MAC Lipsticks

These. Are. AMAZING! Absolute favorite lipsticks. I now own 8 of these beauties. Heroine, Ruby Woo, So Chaud, Snob, Candy Yum Yum, Blankety, Rebel, and of course Velvet Teddy with a huge list of names to purchase in the near future.

These smell amazing like vanilla. The packaging is to die for and look so high end.

The matte's are my favorite. I find they last me all day at work, even through meals etc.

Snob is a perfect every day color pale pink and you definitely need this in your makeup collection.

Ruby Woo is an amazing red. It is a very dry matte, some people may find it too drying but nothing a lip balm wouldn't fix.

I love the colour Blankety but i find it's too natural on my lips for me. Velvet Teddy stands out more.

So Chaud is totally under-rated. It's an orange-red. More on the orange side. It's a great statement color but it's not too over the top.

Candy Yum-Yum is a BRIGHT pink, not for the faint-hearted but if you can rock it then, you go girrrrrrl!

Which leaves Heroine. My absolute favorite! The most amazing purple. There hasn't been a day I've worn heroine and not received a compliment on it. It's so so perfect and would wear it every day if I could.

MAC lipsticks are a bit pricey but absolutely worth it, It took me awhile to stretch out and purchase one but now I'm completely addicted. Sin is next on my list :)

Tips: Some are better wearing if used with a lip-liner but not necessary.

I think I might succumb to one of these in duty free next week - thanks for listing each of your colours, I'm kind of drawn towards Heroine from what you've said!

Bloody MACtastic

If you had told me a few years ago that I would spend $40 on a lipstick and not feel guilty about it - I would totally be scoffing and rolling my eyes. MAC lipsticks have totally changed my lip game for sure.

I don't have many, only three, but the ones that I do have - Ruby Woo, Heroine and Viva Glam III are total perfection.

All three are different finishes - Retro Matte, Matte and Satin - so I was expecting variations in quality.. but boy was I wrong! Each of them are super pigmented and surprising (well, surprising for the retro matte) super moisturising.

They are all incredibly pigmented, and last for most of the day. I may need to touch up just after lunch, but that is all that I would need.

Normally I don't pay attention to the scents of lipsticks, but this is pretty awesome. It has a sweet vanilla scent - which is rad because I ADORE vanilla. It's not off putting at all.

MAC nails their packaging. It's sleek and easy to identify, you could call it iconic! I can easily find my lipsticks at the bottom of my handbag because their shape is like no other! They are easy to carry and to store because of this as well.

Overall, I'm happy that I've got this slow-growing addiction. I can't wait to add more to my collection!

Tips: Don't wait as long as I did - go to your nearest counter now!

MAC

Sigh.

MAC seriously does the greatest lipsticks! It's so hard to pick favourites and so hard to refrain from buying every single one.

Two of my favourites are Cherish (Satin) and Girl About Town (Amplified).

Cherish is a perfect nude (and totally underrated) that glides on creamy, doesn't emphasise dry lips, and wears really well throughout the day. It's easy to pop a lip balm over, or a gloss over the top, and sometimes I mix this with a pink to make a pinker nude, as this is more of a true nude.

Girl About Town, oh my where do I start! The brightest of bright pinks but without the neon factor. It's on the slightly darker spectrum of bright pink and is absolutely stunning. Unfortunately mine got left in the car on a hot day and all melted to one side so I have to use a lip brush to apply but this does apply well straight from the tube for such a bright colour. I always get compliments when I wear this and it suits such a huge range of skin tones.

Every single person can find a MAC lipstick shade they love. The variety is huge and the quality never disappoints.

Tips: Mix colours! There are a few shades I haven't bothered buying because I can create them perfectly by mixing two shades I already have. Don't be afraid to play around!

MAC - must add (to) collection!

I'd heard the hype about these lipsticks. I think everyone probably knows someone who raves about them. Sometimes you can believe hype, sometimes you can't. These are pretty special though, and I'm confident that the hype is justified.

When I was heading to Oz recently the MAC display at Auckland Airport caught my eye, and I eventually picked up a lippy and a primer. The girl at the stand was incredible, letting me play and swatch, narrow it down, then tried my final two colours on me. She was awesome, and the duty free price tag didn't hurt! I chose an 'Amplified' lipstick in the shade 'Diva-ish', which is part of the new Limited Edition MAC is Beauty Collection which hadn't been released in store at that point, but may have been by now.

Diva-ish is a gorgeous shade which MAC describe as 'intense fuschia' but for me is a vibrant pinky red with lots of 'oomph'. It tones in incredibly well with the colours I prefer on eyes and cheeks (teal, pink, purple, black, brown, silver, blue for eyes; brighter pinks for cheeks).

