MAC VIVA GLAM Lipsticks Review

Aside from the packaging everything else about the Viva Glam edition lipsticks is the same as the regular MAC lipsticks.

Shade: Viva Glam I

The packaging is the selling point for me on this one, the outer casing is the same black but the inside barrel is red and the MAC logo wording is red on the outer casing. Other than that this is exactly the same as the original MAC lipsticks, with their long lasting colour, smooth creamy application and faint vanilla scent.

No feathering or bleeding without a liner and it isn’t drying like some matte lipsticks. I’m a fan of the matte finish and so was really impressed with MAC’s matte formula for giving that full lip, intense bold colour but not sacrificing on the hydration of your lips which I think comes from the fact that when applying this lipstick it is in a creamy state that dries to the matte. The only downside is that these can be a little too creamy making them easily melt able in prolonged sun & heat exposure so take care to store out of these direct sources.

I have this lipstick in the shade Viva Glam Rihanna, and I absolutely adore it.

The shade is a gorgeous frosted Christmas red. It has the classic MAC vanilla scent which I love. The lipstick is nice and creamy and just glides over the lips. The lipstick does not tug on the lips or settle into the lines on the lips. I find that this lipstick lasts all day throughout eating and drinking as well.

The packaging on the lipstick is also gorgeous. It is in a matte deep red bullet, which shines a brighter red in the light. It looks gorgeous sitting in my lipstick holder!

Seeing me dithering at the lipstick selection, the lady in the Santa Monica MAC store took pity on me and asked what I was looking for. I told her I needed a nude lipstick but couldn't decide. She took me to the Viva Glam selection and showed me Viva Glam V, which I hadn't even considered. But of course, she wasmright. This lip colour can complement pink palettes, warm to peach tones, or blend nicely with beige or sandy hued make up. The lustre finish never appears brash or glittery, instead it shimmers gently. Application is easy, a single coat from the tube is covers well and lasts without feeling dry or heavy. This lipstick is very forgiving of the tiny lines around my lips that richer colours like to highlight! As with all MAC lipsticks, the fragrance of Viva Glam V is delicious. The tube is elegant and durable, with the red line and lettering that distinguish it from other MAC lipsticks.

If you are looking for a sexy deep lipstick - look no further! I found it stays on for a long time! Even while eating and drinking! It looks fabulous and it has that feel good factor knowing you are donating to a good cause!

I have Viva Glam II and it is STUNNING. It's the perfect darker nude colour. It feels really comfortable on the lips and applies well. I love this lipstick, it hangs out in my handbag and I adore the red detailing.

Every time I wear this shade it feels like I mean business. I share this lippy with my mum quite a lot and it looks beautiful on both of our skintones. I'm more of a medium/dark tone whereas she is fair/medium. I'd describe it as a deep burnt red with a matte finish. To me, it is just a really classic shade and it looks like it would suit a very wide range of skintones.

I have Viva Glam I and I love it! It's a slightly darker red with some brown undertones, but it doesn't make your teeth look yellower. It's very longlasting, and I don't find it drying at all, but then I usually apply lip balm before I put lipsticks on anyway. It's also very pigmented. It would be very good for someone who wants to wear red, but is afraid of a really bright postbox red

It tick's nearly every box for the ideal lips sticks! Apart from the price but its worth it. Texture, colour variety and opaqueness. Every girl that loves make up has to own something of MAC. Viva Glam Lippies are one of them!

I must start by saying I love Lady GaGa. So back in 2010 when I heard that Lady GaGa was headlining the Viva Glam campaign with Cyndi Lauper. I knew I had to have it. So I asked my parents and they got it for me for my birthday. I was super happy. I got both of them of course. I find that the Cyndi Lauper one which is a natural light red is really great for during the day and the Lady Gaga one which is more of a bright pink is better for night time going out. I love them and adore tehm and I would buy more in a heartbeat if they were still going.
