Not as good as regular remover, good for travel

I have been given several of these as part of a Swisspers gift pack. I think the idea of these is great - a cotton round pre-soaked with nail polish remover, like a makeup wipe for nail polish. It's a great convenience for travel, but unfortunately for me the convenience factor does not outweigh their poor performance compared to traditional methods.

The tub has 36 cotton rounds pre-soaked in remover. There is a lot of dead space in the tub, which annoys me as they specifically market this product as good for travelling. The wipes themselves are quite thin and it can be hard to just peel off one at a time. I've noticed that the pads can easily take some colour off while trying to get one out - for this reason I would not recommend them for toe nail polish removal if you have colour on your fingers.

I find that while these do take the polish off, it often requires quite a bit of work. I don't find them to have enough of the remover to be really effective. Especially as this is a travel product, I would expect them to be super quick and convenient. I prefer traditional polish removal methods and will probably not repurchase these.

These are probably better suited to someone who travels a lot and goes to the trouble to remove and reapply their polish while travelling. I'm not one of those people sadly - I prefer a gel mani for longer trips, and filling my suitcase with new beauty buys.

Handy

These come packaged in a little screw top container that seals well, preventing leaks. Although the container isn't huge in size (think slightly bigger than a Vicks jar) it could be a bit smaller as the pads themselves only seem to half fill the container (this is probably from settling). They don't have the typical scent associated with nail polish remover, instead they smell kind of sweet and florally. They aren't the best at removing nail polish, it takes a bit more effort to clean off your nails than a typical remover but in saying that they are handy for on the go and they don't dry your nails out as much. I find that they leave an almost oily feeling layer over my nails which is probably what helps to moisturise them and is easily wiped off.

Overall I'm not sure that I'd purchase them unless they were on sale for a good deal. I got mine in a Swisspers gift pack otherwise it's a product I probably wouldn't have gone out and purchased myself.

Great for standard polish

I found these wee beauts at the supermarket and they were cheap less than $5 and u thought they were a great idea because somehow my nail polish remover grows legs and walks (I have a sneaky suspicion it ends up in the workshop!) so I thought these wouldn't disappear.

They come in a white plastic tub with a screw top lid. The pads are very thin like a very thin wet wipe so I was sceptical at first but they are like magic swipe it across a few times and your done I managed to get both hands done with 1 wipe. This is just on normal nail polish. Glitter polish is a completely different story and it's easier to use the liquid nail polish remover, the glitter is hard to remove and rips the pads.

Overall though I like this for removing (normal) nail polish it doesn't have that real potent nail polish remover smell to it, it's quite pleasant and has a kind of floral scent. it leaves my nails feeling conditioned and nice.

Convenient

I picked this up on a whim one day as I used to wear a lot of nail polish, but I dislike how messy the bottle and cotton pad method is - this seemed so much more convenient!

The screw-top tub is easy to use and a lot less bulky than a bottle for when travelling which is where I like to take these with me. Nothing worse than chipped nails when you're on holiday!

The pads are easy to use and the smell of the remover isn't as strong as some other types. They easily remove standard nail polish without a fuss, although they struggled when it comes to my glitter or liquid sand polishes which cause the pad to break up.

I do find these quite pricey when you compare how much a small bottle of nail polish remover and some cotton pads are so I probably wouldn't repurchase full price, but I would if they were on special.

Tips: Keep a few of these in a glad-lock bag when travelling for mani emergencies!

Nail polish remover pads

I was super excited about this product, who wouldn't like the idea of useing nail polish remover without having to tip the bittle of remover onto the cotton ball which is quite messy. This was is already don't for you.

However I didn't like how it seamed to smear the nail polish over my finger tips and only removed about 90% of what was on my finger nails.

The container that it comes in is just a average white pottle but it's really easy to open and close and it's not too big so it's perfect to throw in your handbag or in your over night bag if your going away

Handy, but not as good as liquid remover

The concept of these is great. Round wipes, pre-soaked in nail polish remover, stacked into a screw cap jar for use on the go. . . sounds awesome. On some levels, they are. But they can't quite compete with the usual liquid remover, for me.

I wear a lot of nail polish, and I don't like being at work with chipped, nasty looking polish as I think it looks untidy and unprofessional. I picked up some of these to keep in my work bag for those nail emergencies.

