Loving this polish!

A fantastic range of polishes at a great price. The ones that I have tried have all had fantastic formulas and opacity at 2 coats (except for the glitter toppers!). I also like the smaller size because honestly - how many 15ml bottles of polish does a girl empty in her lifetime? The small bottles are perfect for adding to a make-up bag when travelling too.

My favourite nail polish <3

Firstly; this nail polish is insanely cheap! I never knew you could get such good quality products for such a low price! I love the colour range as there are many to choose from and no two are too similar. I also really like the brush as it makes applying the polish no hassle and it doesn't take as long to dry as some other cheaper nail polishes do which makes it a convenient product if you need to do your nails in a hurry and still have them look nice :)

Cheap and AMAZING!

I love these nail polishes, with their thick brushes to reach every part of your nail and their consistency. I use them quite often and they last a very long time before they wear out.

Tips: Apply base, then put thin layers of the nail polish so that they would dry more quickly. After add a top coat to avoid chipping.

Addicted to Essence Colour & go

I am NOT a nail polish fan, and I can say that with confidence, I try my hardest to like it but because I am quite lazy when it comes to removing chipped nail polish I would rather go au natural then have to douse my hands in nail polish remover, but that has slightly changed!

Why would it change? A beautiful friend gifted me 2 of the Essence Colour and go nail polish a while ago, they dont have names on them so I will do my best to paint you a picture of what they look like.

The first one is green, it has gold glitter with a light tone of light green, it reminds me of a mint green color. You glide that on your nail and you are left with a subtle green tinge with gold sparkles.

The second one looks black with silver and black glitter but when you apply it, it is a soft grey color with silver and black glitter.

Both colors can be used as a top coat but I have been wearing them on their own. I apply 4 light coats and they dry very quickly, the brush is short and thick which makes it easy to control and makes covering your nail easier compared to the regular nail polish brushes, you get alot more coverage with the Essence brushes. The smell is pleasant for a nail polish.

The wear time is awesome. I wash dishes at least 4 times a day and the Essence nail polish is the longest wearing nail polish I have used so far.

I would love to try more of their selection of nail polish and beauty products after losing my Essence V card.

Don't see the point in expensive polishes anymore

When the Essence brand had first launched at Farmers, I was a bit skeptical about such a cheap brand. But one day, I was desperate for some new nail polish colours, and ended up buying a red, nude and a pale pink. Firstly, they have covered all the base colours, which is lovely, and sometimes, they will bring out different colours with their themes. The bottles are a decent size, not too big but not too small, and consist with the standard plastic lid with brush, and a glass bottle. The brush itself is pretty average to be honest- the brush end is flat, the application is not amazing, although I suppose I'm no expert myself- I do find that more expensive polishes have brushes which are shaped in ways which are easier to manouver.

The formula itself varies between the colour- my pale pink polish only requires two coats, and can look smooth and shiny (with a top coat), whereas the other two require three coats. But that's no big deal for me really, just takes a bit longer to dry.

Tips: Take your time to paint your nails with this one, the brushes aren't the easiest to use.

Really impressed!

When I was up in Wellington I stopped by the Farmers in Cuba Street and managed to find a Essence stand! I was pretty excited to see it even if it was pretty well picked over at the time. I saw this nail polish in a creamy dark grey shade and couldn't just walk past it. It is called 53 rock my world! It was also super cheap so I had nothing to lose.

The packaging of this is super cute. The lid matches the colour inside which is nice, good if you were looking at your collection in a draw. The lid is also quite nicely shaped and easy to hold when you are doing your nails. The brush is amazing! And I don't say that lightly. It is flat and has a slight curve at the end. Makes it easy to get the whole nail in one swipe, I wish that other more expensive companies would have a brush like this.

This applied really nicely in two coats and looks really nice and shiny. I also found that it dried quite quickly which I was impressed with. The wear time with this was pretty good (especially for the price). The tips began to wear after 2 days and by 4days I started to get some chips. Without a top coat I think this is pretty impressive. Also by that stage I was wanting to change shades anyway.

Overall I am very impressed with this formulation and would be happy to purchase more if I found the right shades.

Do You Speak Love and Wonderfuel

When I finally got my hands on Essence, I bought a small haul of stuff! Being a nail polish lover, I got Do You Speak Love (a gorgeous dark red), and Wonderfuel (a 'blurple'). They were about $3.30 each and for the price you really can't complain! Do You Speak Love is better than the similar Revlon shades I have tried, and Wonderfuel is nice too although the shade is just a bit too "2000's teenager" for me, if that makes sense? Like it reminds me of Revlon Streetwear. Not saying that's a bad thing though. There's a great selection of colours, and more coming out all the time. I find nail polish never lasts very long on me, so Essence is as good as any, in that area.

Tips: I bought the Essence nail oil and the polish touch up pen, which also are helpful for doing a nice manicure. Cheap as chips!

Essence Colour & Go

I have been using the Essence products for some time now and just love their colour & go nail polish range. The polishes go on smoothly and have a great even finish after two coats. I am quite hard on my hands so usually get about a week of wear before I see any visible wear or chipping. I haven't had any staining with the darker colours when I haven't worn a base coat; which is great. I love the fact that they are incredibly affordable - I just wish that Farmers will start stocking some of the colours I used to be able to get back in South Africa. Holding thumbs!

Colour and Go

I’ve been a fan for essence since discovering it on an overseas trip a couple of years ago and I have loved it since, savouring everything I have until I could get more – and that day finally arrived when Farmers launched it. They’re cruelty free, their products are really cheap and the quality is quite impressive.

The colour-and-go nail polish is one of my favourites, as it applies smoothly and only takes two coats to give you a great looking nail. It also lasts quite a while before it starts chipping. No top coat necessary. If you haven’t tried essence yet, go out and try it! You’ll be amazed at what you can find.
