When I was up in Wellington I stopped by the Farmers in Cuba Street and managed to find a Essence stand! I was pretty excited to see it even if it was pretty well picked over at the time. I saw this nail polish in a creamy dark grey shade and couldn't just walk past it. It is called 53 rock my world! It was also super cheap so I had nothing to lose.
The packaging of this is super cute. The lid matches the colour inside which is nice, good if you were looking at your collection in a draw. The lid is also quite nicely shaped and easy to hold when you are doing your nails. The brush is amazing! And I don't say that lightly. It is flat and has a slight curve at the end. Makes it easy to get the whole nail in one swipe, I wish that other more expensive companies would have a brush like this.
This applied really nicely in two coats and looks really nice and shiny. I also found that it dried quite quickly which I was impressed with. The wear time with this was pretty good (especially for the price). The tips began to wear after 2 days and by 4days I started to get some chips. Without a top coat I think this is pretty impressive. Also by that stage I was wanting to change shades anyway.
Overall I am very impressed with this formulation and would be happy to purchase more if I found the right shades.
I purchased a few of these polishes as I had read good things about them online and they are super affordable.
The packaging is cute and I actually like that the bottle is a bit smaller than a standard polish as I like to wear a different colour each time I do my nails, so it takes forever for me to finish a bottle of polish anyhow. The brush is also nice a wide which makes applying these a dream! If only they were longer lasting. With all three of the shades I selected I had chips within 1-2 days which was really disappointing as I loved applying them, they dried quickly and the finished result was glossy and beautiful.
I would recommend these for a one off event or occasion where you want a beautiful, affordable polish, but, don't need it to last for an extended period. I won't be repurchasing any more of these polishes and wouldn't recommend them for daily wear as they just don't perform.
Tips: Apply a base coat and top coat to increase wear time.
