The Nudes...

Straight away I give this a product 10 out of 10! Could be that I'm a beginner when it come to Palettes or could just be that I find it simply stunning and easy to work with!

I received it on a Friday morning and by Midday I had it on!

The packaging is great, I really like how it comes with the wee plastic glove over the compact. On the back of the plastic glove it shows the Duos, Trios and Quads and where they should go upon the eyelid. The compact with the shades in is sturdy and tightly sealed. The wee see through window on the front is Cute, I would love to see it have a wee mirror on the inside for when you're out and about. I'm not a big fan of the brush it comes with, it didn't pick up the amount I needed and didn't serve its purpose in the looks I tried to create. My advice use an eye shadow brushes and blender if you have these x

The colours them selves are simple and stunning. I found using different techniques to apply them to the eyelid made them stand out more at times than others ie using the brush provided they come out quite light, using my own makeup brush they came out darker.

Now for the first two attempts I didn't have a brush to blend the looks together, I used the middle quad and found even though I didn't blend they still sat nicely together when just applied with a brush.

For being a newbie to Palettes I liked the info on the back about what should go where. For my first try I did what it said, it worked great. For beginners I think this is a really cool feature on the product to have it's really helpful. Eventually I got brave and changed things up using just the shades I wanted too and they still looked great together.

From shimmers to Matte shades, you can create any look. From an everyday makeup look to a Smokey eye going out look. What's even better?? I used it to fill my eyebrows in to give them more definition!

All in all I love this product, I will continue to use it. Thank you BR and Maybelline for introducing me into the world of Palettes. this product for me is ACE!

Tips: I found having my own brush to apply the eye shadow much more handy than the one provided x

Basic, bold and blendable!

First impressions: I thought the palette was rather small however there is a decent amount of shadow per colour and this makes the palette more compact for travelling. The packaging was a little bit cheap feeling but the graphics are sleek and the tips on the back of the product are handy for quick makeup looks.

Opening the product: When first opened, I was immediately drawn to the fact that there is a variety of matte shades and shimmer shades - the matte shades were the perfect base and crease colours, or used on their own for a natural subtle look and the shimmers can spice up the look, turning day time into evening. The second thing I noticed was the tool to apply the eyeshadow. I don't like the sponge head sticks and would be completely impressed if a lower end brand had some sort of brush to apply the shadow.

Use of shadows: I used the matte white colour first on my crease as a base to make my later eyeshadow bold. Secondly I used the lightest matte brown in my crease as a transition shade, I then blended my outer V with the darkest matte brown shade. Followed by applying the bronze shimmer shade in the centre and reapplying my outer V (this colour also went on my bottom lash line). Lastly, I added some of that white matte colour back into my inner corner to brighten and widen my eyes. I found all of the colours to be very blendable and easy to work with. The shadows weren't as opaque as I like but I could build them up easily.

I would recommend this palette to anyone who loves a good nude, but specifically any beginner wanting a great basic selection of colours to work with that are easy to blend and gives you a variety of makeup looks.

Tips: Apply liquid liner or smudge a black pencil liner along your lash line for a more dramatic look with these shadows.

Try using your finger for the gold/bold colours and pat the colours down so you get more pigment and ultimately a more opaque finish.

Well who knew??

I've always envied those ladies who rock out a gorgeous neutral eye. Personally up until now I've always ended up with it either looking invisible or looking like i've been punched in the eye.

However, as I was lucky enough to trial this nude palette I thought it was time to put my back into it and try something new.

The palette itself is a very generous with it's shades and is in really robust packaging. It has 12 different nude shades that can either work on their own or in different configurations depending on the look you are after. There is a nice combination of highlighters, shimmers and various taupe to brown shades.

I've been following the Vloggers that have been posting their looks using the palettes and my favourite one thus far is Jah's look. I've almost perfected it (falsies and all) and i've had many compliments about my make up. The colours have great stayability and I think for $30 this is a pretty amazing buy.

Next look - Sophie Garth Night Nudes...stand by!

Thanks Maybelline!

Tips: I love Jah's tip of using one of the light colours as a setting shade over concealer as a base. I find it really sets your look.

Oh my pallete gods, thank you!!!

I absolutely LOVE this pallete. So many different looks so easily achieved. The colours are vibrant and last all day or night. I've had countless comments on how great my eyes look. The guide for use is great for any make up rookies and easy to follow and understand. The packaging is great. Just all around an awesome product.

Tips: Use your brush for better blending

Impact eyes

I love the ease of this product. The powder glides over the eyelids and the colours in the palette give a great impact, whether you go for duo, trio or quad. I would always avoid using eye shadows as they wouldn't go on very well or I couldn't get the hang of using more than one colour. The guide on the back of the pack and actual palette is fantastic. It helps you know which 2, 3,or 4 colours to use and in which areas. I have found the guide indispensable. The colour lasts all day and doesn't smudge off which is great when going from day to night. This is the best eye shadow and colour combinations I have ever used.