The lipstick comes in the traditional bullet shaped black MAC tube, with the logo in silver and a silver band and interior casing (with the MAC logo in black inside as well). It's one of those tubes that you get a little thrill of pleasure pulling from your bag.

The lipstick finger is a decent size, with a faint but pleasant scent. It smoothes onto lips deliciously, and feels creamy and sexy.

It's neither drying nor hydrating - it does what a lippy is meant to do , and colours your lips, basically. While it transfers to whatever you're pressing your lips to, enough is left behind that you still look at least a little made up, and reapplication is easy enough when needed.

If you're not eating, drinking, or kissing, it stays on for a good length of time - superior to other brands in my collection - and stays looking fresh and gorgeous for the duration.

I'm sold. I have at least three more overseas trips this year so will be picking more up (I know you can get them in stores but they're much cheaper duty free, of course!) - I think I 'need; their iconic red shade and maybe a lighter pink :p

Tips: I actually bought the lip primer alongside this, and it definitely helps the lipstick cling to your lips. Worth looking at!

Mac-Nificent

Owning a mac lipstick has been on my bucket list since I first got into beauty. Everyone seems to have one or want one (if not many many more).

The Mac lipsticks (minus the LE) comes in a beautiful black bullet cylinder, with a small mac logo on the side. Its simplistic, but iconic design makes this a lipstick you want to show off. Like most lipsticks, you use a twist up mechanism to move the lipstick up the tube, which is standard.

The first MAC lipstick I brought was Brave, which is a pink with a beige undertone, and comes in a satin finish. It has a creamy and smooth formula which glides over my lips, without any tugging! The lipstick smells like .. something sweet! I instantly think vanilla, but I don’t actually know if that’s right. Anyway, the lipstick is long lasting and when it does wear, it wear evenly and gracefully (if you know what I mean).

This lipstick has started a MAC addiction, and I have already purchased a few more!

MAC Lipstick Review

So I love Mac products (of course) and it was no surprise to me that the lipsticks are amazing. Nice colour range too choose from. The lipstick itself smells really nice (like vanilla butter in my opinion) nice creamy texture and the matte ones aren't too drying. I would however recommend a lip liner whole wearing it, just to help it last longer and also to get that perfect line (I always over draw my lips while doing looks, but please note as I am a male I don't wear lipstick all day everyday) my favourites from the lipstick range would have to be "stone, whirl, velvet teddy and girl about town" all ready nice shades.

Tips: Would definitely use a lip liner it makes such a huge difference, I always put the lipstick on first THEN use the lip liner, I find it a lot more effective.

Best Lipstick!

I've never been a huge lipstick wearer before I was gifted a M.A.C lipstick. Every other previous lipstick I tried would bleed out (with and without lip liners). My M.A.C lipstick is from the Satin range and I've never had a problem with it whatsoever! It glides on and stays put without drying out your lips and you can get a good few hours wear out of it before reapplying. Please note - I have never as of yet worn any lip liner under my M.A.C lipstick so I can say any lipstick from the Satin range is really reliable even just by itself! It's definitely worth spending the extra $$ to get a good quality lipstick in my opinion - you won't regret it!

Tips: Unless you know exactly what you're looking for, it's best to ask a trained M.A.C salesperson to help you choose the range and colour that would best suit you and your needs :)

AMAZING

I always struggle to get a super pigmented lipstick that stays on for a decent amount of time. I recently purchased just a standard Mac lipstic in the shade heroine and me being me assumed it would last a few hours out on the town so I put it in my bag go touch ups... I put about 3 Layers on before I went out and didn't have to touch it up once in the 5 hours I was out and when I got home it still looked amazing and look the same as when I applied it!!

Tips: Exfoliate your lips or use a lip peel then apply lip balm 20 mins before applying your lipstick just to ensure your lips are smooth and moisturised and not all dryer out

LOVE!

At first I didn't understand why everyone was in love with mac lipsticks as I thought they were overpriced and I could find dupes for the colours. This all changed when I decided to find out what all the hype was about. I am in LOVE with these lipsticks! they go on very smooth and are very lightweight making them perfect for everyday use. My top lip is dark and I used to find it hard to find lipsticks that would cover up and show the true colour of the lipstick as the darkness of my lip would kind of alter the colour but the lipsticks i've gotten from mac cover them up with one application which made me love them even more. The quality of the lipstick is fantastic, so you know .. you get what you pay for :p

Holy grail

I recently bought my very first Mac lipstick in the shade Twig. I am so impressed with the pigmentation and staying power of this lipstick. It has a great finish and does not dry out my lips. They have a nice smell which is a bonus. My new go to lipstick. They are a bit pricey but worth the money for sure. Definitely going to buy many more of these lipsticks.
