AMAZEBALLS!!

I received one of these babies in a goodiebox. I am so glad I did as this isn't the sort of thing I would pick out for myself but I LOOOOVE it!

I cant remember the shade(I dont have it handy) but omg the colour payoff is amazing and it stays put all day(or night) despite eating and drinking with it on.

This didnt dry out my lips at all, in fact I find it very hydrating and my lips continue to look smooth the entire time Im wearing it.

If you are on the fence about purchasing it, dont be, it is an outstanding product

Great product but watch out for the bright shades

These lip crayons are awesome. There's a huge range of colours, they're a smooth and creamy formula, and they smell like peppermint! This seemed weird at first to me but the mint is an ingredient meant to make your lips tingle and appear fuller. I have 3 shades, 230 (a nude) 245 (a bright orange) and 225 (a deep burgundy). while the nude and burgundy are excellent I find the bright orange clings to any slightly dry patches on my lips. Avoid the bright shades in these, but definitely pick up some of the more toned down colours as the quality is excellent.

Tips: make sure your lips are in tip top shape if using one of the bright shades. Any dry patches will be very noticeable!

Standout

I have one of these in the shade 250 ‘Standout’. It’s a perfect blue-based bright red, and I think it would suit basically anyone.

I love the packaging; the tube itself has a matte finish and I love these crayon-type lip products anyway. The lid fits securely, and the tube is easy to wind up and down.

The actual product is very pigmented. One swipe is basically fully opaque, and so this is very easy to apply. I agree entirely with the name as a description: although it’s not in any way glossy, this glides on super smoothly, just like a balm. It definitely looks velvety as opposed to full-on dry matte, which I really like.

This doesn’t dry out my lips, which is great. I don’t find it particularly moisturising, so I do often apply a bit of lip balm before, but it doesn’t accentuate dryness too badly, and it is very comfortable to wear throughout the day.

In terms of lasting power, this is pretty good. I do have to reapply after eating a meal, but it stands up to normal wear well, and I can get a good few hours without having to worry about it.

For such a bright/bold colour, I really like that I don’t have to use a lip liner, as it doesn’t really feather or ‘travel’ off my lips.

My only slight gripe with this is that (as with any crayon-shaped lippie), the tip wears down eventually, and so it’s a bit harder to apply precisely. However, this is a small thing in light of the fact that it’s really an amazing lip product, and I’m willing to live with it because of that.

Overall: I love this, and I’m definitely keen to pick up another one or two different shades at some point.

Perfect everyday lip colour

I have several Revlon Kissable Balm Stains, so when they bought out the Matte Balms I knew it wouldn't be long before they worked their way into my collection. I have 'Sultry', a deep pinky nude which is almost my-lips-but-better, and 'Elusive', a medium, warm pink. They're both incredibly wearable colours and now live in my handbag as I pretty much wear one of them every day at work. Despite being a 'balm' as well these are also quite opague and you only need a quick swipe to get a nice colour depth.

There's a few differences between the Matte Balms and the Kissable Balm Stains, the most obvious being the smooth matte finish. Unlike a lot of matte lipsticks I have, these aren't incredibly drying thanks to the moisturising balm effect. I have quite dry lips and work in an area with heaps of air conditioning though so still prefer to apply a seperate lip balm to keep up the moisture as I did find if my lips dried out then the lighter shade (elusive) did crack in my lips. The colour lasted a decent amount of time, lasting through drinks but you'd need to reapply after eating.

Another difference was I found these didn't have the obvious minty fragrance, taste or tingle of the balm stains.

I love crayon-format lip colours for ease of use and the Matte Balms are no exception. The colour is so easy to apply and I like how the plastic package is the same colour as the balm so you can distinguish between them, especially when you end up with a few!

Overall a really great lip product that I'd happily repurchase.

Tips: At the end of the day remove any excess colour and use a lip scrub to get rid of any dry skin before popping on a moisturising balm to help keep your lips in good condition.

For the love of Matte

One perk of having a partner who travels for work all the time is that he was nice enough to bring me back a goodie bag from target where these are only about $6 US... I have Striking and I've done a good three days worth of wearing it now and must say I'm impressed! Same minty taste as the original range, application is a breeze, it stays on fantastically and even reapplication goes smoothly considering some of the history I have had with Mattes. 'Striking' is just that... striking! Love the colour and the orange hue that comes through with it. Definitely intend to continue adding to my collection next time he's in the states

Tips: This is about as idiot proof as you can get.. Twist operated to extend it. Makes a smooth line, cap stays on well, I honestly have no advice as it really is that easy!

The ultimate lip product

Lip stains are becoming very popular with many brands producing their own, Revlon has come out with their spin on them and they are a great success. I saw that one of my friends had one and I was interested in having a lipstick that would be hydrating, last all day, and have great colour. I also love matte lipsticks but find that they can be quite drying so I thought the matte balms are a great idea.

I decided to purchase my own and I got the colours 230 'Complex' which is a peachy nude, and I also got the colour 250 'Standout' which is a bright deep red. Two very different colours but both show up when applied to the lips and have great colour. These matte balms are definitely not for people who prefer natural sheer lipsticks. They are very bright and show up true to colour, I also love how the colour is the same as the packaging it makes it a lot easier to find the colour you want. They have a minty smell to them but it isn't too overpowering and as soon as you apply them to your lips they feel hydrated.

They also last a very long time, I find I don't have to re-apply them a lot throughout the day. They are also easy to apply as they have a smooth slightly creamy texture to them. I will definitely be purchasing more of these very soon.

Tips: If you like bright colours but prefer a glossy finish compared to a matte finish, I would suggest still purchasing these and applying a clear gloss over top.

Comfortable Matte..

I really enjoy these lip balms. Being a lip junkie I have tried many matte lipsticks and these I have found to be a very comfortable, non drying matte lipstick.

I have mine in the colour standout remarkable. Slightly metallic deep red. Well pigmented, Great for all skin tones.

They smell really minty and refreshing. Goes on very smoothly and lasts a good amount of hours.

A must have at a reasonable price from farmers.

FINALLY a lippy I LOVE!

I was really on the fence about purchasing these matt balm lipsticks as I tend to be disappointed with how they come off to easy or go absolutely EVERYWHERE when you are trying to put them on. However after hearing a few good things I decided to take the plunge and purchase two different colours. When I next put the lippy on it applied on great, it is so handy having it in a pencil formed stick, it made it much easier to apply. The colour (Coral) stained my lips perfectly did kept the bold colour that I was looking for and it also stayed on for as long as I needed! I really love how this product delivered on what was promised. The colour transferred onto my lips beautifully and stayed there throughout the day, it was easy to apply so I had to go back and get more! Now I have a range of colours from the Revlon range and receive many complements when wearing it and of often people will ask what kind of lippy it is and where I got it from. I would recommend this to anyone who loves a good bold lip colour and is sick of having to apply lippy every 5 minutes!

Tips: Make sure you remove this at the end of the night as it stains so well that you can end up looking a little scary in the morning :)

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms

I bought a few of these as my friend owned one of them and I really loved it. They are also really decently priced! I now own three different colours, including the one in the picture above and this is also my favourite. They are really hydrating and work just like a lip balm should, meaning you get the colour and the hydration in one easy product. They smell like menthol, which I really love because it feels fresh on your lips. The colour is actually also a lot more dramatic that you think it would be, meaning it works great as a lip stick replacement also.

Tips: Putting a normal lip balm underneath first means the colour comes across more subtle when applying this. Helpful if you aren't wanting such dramatic colour!