Lovely Nudes

I'm happy to admit I'm not a big eye shadow wearer. I'm horrendously lazy with my makeup use and usually reserve eye shadow for going out, not day to day. I was however keen to trial this product because it was in subtle colours, and something I could see myself using. I really like the gold colour. I have quite light skin and found this colour to be something very subtle and something I could wear by itself without mixing the colours. I'm not great with makeup so being able to use one colour was great. I liked that there were guides to mixing colours not only on the packet, but also on the back on the palette. I liked how the colours mixed well and created some nice shades that suited my skin tone and weren't too bold on in your face. It seemed to last well all day. I'm a chronic face toucher and will forget I'm wearing it and will rub my eyes, and it was still there. I would probably say for longer use or for use in more humid environments that maybe a makeup setting spray would help, although I don't have a lot of experience with these. I couldn't just use water to get it off my eyes, which I guess is a good sign, and had to use makeup wipes to get it off. I like the double ended applicator that came with it but was disappointed to see there wasn't a mirror. Yes I know i should carry one, but i have found my palettes that did have mirrors to come in handy. The palette was quite large and the applicator section seemed like a definite waste of space. However price wise I think it probably provides more product for the price. Price wise I'm not really up with the play with what other products are worth, but I didn't think $30 was too much. Was also handy that you could get it from most major stores, not just online or at boutique stores. Would I buy it again? Yeah I think so. I like the colour combinations and it's a good brand.

Tips: Makeup setting spray would be helpful to making it last longer. Makeup wipes help remove when you want it off Beauty Review has an awesome article about the different ways you can use it. Some things I've never even considered before.

That was my only dislike that it didn't have a mirror. I thought about taking a mirror off an old eyeshadow palette and glueing it in lol ;)

all you need

The Nudes Pallete is a fantastic range of tones. Whilst I haven't tried them all I can see I would use almost all of them. It includes a selection of matt colours ideal for everyday use but them aome shimmer with bronzes that are perfect for evening. I only ever where these tones so its nice to find a decent selection.

Tips: Great selection to find something for all occasions

Nudey nudes!

I absolutely love this palette and worn it every day since receiving it in the trial!! I only wear light nudey colours so when the trial rolled around, I put my hands, feet, eyebrows... everything up, to get on it!!! There are so many different options... from quads, trios and duos... from the 12 colour options available. I love that the packaging comes with a plastic sleeve with instructions or tips (however you like to think of them... for me, it was definitely instruction!). The colours are creamy and such lovely pigments. I have tried to replicate #makeupbyjah's tutorial on YouTube but totally failed but I just love what it does to my eyes!!!! I love the packaging and the size of the palette, slips easily into my handbag. The double ended sponge applicator is good for thin lining the water line. I don't need to touch up too much during the day, which I normally have to with others because I have such oily lids. I love being able to do a light day look and then a soft evening look with one palette ...its fantastic and totally recommend this for everyone's collection! Thank you so much Beauty Review!!

Tips: Use the sponge applicator for thin eyelining the water line :-)

Maybelline The Nudes Palette

Thank you Beauty Review for giving me the opportunity to trial this product.

When I first received this product I noticed that on the outer plastic sleeve of the palette, there are 13 instructions on how to apply the shadow using the combinations of duos, triples or quads. For the first couple of days I followed the instructions given, then I become confidant in using my own combinations.

To begin with, I used the sponge applicator that comes with the palette, but for myself I prefer to use a brush to apply eye shadow. I found the eye shadow blended in nicely and it was easy to build up on colour for a more dramatic look. I found this palette quite versatile as I also used the darker brown shades to fill in my eyebrows and the lighter shimmering shade as a highlighter on my cheeks bones and eyes.

You can use this palette as a natural day time look to a more dramatic night time look. This palette would be great for someone just starting to wear make up and I highly recommend this palette if living on a budget, 12 shades for $30 you cannot go wrong.

I really like this product and I will continue to use it in the future.

Tips: For longer wearing I suggest using a primer before applying the eye shadow.

Maybelline Nudes palette

Well first, the palette isn't as big as I thought it would be, which is a good thing as it fits in my make-up purse nicely. The only thing that would have made the packaging better is a Mirror. It totally needs a mirror. I loved the fact that the outer sleeve comes with instructions on how to use the palette, that is fantastic for beginners.

The eye shadow its self, I think the only bad thing I can/could say is that there are a few shades that are very alike. But that's it, and that's not even bad. The shadows are really nice and pigmented as well and last all day. I love how versatile it is too. I love that I can do natural and smoky eyes all from one palette.

The sponge applicator is a little rough and after my first use I threw it in the bin. (palettes like this should definitely come with a brush)

All in all this is a great palette and would be perfect for a beginner, really for $30 you cant go wrong.

Yes I'm with you there why do they all come with silly little sponge applicator instead of a brush that actually works ;)
