't very good and the colour didn't last long. Would not purchase another bottle, the one I have has only been used once!

Tips: For the price you pay, you'll be much better off purchasing OPI or Essie.

Bank breaker!

I have so many Butter London nail polishes in a range of colours and I must say that they are fantastic! The only down side is that they are $30 NZD each so they are on the more expensive scale. I do prefer to buy the glitters than the cremes as they are harder to find dupes for. However the wear for the glitters are shorter than other brands, which is a bit annoying but its worth it as all my friends always give me compliments when i wear Butter London polishes:)

Wish they werent so expensive

I have Wallis (Olive golden green) And i love it, if they werent so expensive id buy more, they have a decent shade range, i love the names and i do have to admit that for some weird reason, the names of the polishes are sometimes the ultimate seller for me. im just weird like that lol, love the packaging and the fact they are 3free which means less chemicals. I also like the fact that the scent is not strong at all. very subtle, i hate that nail polishy scent :(

Butter London Nail Lacquer

They have a huge range of cool colours, except its a bit watery and applies really yucky and is really expensive compared to brands that also have lots of cool colours and apply alot better and easier. I wouldnt buy another one unless i HAD to have the colour and I couldnt find it in another brand.

Freebie

I got one of these free with a magazine in Sydney.... I love the name and the colour but it just didnt last as long as my other favs. Perhaps this is why this colour was free with a mag! I actually currently have it on my toes and had to touch it up again today..... Still a gorgeous colour!

Tips: Try a top coat ;)

Butter London

This review is based on one of the glitter polishes I own - a gorgeous turquoise in colour. I have always loved wearing bold colours and many coatings of the glitter leave an absolutely exquisite looking result. However like any other glitter polish, it's a bit of a drag to try and clean off and if you ever choose to peel it off instead, it will rip layers off your nail. Every time I feel like wearing this polish I keep that in mind. Apart from that I love the rectangular shape of the bottle, it looks very classy and adds a touch of sophistication; it separates itself from most other nail polishes purely by the shape. Would definitely recommend this to a friend!

Tips: If you go for a glitter and intend to pack it on heavily, try putting a couple of base coat layers on first. This will give a good separation between the nail and the polish.

A mixed bag!

As per the review title I find the Butter London range to be a bit of a mixed bag!

I absolutely LOVE their glitter polishes - they're so packed with pigment and glittery bits that you can get away with using just 1 coat if you want to, something I've never found with any other brand. The only downside is that they're quite a thick/ chunky glitter so you cant get a smooth finish so if this bothers you then you wont like these (it doesn't bother me though).

On the other hand their normal colours are pretty standard I think. A great colour range but for the price you might as well buy OPI or even Revlon as consistency/ wear and tear wise they're nothing special.

Tips: NZsale.co.nz often has it on sale so keep an eye on the site if you dont want to pay full price :o)

Colour range good but....

This range didn't cut the mustard with me, I'm an avid Opi fan but was willing to give this range a go, very pricey but I managed to find a few on sale. I loved the range in colours and found it hard to decide which to go with but in the end my favourite was a emerald green colour, it went on easily enough but I had to do at least 3 coats of colour to get the same as the bottle. It didn't dry as quick as Opi does and it didn't last nearly as long either. Bit of a disappointment but maybe the lighter colours are more suitable, I'd probably give it another chance but just the one more.

Tips: Look out for the farmers sales as they are quite pricey at full price.
