When I first found this product I was pretty excited, the concept is good but the execution is bad, very bad.
So you have the pencil on one end and a sponge on the other. The pencil has the texture of a soft crayon, but only a little softer than a crayon. It drags a bit and I found myself having to apply a bit of pressure making it uncomfortable to apply. The sponge also tends to drag and only smudges a little.
The wear of it is average. it sort of stayed in place but maybe because it stained my skin a bit too.
Removing it wasn't fun either, It just spread everywhere rather then coming off.
At the end of it all the whole of the pencil fell out and now wont go back into place, so I probably wont even use it again.
Maybelline didn't get this one quite right. The Master Smokey Shadow Pencil where do I start?
I was so excited when this came out and I got nearly all of them, the black, the purple and the brown, all at the same time thinking it was going to make my life easy. Packaging was cool, nice chunky design with the "smudger" on the end, alot to read in the tiny fine print that was on it but that was okay, so at that point i had not been put off, got them home, sat at my table and pulled them all out of their packets like a kid on christmas and swatched them on my hand, played around with the "smudger" again. still thought okay these are not that bad..... then finally then to play with the black one of my eye. Thick, hideous product, kind of between a cream eyeshadow and a eyeliner, and I could not blend it well at all, I went to "Panda" really fast and it looked so bad, I tried again with the other colours I had and it was the same result. I was so gutted I thought I had found the holy grail to the smokey eye but instead found its worst nightmare. The colours though are highly pigmented but they do not do what they are supposed to, maybe others can work with them but I just could not get them working for me, I will not be ever buying again and i will not recommend to others.
Tips: If you insist on trying these, a little amount of product goes a massive way, and remember that the eye skin is alot different o a swatch on your hand.
