Maybelline Mini Colorama Nail Polish

I brought one of these not knowing what it would be like, buying nailpolishes can be a hit and miss. I found the colour i purchased, a pink tone, to go on easy, i normally do 2-3 coats depending on the finish, it lasted a couple of days before it started to chip. The size is good if travelling or if your like myself and change your mind on colours often.

This is by far the worst nail polish I have ever owned. First off, I really don't like the packaging - it's weird shaped and quite boring. It's so tiny and the brush was quite hard for me to use.

To be completely fair, the colour that I have (Ballerina, or something like that) is never usually one of the best colours in a nail polish range. It's a very pale pink and although I didn't expect it to be amazing and super opaque in one coat, I didn't expect it to be the most streaky polish I have ever used, and that I would have to apply like 10 coats to get it to show up at all. I haven't actually done that; the most I have applied is 5 and then it was pretty decent, but I could still see the streaks in it.

Not great at all, and it's not even worth the small price, as there are plenty of nail polishes that I have found for the $3-$5 mark that are 1000 times better.

I got a bunch of these really cheap. Most of them are so great with rich opaque colours that take two coats, a couple are thinner and need more coats. The brush is a great size, I don't seem to paint my fingers as much even with my left hand ;) I love that they are smaller because I never get through a whole bottle of nail polish. The only thing I dislike about them is they chip fast, like a day or two, but hey it's just an excuse to paint my nails more often!!

These are possibly the worst nail polishes I've used. I hate everything about them.

First the bottle is extremely small, with an incredibly small handle, which makes it relatively difficult to pain the paint with. Small handle, means small brush, which not only gets polish every where, but is also really hard to get polish on, when you're at the end of your bottle.

The small brush also means that it's difficult to estimate how much polish I will need for each nail. I often end up putting way too much excess polish on the brush.

Depending on the colour, they are all different in terms of the way they apply. Some apply smooth, a majority are thick and gloopy, but ALL very streaky. I have several of these, and I find that with every single one, not only do I always need to put on more than three coats, but that each coat doesn't help take the streaky look away, but almost increases it.

It doesn't last long either. If it hasn't chipped by the end of the day, not to worry, wash the dishes twice and they should be gone just like that.

Horrible smell, and really long drying time as well.

I was given this nail polish and the color is a really shiny, pretty bright fuchsia with a violet metallic sheen to it. The color went on fairly smoothly although I think the brush could be a bit better. I had on Sally Hansen's Nail Rehab as a base coat and Sally Hansen's Mega Shine Top Coat. I stayed looking pretty good and chip-free for about two days when I was staying with my family and so wasn't cooking or doing the dishes or cleaning much. But then within a day of me getting back home and cooking and doing the dishes the first chips appeared and the paint job when from classy to tacky. I tried again the following week this time I stayed home and did the regular daily cooking cleaning and chores the paint job started chipping after two days and from there it got worse. While I was disappointed that it chipped so soon I do realize that if you do cooking from scratch and are the main person to hand wash the dishes in your household it's unlikely most polishes won't chip. I did notice the weekend that I didn't have to as many chores the paint job lasted longer. But for five dollars I didn't have huge expectations, so I would recommend this to those that like having a huge range of colors as this is quite affordable for those looking to build their collections.

Hmmm I have a few of these and some are great bu others seem streaky or watery. I find with all of them the staying power is average, it doesnt seem to peel which is a plus. Some colours seem very pigmented, others are mroe subtle, I personally love big colours on my nails. They are reasonably priced when caught on special and are a cute wee mini. It doesnt seem to have that over powering varnish smell ether.

I have a few of these wee polishes and some of the colors tend to work better than others. I find the baby blue one quite thick compared to the rest so it doesn't go on as well. They have some awesome colors though and you can't go wrong for the price. For a mini nail polish you actually get quite a bit compared to other mini polishes so it's a bit of a bargain :)

Firstly these have more in them than other mini nail polishes, which i like. I bought a pack of 10 random colours of these to inject a bit of colour into my collection, and I love them! Theyre great for doing ombre looks with a makeup sponge, as they are thinner than some polishes and when sponged on dry really fast. Lasts well with top coat, and I think a really good way to try out a new colour without buying a big bottle you may never use

The price is great and the colours are lovely but this polish chips way to easy for my liking. Would be an ideal polish for a night out or for something that you only need your nails looking good for a day.

You know when you see a color of nail polish, and you just HAVE to have it on your nails? So you look up swatches on Google before you buy and you think to yourself, "WOW this color is amazing!! I must have it!!"

I bought my little baby bottle off of snatchadeal.com I do believe, and I had done an extensive amount of googling for swatches for all of the shades they had listed. I fell in love with the pictures of this one, and I knew I had to have it!

Sadly it was not true love upon first coat. It looked more of a very, very sheer pink top coat. The applicator is just the usual type of brush, and the formula is lovely, but after two generous coats, I could still see my nail underneath, and had I done anymore coats I would've been sitting waiting for hours for it to dry.

So, no, I wouldn't repurchase the shade I got, and I'd be skeptical about buying any other shade in this range. Which is a shame, but never mind. Sally Hansen can heal these wounds ;-)