The screw cap white plastic pottle with purple lettering that these come in is a convenient, easy-access storage solution that is portable and sturdy. I have not experienced leaking or noticeable odour from this way of storing the wipes.

The Swisspers Nail Polish Removal Pads DO remove nail polish, but it can be messy and laborious at times. They tend to smear polish as they remove it, and can create a bit of a hassle that you later have to clear up. Another wipe and a good wash with soap and water usually takes care of that though. They're also a little on the oily side and can leave a little residue.

Lighter colours in thinner layers succumb more easily, but darker colours, multilayer looks, and glitter polishes take a lot of work. I tend to just use them if I really need to because of this.

They don't have as harshly chemical a scent as liquid remover and that's great when you're using them, but makes me wonder if the product perhaps isn't quite as strong.

Overall, these are good in a pinch, but I wouldn't use them as my preferred method of removing polish as there are easier, more cost effective ways of doing this. However, for ease of use when moving about, it is worth having them handy. They'd also be useful if younger kids are wanting to remove polish (little girls love it!) because they're much harder to spill and make a mess with.

Tips: Press onto your nail and hold for a few seconds before you try and move the polish off - it helps dissolve things a little better.

Not a Fan

I really do love the idea of these, I wear nail polish all the time but hate the look of them when they chip. I brought these as I thought they would be great to pop in my handbag for those "ugly chipped everyone is looking at my nails emergency's" im sure you guys know what im talking about :)

In those situations yes I guess they are good but they do not beat the normal liquid nail polish remover for me. I found any polish I wore was very hard to remove and can take up to three pads which to me is just a waste. If I wore any dark colors like red it just tends to smudge over my fingers rather then remove and dont even get me started on glitter polish...just impossible

All in all I would still use these if I really needed to remove my nail polish and I was out but Im going to be sticking to the good old nail polish remover and cotton pads for now.

Tips: Try and hold onto the nail for a while to let the remover soak in, makes for easier removal

Blew my mind!

I was not expecting great things when I recently purchased a tub of these wipes as previously they just seemed to lift the polish off the nail but move it around onto your skin, or if you are clumsy like me your clothes! However when I picked these up I did notice the little label of NEW and IMPROVED formula on the side and seeing as I had no other options to remove the polish at the time I grabbed a pot.

Design wise, these come in a small white pot with a screw on lid, inside there is the small round, thin pads stacked together in their moist state. You need to peel them apart as they are quite saturated, which is why it is super important to correctly and firmly replace the lid once finished as if these pads dry out there will be good for nothing.

Formula wise these are soft, non scratchy, cotton thin rounds, that are soaked in a nail varnish remover solution, there is a slight waxy, oily residue to them so it is handy to have some wet wipes or tissues handy to keep yourself clean and tidy.

I was impressed at how quickly and effectively they removed the bright pink polish that I had on at the time, which was in 2 coats with a gel top coat. One pad successfully removed 2 nails worth without leaving any polish streaks on the nails or bits around the cuticle. However once I had all removed I did use an extra one to just wipe over each nail again to be double sure it was all removed.

The formula used as the nail polish remove that was soaking the pads was gentle, non scented and didn't irritate me at all.

I'll keep buying them

I bought these so I could take my polish off at my desk without grossing everyone out with the smell of nail polish remover. They're a much less offensive smell, and they work about as well as I'd expect them to - that is, they'll get your polish off, but it will take much longer than using nail polish remover. It usually takes me 2 pads to remove all my fingernail polish.

I find them quite oily, so definitely have to wash my hands after using them, otherwise new polish won't stick.

Tips: Use 1 pad to get the worst of the polish off each nail, and once it's discoloured, use the second pad to clean up.

If they dry up, you can put a couple of drops of water in the tub and they work just fine.

Less mess than conventional removers.

Swisspers remover pads are handy to own. They are the prefect size for travelling or putting in the car for nail polish related emergencies.

I like how they are acetone free and that they contain vitamin E and Aloe Vera so provide conditioning to your nail bed/cuticles. No strong chemical smells like you get with other nail polish removers. Typically I need one Swisspers pad per hand however some nail polishes with glitter or texture to them can require a lot more and they often don’t remove all the polish.

I will keep buying them because they are convenient but always have liquid remover as well.

Tips: Make sure you close the lid properly so they don't dry up.
